In great Fall shape. No leaves on the green. Greens were excellent. Rough kind of thick, but dont hit in the rough, thats part of the game.

Had a great round on the Lake course today. Course is in great condition and has a challenging layout. I wouldnt hesitate to come back to Carolina Trace

I played the Lake Course. Excellent course conditions and friendly staff. Some challenging holes, but also very scenic. Would definitely play again.

Very bright and enernonus property.. Great mixture of old and new homes. Very hilly with vast amount of foilage. Gated community.

Played the Lakes Course, it was in excellent condition even with all the rain from the night before. Unfortunately with all the rain, it was cart path only. Will definitely be back to play the Creek Course.

Outstanding conditions and beautiful layout, but I need to bring my A game next time.

This is a review for the restaurant only. They never answer the phone. It’s almost impossible to actually get food unless you dine in. Basically they don’t care if you’re able to place an order because they’ll charge you for that quarter anyway, even if you can’t ever get in touch with them

Clubhouse is beautiful, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Will come back again.

This is a first class golf course. Played one day after snow and the lakes course was in overall great shape. Courtney along with the other staff were very friendly and welcoming to our group. Thanks again for everything! Cant wait to play the rivers course!

Played the Lakes a couple of times recently and the course is in fantastic shape and has always been a very challenging - but fun - layout. Kudos to Ray Reyes who I believe has done a great job in getting the course in great condition despite challenging weather. Try it out.

Great course, 2 18 hole courses there. I played the Lake course, its fun and it will challenge you. Staff is friendly, the lunch is really good. Country Club feel without the bs. Cant go wrong.

Beautiful course and challenging, staff were nice. Free cooler and Ice. We played creekside, looking forward to playing lakeside soon.

We had my daughters engagement surprise here. The Hawthorne room was beautiful, the meal was delicious and the staff especially Bridget Klish was accommodating and supportive. Everyone was just as excited as we were to make the surprise happen smoothly. I cant say enough about how pleased I am with our entire experience!

Played the Lake course for the first time...Great layout! Very good playing conditions but only one working water fountain on course...please add a couple more or hire a cart girl. Although they sell water in pro shop, no ice coolers on carts.

Extremely disappointed in this establishment. I live across from the 13th green and today there was a group of four golfers yelling and dropping F-bombs like crazy. I called the country club to report this. Their response was they are short staffed and It is what it is. I didnt expect that this would be acceptable behavior.

Very nice layout. Early spring golf has its challenges with winter conditions but greens were in good shape. Definitely a course worth playing

I attended a beautiful wedding at this event, however the staff at this facility made the experience less than a pleasure.While attending the wedding I was standing in a door way as the bride and groom entered the room and their employee Ellen attempts to shut the door while I’m standing in the door way. So for the rest of the evening I walked around with a swollen ankle as she closed the door on my heel! OUCH and then when I complained to the Director of Catering; Victoria Harper, she advised that she didn’t have time to discuss the issue when I explained I was injured, she then threaten to put me out of the building for voicing a complaint about an injury I suffered at the hands of their staff. This has to be the worse customer service experience I’ve ever had.

The W. B. Wicker High School class of 1964 celebrated their 55th class reunion. We have no complaints. The food was good, the service was excellent and the hospitality was wonderful. It was enjoyed by all.

Very nice golf course community. Gated, and has security. Lots of water, and the golf course looks nice, but I have not seen the details on it. Was giving an estimate at a house and had a really neat layout, unique homes, not cookie cutters.

Pool has been broken and nasty 2 of the 4 months they are supposed to be open. Playground equipment is on a sloped hill, has big unsafe roots under the swings, and grass is often high and not mown. We paid a lot of money to have a place to swim. Dont join.

It was a very nice NewYears Eve party. Well organized, good food, good music etc

Im not a golfer I was here helping with my companys charity golf tournament. The staff was very professional and the grounds were well kept.

Been living in Carolina trace for over a year and have never played. The course looks good and seems to be well kept.

I was very surprised to see the customer service complaints. I have always found the service throughout Carolina Trace Country Club to be friendly, helpful and always earnest. The two Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf courses are exactly as he himself described them...easy bogeys, difficult pars. They can humble even the seasoned golfer, but that one brilliant shot will make you want to come back again and again.

The community looks fantastic and the courses are in excellent shape! Staff is always friendly. Dinner was terrific..leg of lamb.

Had an event there. They had broken equipment for months and didnt mention it when i asked about the audio during the walk through. Gave me a karaoke machine for speakers. When i asked about questioned the speaker option. The staff said the speakers were broken for months! The event coordinator lied to my face and didnt even apologize for it. She said well what do you want me to do about it now? When asked how much drinks would cost, she gave me wrong prices, and i was never told of the service charge per purchase of a drink on top of the service charge for the room. They really need to get anothet coordinator, maybe someone who is customer service knowledgable.

Played the creek course on 3/25/17 while visiting a friend. Fantastic golf course with a nice staff. This is a very challenging RTJ design with small greens and they are well protected by the bunkering. Trust your range finder and not the yardage markers as they are off. This course demands accuracy and you must think your way around if you plan to score. My reasoning for only a 3 star is that the creek course has little to no markings guiding a player around. On two different occasions we went the wrong way and thankfully homeowners were outside and guided us back to where we should be. You literally at times have no idea which direction to go after leaving a green and heading to the next tee. If the club would address this issue this facility would be perfect. Anyway this course is well worth the money and is a very challenging and enjoyable place to play. Will definitely come back on my next visit

Two wonderful courses by classic designer, Robert Trent Jones Sr. The Lake and Creek Courses meander around a picturesque private lake. With striking elevation changes, the courses rival anything in nearby Pinehurst. The new clubhouse is has been open several years now. With a helpful pro shop, bar, dining and banquet facilities they have done an excellent job.

Amazing time

The lunch was bright our with a small bowl of fruit for 20 people n means n bewafa without mayonaise or mistar n no tomato or lettuce. That is bad enough but when they bright these things in they bright in one thing at a time. By the time they finally brought these foods in everyone had sat down n were already eating. And a fly flew in my husbands water n two people had a fly land on their good. One man couldnt eat his sandwich n the other man cut the part of sandwich off where it landed. So it was not a very good visit. Program was well presente however. We go every month n never had trouble before with service.

Friendly Staff but the greens were by far the worst Ive putted on this year.....period. With a tournament being played there, I wouldve thought they would have cut or rolled them? Anything wouldve been better than nothing. The course overall is ok at best.

The golf courses are in fantastic condition now even though its August. The greens run true; the fairways are excellent. Just dont hit into the rough - LOL.The pro shop staff are very nice and helpful, and its a great deal for a course of this caliber - a true RTJ Sr. course.

They are overpriced. Their food is mediocre. The golfing seems to be their main focus. They dont do much to encourage membership. There is a medium sized pool, but its outdoors. Its open season is very short

I cant even get them on the phone ! I called and was rudely hung up on, but not before I heard I dont want to talk. I tried to call back...... And they took the phone off the hook, Are you kidding me? That right there just sealed the deal. Im not spending a dime at an establishment who allows their employees to act that way.

Gate guards are rude.Played here multiple times and there is always something wrong with my tee time.pro shop staff is not welcoming.course is absolutely beautiful.

Great round of golf. Disappointed that there is no drinking water on the course, and no trashcans. Played the Lake Course. All hole says Cart Path only, but verify at the clubhouse on any given day.

The course was phenomenal except for the aerated greens on the lakes course. The head pro/mgr is somewhat of a snob. We arrived with 20 golfers and he only spoke to the white gentleman in our group. Once the pro/mgr saw our group was composed of many minorities, he change the course selection and put us on the lakes (aerated) course. The course did not provide us a starter so we were lost trying to find the first tee but the Marshall (pro/mgr) came out later to rush the groups through the course. This group travels annually for an entire week and unfortunately this was a very bad experience at the conclusion of the week. There are many courses to play in the Sanford/Pinehurst area, I will never play Carolina trace again. I will not recommend Carolina Trace to the many groups in my area that travel to the Sanford/Pinehurst area. If you are a minority stay clear - very bad customer experience!
