I liked this place, but I can’t really explain why. It’s so random. The parking was hard to find. There weren’t really trails, just some tire tracks people followed. It seemed like only the Texas State students that live in the apartments right by it visit this place. There was litter all over the place. But it was wild and green! We took our dog, and it was pretty much free range for large dogs. All of them were off leash- which I love

The park is lovely, but could use some upkeep from the county, and more places where the Blanco River is viewable.

Cool area. Not well posted, and well hidden. According to the City Park websige, there is no off roading there but, people do so at their own risk and at the detriment to the park. Beautiful hidden river area with nice hikes. Just be careful for speeding 4x4 vehicles and random people. Just off the East side of I35, behind the apartments.

Nice trail, a little bit hard to get to tho, especially when you want to see some the best spots it has to offer. Depending on what time of the year you go but Id recommend going the afternoon because of the heat and the mosquitoes.

Can get overgrown and hard to walk through but overall nice, quick trail by the Blanco River. Convenient for nearby apartment residents. Easy, safe parking lot.

Trashy & over grown, if cleaned up I can see where it could be nice.

Quick, quiet little spot to get a nice short walk in along the shores of the mighty Blanco River.

Discovered this place via the AllTrails app. It is pretty hidden between two apt complexes off the 35 frontage road and the little entrance to the open field which takes you back towards the shores of the Blanco River is not conspicuously marked. For me, however, this was a good thing. I went just before dusk on a Saturday and there was absolutely no one else on the trail but me. The trails walks through an open field then along some brush obstructing the view of the river, but it breaks up in certain places and you are treated to some pretty vistas of the surprisingly clear Blanco. I only did about half a mile of the trail because the mosquitoes were brutal, but I think the entire thing might be less than a mile to be honest. I turned around at this cool little split that had some awesome trees and I even saw a few frogs. If you are looking for a nice little walk w/o too many people, this was a neat little find in the San Marcos area.
