This course could be really nice. A full 18 hole course at this price point is very fair and pleasant. If there was a better cut on the fairway greens and some touching up around the water traps this could be a five star course. The staff was very friendly.

I would give 4 stars but management is not engaged. I called because a group of 5 were slowing the round down. Called the pro shop and they claimed they have told management and would not do anything about it. Sad because I love this course and its close being a resident of Sanford.

Nice and affordable place to start playing golf ! Open fairways and nice greens ! Its not the most scenic course but the green fee is acceptable to what you get! The bathrooms quality are 6 from 10, the clubhouse is closed (covid-19) and the pro shop is 7/10. In overall my golf experience at Mayfair is 7/10

Worst golf course ever been on. Staff completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

The management company that was there was doing such a good job, but they were released in February and the city is self-managing it now! Residents, call your city Manager and tell them maybe they need to call that company back in!!

Driving past this golf club on HE Thomas and someone literally putted a golf ball right into my windshield. They should probably not have their golf course/holes facing a popular road. Also tried to call multiple times during business hours to let them know about the situation (I know there’s nothing they can do) and I received no answer.

The fairways were in awful condition. The greens were sanded over. Everyone on staff was very nice but the course did not play well and needs a bunch of work compared to its competition.

Older course, but challenging holes. Very limited driving range... irons only. Generally a friendly staff. For the $$$ its a good deal, but nothing spectacular.

I play there often, course for the price is ok nothing to write home about but what really makes it bad is the employee Christian. I have never seen a worker with such low level people and customer service skills. Worst attitude ever and acts like hes doing you a favor while doing his job terribly. The town or whoever owns the course should relieve this stress inducing nitwit.

It was very good however we picked a bad day. Only played 13 holes due to the heavens opening up. Still worth the price since I have paid $45+ for course not in as good condition. Will return

Mayfair is a fun course for all level of player. Its location and friendly staff make up for any shortcomings, including no bar or food service.

A good test of golf. Fairways a bit thin in spots but the greens were challenging and in good shape. Well worth the green fees with some very challenging holes

I had tee time at 12:15pm on June 6thI booked it on TeeOff.com, it has been raining all day could not play, TeeOff Called the course and they tolled him it was not much rain so they can pocket my money and not get credit.What a scam I will never play there ever.

Zero accountability. It was a free-for-all when it came to getting a cart, service, anything. I felt like I was in a 3rd world country that had just dropped a supply of food and water. This place should be removed from the GolfNow app, for the sake of the golfers looking to enjoy a quality game of golf. Few things in life could be worse. Zero exaggeration!

Very bumpy ride,even in the fairways. The green are inconsistent, some very fast while others are slow. They do offer special prices on The off app. One upside is a 6pack of 16oz beers for $18:00.

I like the course. But the proshop guy was late by 5 minutes. And the cartpaths are still messed up. Greens were best Ive seen them. Pace of play was very good for a weekend.

Really cool, historic Donald Ross layout. A shot makes course. Very good value. Currently, the greens are in excellent shape and the rest of the course is in decent shape. The City of Sanford has a real gem here including the friendly, efficient staff. It would be great to see what the course could be with some fluff and buff. Still a must play for any golfer.

Fun course to play! The greens were a little inconsistent and some of the senior tee stations seemed to be made more as an afterthought. However, the course is in much better shape as a whole than when we played it two years ago. We found the staff to be very personable and accommodating. This course will always be in our rotation when we’re in the area.

Its not your average golf course, where you have to be a member and meet up to certain standards to belong. Its a way more laid back environment and setting, where you can be yourself and have fun. More like a party or a place to meet up with your friends just to have something fun, with a little competition to it, to do on the agenda for the day. Kind of like Vegas, lol. You should do it!

This place is awesome! Fairly good maintained, affordable prices, good beer bar, not crowded.. What else can you ask for?

It was the first time I have played this course. A few things need to be addressed. The practice range is very limited, you cant practice with your driver. Parking is also very tight. You are parking in the path of errant shots. While we were there, someone had their back window taken out by a bad shot.The course was in decent shape and wide open. There are some holes with an elevation change, which makes for some fun holes. The greens were fast and overall in decent condition. The biggest issue on the course was the lack of a ranger to make sure pace of play was adhered to. It took us 2 hrs 45 mins. to play the front 9.

The course and club house have a lot of history. Its not fancy or always in great shape but its got a great layout, some fun holes, and is easy to get on for an affordable price.

Carts were not ready and several broke down. Course is in rough condition. Overbooking caused delays on every tee. The most disappointing aspect of golfing there today was a employee pulling a blower with a tractor, was blowing dust and debris into our faces!

Course needs work!

Course is fun and not boring, slightly challenging for a weekend warrior. Good prices and course is well maintained. The driving range is the only drawback here, it is limited to about 160 yards and fairly narrow with houses on the left and a net on the right that is easy to hit over and into the parking lot. Overall good though.

Hands down the worst golf experience ever! Course was beyond rough shape. Tee boxes were bad, greens were bad, fairway rough as can be.There wasn’t a drink cart to be found, even though we were told there would be one. When asked no one knew if he/she even came in. Our group had to stop playing before the ninth whole and drive across to the club house to get a drink.The restrooms do not have sinks to wash your hands and the toilets do not flush.I will not go back, which is a shame, the course could have a lot of potential.

The course itself is in good shape. However, you dont want to play here on the weekend unless you have 6+ hours to donate. I played by myself many times here and its taken over 4 hours to play 18. Youll be waiting long times. I wont ever play here on the weekend again because of the wait. They let groups of 5 play and let kids play. Its frustrating. Would rather spend more to play a course where the wait isnt ridiculous. You can never establish a rhythm

Mayfair Country Club was in decent shape. Tee boxes were overseeded and green as were fairways. Greens running 10 on stemp meter and in good condition. Tee boxes need sanding after daily play. Bumpy cart paths could use work. Ovetall playability was good. Great value for eeekend play at $30 plus tax through golfnow.

Greens are surprisingly fast for a public course. A little ratty in the rough but otherwise ok.

Mayfair is a good course and is laid out in a down and back style which limits having to hit shots through a neighborhood. The restaurant on site offers some good sandwhich options and has and direct overlook of the ninth green.The course itself plays as two very different nines. The front has the most variations including some interesting approach shots and typically requires more strategy. The back nine is longer but doesnt require the tighter lines and accuracy of the front.The course overall is well maintained with some obvious patches in the fairways and roughs. The greens are typically faster than normal.

Poor customer service. Dont join the Loyalty Card. Things change every time you go in to play with your card. With the Loyalty Card there is no charge to play if you walk however that depends on whos behind the cash register. Inconsistent on how they manage the benefits of the Loyalty Card. Use GolfNow if you want a cheap rate. Dont pay the $750 for the Card. You dont get what they claim.

Good value for the money

Mayfair Country Club is a small, modest and inexpensive golf course. You will get 18 holes of fun on adequate but not well maintained fairways and geens. The course is short and easy with few hazards of mention, the staff are nice and helpful and the carts are clean and in good condition. This is a great course to take newer players (took my sons here many times when they were learning the game) but if youre looking for PGA quality pristine fairways and greens you may not be happy.

What? Why are you mowing so early? A FULL hour before code allows? What kind of vindictive evil people are you that you fail in being good neighbors to those whose homes are in close proximity? My scale would be a full TWO NEGATIVE STARS at least, but thats not an option.

Course isnt in the best shape but a good deal, the last three times Ive gone the same bartender has been there and she always has a nasty attitude. The service is lacking. And it seems theyre always closing earlier than the hours they list. Ill be looking for another golf course.

For the price on Monday and Wednesday its okay, the course is a far cry from when it was private many years ago. The cart paths are terrible the fairways are rough and the greens are good and fast.

I Golf Mayfair GCC every week the greens are good the fairways have been reseeded about six weeks ago and have come in beautiful there are some rough spots in it but for $17 you cant beat playing golf. The food in the clubhouse is good and the personnel have always been nice to us

Fairways are nice ruff is bumby and rutts everywhere greens are hard and run fast. Worse part of course is you are right on top of every other hole.

I went here on Labor Day with a couple friends. It was our first time playing the course and I booked a tee time using Golf Now. The rates were great and included a breakfast sandwich and coffee! I knew it could be busy with the holiday, but we decided to give it a try anyways.We arrived early and checked in with the helpful gentlemen at the front desk. It was a bit confusing at first on where to get our carts and about the included breakfast. We were informed that they didnt have anymore carts at the moment, but a few minutes later a few freed up. The breakfast did not. We teed off and the pace of play was nice despite the crowd.On the 3rd hole I was pleasantly surprised with the staff met us on the tee box with our breakfast sandwiches, coffee, creamer, and napkins! This was a really great guest experience that our group appreciated. We continued our round and the course was fun. The cart paths and transitions between holes were very poor or nonexistent, but I didnt mind to be honest.It wasnt until the 12th hole where things went wrong. After a beautiful drive off the tee box, I soon realized my golf cart had stopped working entirely. We pushed it off the fairway and called the clubhouse to get some help. At that moment it began to rain heavily and 15 minutes later, no one from the club house arrived. We ended up walking back to the cart garage and jumping in a different cart on our own to continue our round. At this point, we were soaked, had 3 other groups wanting to play through and the entire incident delayed our round by 45 minutes. I still dont know if they retrieved the dead cart or sent anyone to help us.Overall, I think the course was fun, a good value, and I look forward to coming back in the future.

Course may be in rough shape, but the rates are reflective of the conditions and the course is still a fun muni track.

The new management has made great strides in restoring Mayfair to tip top condition. I play there often and it is a pleasure to see the positive changes in the grounds and club facilities.

Unplayable. 2.5 hour 9. Tee time was at 1:10, didnt tee off until 1:30. Finished 9 at 4:00pm

If you are looking for a quick game in the area its not bad for the online rate. Yet the course is not in the best shape.

Played 25 Times and then get told you cant play in Jeans.It was never a problem with J.P. Did Ramon have a bad day? Guys i do have a choice and i guess i will not come back. Your loss.
