I go here often. If you do, make sure to become a regal rewards member. After achieving a certain tier of rewards, you can get enough points for free tickets after seeing just a few movies. Free drinks, free drink upgrades. Its great. I rack up the points by just doing the little things they email like watching trailers.Overall great staff, great venue, great theater. Will go here as long as I live nearby.
This is the nicest Regal I have been in, and I have been to those across the country (Kansas, Mississippi, etc.) The facilities are also clean and the staff is very nice. The downside is this is the most expensive Regal I have ever been to. The ticket prices are pretty steep. But other than that, it was a pretty good experience coming here.
We love our local Regal Theater, specially while it was opened back up. You cant beat taking the kids to see The Battle of Hoth (Empire Strikes Back) on the big screen, for $5/ticket.
This is a really great theater for the price. The day shows are super cheap! This is a very nice theater to go to in the San Marcos area if you are looking for a old style steaming arrangement. You can’t reserve the seats which makes them a bit cheaper and honestly it’s worth it. Been going here for years and still love it. Will always recommend Edwards 18 to friends.
Convenient for me. They always have a great selection of movies. I have the all you can see pass and go every Tuesday and sometimes more. There is a kiosk inside the lobby to buy tickets at no charge rather than waiting in line or paying as much as $2 convenience fee on the web site.
Its everything I want in a movie experience, without the lazy-boys (Ill sleep during the movie otherwise). No hooligans at this location, so you dont have to worry about the noisy folk during your movie. The concessions are handled in an orderly and timely manner, and the staff are amazing to get to know!
Nice to finally be able to go to a theater & see a movie.
Great place to peep a flick. The only reason its not a five star review is the old style theater seating with fixed arm rests. Beyond the dated seating great spot and near good eats for after or before movie.
I cant wait for Regal to start showing movies again! I will be there for my popcorn and snacks!
I just changed my 4-star to a 5-star. I realize that the only negative part of my experience that night was not the theater itself but was rather a more personal issue.Quick line to get in (use the Kiosk, although the touch screen is quite finicky), uncrowded and comfortable.
Not accepting cas at the moment. Just to let you know.
The movie theater is cool. However, the service not so much.. seems they frequently under staff. They also do not work as a team as I have seen members watch the other struggle while they “ clean the counter” or “have a long conversation with a co worker. Just my observation..
Would give this location a higher rating (friendly staff, comfortable seating, ability to select seats) but cleanliness is an issue! The main ladies bathroom always a mess. The counters are always flooded with water, which you have to navigate to not make contact. Hand dryers blow directly down on water which spreads germs everywhere. I see a lot of people skipping washing hands as result. Hubby reports same issue in mens room. Please Regal, renovate or at least pay more attention to!
Uncrowded on weeknights, though lightly staffed (lines for both tickets and concessions.) Clean and comfortable theaters and seating (now you can choose your seat at time of purchase.) Do note that the posted movie time is actually 15 to 20 minutes before the movie starts. Way too many previews, last night I lost count - 5, maybe 6 were shown. Overall, a positive experience. - Oh - do join their Crown Club. Purchases add up to freebies like popcorn, drinks AND tickets!
Shocked that there was only 5 people in this theater on a rainy Tuesday morning! Still enjoyed the movie & popcorn though the prices were a bit high for my senior budget. Good thing the price of the show was so reasonable
Uh, I took my two sons to see Tenet and we were the only ones in the entire theatre. I think you first need other people before you can social distance so please make this happen
It was good the only reason I gave it a lower score is the new seating situation. I have not been in years, since I moved away but I was visiting and decided to take my kids. They have assigned seating now, so you pick it when you pay for the ticket. Seems all good til you go to the theatre, luckily it was not crowed but there was no clear indication where seat numbers would be or where in the theatre the seats would be. Just on the seat and row itself so you have to search. Also just an image from the ticket booth which was switched around so we ended up on the wrong side. Well we sat in the wrong seats, I had an injury at the time so searching with three kids didnt happen. It was all good til two older ladies came and we just so happened to be in there seat. I was wrong and I felt bad but there was rows upon rows of empty seats. But just because we were assigned she made a big deal. I ended up moving no problem I offered but Im disappointed in the theatre because simple signs on the outside stating which number and letters are where would make it 100% better for everyone involved. Everything else went well.
I don’t know if prices going up are a product of the economy or just a business that is successful enough to raise them, but wow tickets have gotten expensive. I like this theatre even though it’s not the newest one around but it’s large en to where i’ve never had to worry about not getting a seat (i’ve also never attempted to go to an opener before). Just keep in mind that tickers are like $13-14 right now and theatre food is always pricier.
Its rarely crowded and its quiet
So good to be back at Regal after a six month rona break. Theaters, bathrooms, and lobby are super clean. Light crowds for now. Plenty of available seating. Weve been able to see every movie weve wanted to with our Unlimited pass. Great to see the familiar faces of the management and staff. Hope enough movie goers return to keep this theater in business.
This is a very nice theater with assigned seating at a reasonable price. Snacks are typical theater pricing. Everything is very clean and inviting.
I took some kids to a summer Thursday 1p matinee showing.Tickets were a fair price of child/senior $9.95. Adults were $10.95. They have reserved seating. This place could easily score better but they were woefully understaffed to handle the crowd on hand. You can buy tickets online but end up paying a surcharge. You can also buy tickets from costco and save money - I believe a 4 pack runs you $9.5 a ticket. The line to buy tickets was easily 20 minutes long. Lately the lines at Disneyland have been moving faster. No exaggeration.Once you make it inside, youre home free - if you dont want to buy any concessions.Same gripe with the concession line. Easily 15 minutes to drop serious money on a $5 box of candy or a $7+ bag of popcorn.Summary - good movie theater, under staffing will test your patience.
I saw the new joker movie in this theater. I love the movies and this place was not at all crowded which i assume it does get on the weekends. The patrons were quiet and focused with no interruptions.
Always a great place to attend. Nice that they added new seats and now can reserve your seating. No more waiting in lines for premieres. Also beer is available!
Watched the gentleman there. Clean bathroom, nice reception area. Pop corn was decent.
Soda tastes like water. I told the worker on my way out. He said yes, it had already been reported. No offer to give me another one or a refund.
My go to theater in San Marcos. Friendly staff and great selection of new movies. Hot food is ok
Good place to check out a movie. No frills but a decent theater. Clean and friendly.
Most often, its the other patrons that make or break a movie experience. But regardless of the patrons, this theater is one of the better ones Ive visited. Its always clean, the employees are always friendly, and as long as you dont go on any major opening weekends, the line for tickets is usually small. I always enjoy my experience here. Its my go-to for movie theaters around here in North county.
Love I can choose seat when purchasing ticket....dont have to watch all the asinine commercials
Decent pricing, fairly clean, a little slow at the concession stand but thats expected. I appreciated that you could buy food and beer as well as popcorn.
Good theater super loud
The small theaters playing the new movies are pretty empty consistently. Clean and stuff. Also seems like they have an employee check on the theater once every showing
It would be nice if they had a menu display at the front concession. Also, the clerks should speak up when telling you what they have. Fairly clean movie theater. Seats were comfortable enough. There should be lights turned on at end of movie, while credits are going because everyone is trying to find the steps in the dark. Bathroom door is extremely heavy for older people to open. Movie theater doors should be opened before movie starts. People have their hands full of food and drinks.
Excellent customer service and the have a great weekend crew I lovethere
The four-star rating expresses my appreciation for the indie (independent) movies that this theatre offers from time to time. These are movies which are outside the mainstream (the very opposite of super-hero flicks such as Avengers: End Game). Because this theatre is a mere 9 miles from home and offers bargain Tuesday viewings for $7 a ticket, all day, I can avoid a trip to the Angelika (23 miles from home) or Landmark Hillcrest (42 miles). Ive complimented the management for offering indie movies for movie-goers who enjoy this type of serious and high-quality entertainment.
A solid theater that could use some updating. They have assigned stadium seating, but not reclining seats. Close and convenient, though!
Not the most modern style seating but still a good apot
Great movie theater. Clean and comfy chairs
I love the place, I always have a blast when I go. The staff is friendly. The bathrooms are always clean. The theaters are always clean as well and smell fresh, not like other places lol.
The theaters are all right. San Marcos could really use an update to both screen quality and sound quality. If I am going to pay 13 dollars every time to go see a movie I want it to be great and in my experience it was just okay.
Quiet during the day. Perfect testing ground for bringing my little guy to see his first film. Toy Stort 4 was great: we laughed, we cried, etc. Overall its a great theater.
A nice theater that has many popular movies and multiple screens.Parking is a nightmare and it youre just going to get popcorn and soda skip the main concession line and go to the auxiliary stand on the way to the individual screens.
Many people enjoy popcorn at the movies. And with the popcorn, they enjoy butter and other delicacies. Well, the butter at San Marcos is evil. Even though it looked very cheap at first, I ignored the fact and put butter on my popcorn, just to have a terrible stomach ache for the next 5 hours of my life. Do not eat the butter, you will regret it.
I always enjoy seeing movies here and playing in the arcade. The photo booth is really cool too!
I gave five stars cuzz they deserve them,I do all the time and always find stafffriendly, well informed and very clean, theater is always clean, and well air conditioned, the only thing Id change isget rid of made of ropes in front of ticket booth, and open more then on windowespecially for first showings, also have more staff in concession, to speed linesespecially when waiting for snacks to bemade like the pretzels ect. other than that I am very happy with them.
No reclining seats, but still a good movie theater.
Outdated seating! Dont sit in theater 16 row o feels like your in the third row of an SUV. Over all its okay the movie jumanji was good. Movie on!!
Its old school but clean and nice
The ticket person was very helpful. I asked him to check the balance on my giftcard. Assigned seating, not really my choice for a general seating (No lounge chair.) Friendly employees. Fairly clean.
The extra snack bar, as one enters the corridor of theatres, is a hidden gem...so convenient. A real time saver when lines are long in the main entry concession stand.
Nice sound, view....need some better seats!
Im giving this theater a three because of a few key factors. During the movie I could here a cricket the entire time. It was very loud and distracting. The seats are uncomfortable and the bathroom needs to be redone. I did see they finally got automatic faucets, but they need to continue to revamp.
Great seats. Easy In and out.
The lines are always long to buy tickets and concessions. You should be able to arrive 20 minutes before the movie starts and be able to get tickets and popcorn before the previews even start, but it always takes so long that by the time we get in, the movie has already started. I forget every time that you need to be there 40 minutes early or youll miss it. My husband always ends up missing the first part so he can get concessions. Lame.
Nice and calm theatre. However, it would be nice if recliner seats were added, as seating space is tight. Also, second concession stand should open up on busy days. Lots of potential for improvement! :)
I enjoyed the movie theater, its clean and can be quiet at nice but still quite a few people even at the late night shows. I prefer more quiet. Still great theater.
Great theater and see in every seat. Pretty much where I go to see a movie.
The theater is nice, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it!
Cool service, updated seats.
I went to this theater to see Wreck it Ralph 2. It was a good movie. I cried. The theater is okay and the seat is comfy. I can’t eat the popcorn but I think it’s good and tasty. Would recommend this theater, only downside is that it is a little old.
Enjoyed the seats, although they arent recliners.
Such a great staff at this theater. Been coming here for years and the ticket takers guys are our favorites! The manager cares more than any other at other theaters. He is actively at concession and working with his staff and all are friendly here. Restrooms clean and theaters comfortable and clean. Nice complex
I highly recommend the Tuesday night discount
Phenomenal Theatre the snack bar was nice and the popcorn fresh
This is my town local movie theater I been coming here for the last few years since 2006. The employees have been good ever since. The line to purchase tickets and snack bar have been moving much faster every time I visit. Overall the movie theater is a great experience it just a little bit old compare to other theaters but you still have a great time.
The theater is really nice, and I would have given it 5 stars but the volume in the auditorium was so loud it overloaded my wifes Bose noise cancelling headphones. I went out and asked them if it was possible to turn the volume down some but they told me they have no control over the sound system. I used to work for a theater chain so I know the volume can be controlled. BTW there were only 6 people in the auditorium for the movie.
Cant seem to answer the phone either. Maybe regal should look into their phone system.
Well lick al I enjoy the movies
I hate the assigned seating with numbers you cant even see because the theater is so DARK! Crawling over people you didnt expect to be near your seats is not a good experience. At least with open seating you can change your mind if the journey is too treacherous!Get a clue!
Nice, clean & up to date seatings. Love coming here....
Great venue for FORD VS FERRARI Movie
Pop corn was cold and had stale oil flavor
Saw a fun movie at Early Bird Special.
Retired Welder as always a great time good people never any problems always Usta bring My Son here when in High School ! Good job to all the hard working people who work to keep it clean & safe parking Thanks
Its a good place to hang out with friends because friends make it so much funner
Excellent place to catch a movie and snack on popcorn not crowded.
Generally a nice theater. Need some serious updating, though. Wish you could pick your seats online. Usually very dirty if you go to a later show of a busy movie.
Reserve and comfy seating. We went to the matinee so our family of 6 saved a lot of $ and watched Hobbs & Shaw!!
Its a movie theater. Its fairly new, with comfy seats all in a stadium configuration. They now have adult beverages available, if you are so inclined. Also, Ive been given the senior discount a few times, even though Im not a senior (damn baldness and grey hair!). No complaints from me though. Its our go-to movie theater most of the time (except for IMAX).
Clear speaking thru the mic at the window to order tickets, easy instructions to get to the theater room, and overall very respectful service from employees.
Just upsets me to see how much money they rake the seniors for they should be consistent throughout the theaters a lot of the Edwards Theaters its only five to six dollars for seniors but this particular one is 11 dollars or more thats just isnt right a lot of us seniors only live off of $1,000 a month and we try and enjoy ourselves at least once a month I go into the movies but the cost is so high Edwards in Corona a beautiful area only charges $5 Starlight theaters charges 5 to $6 but this theater wants to really take advantage even though its a very old theater I remember when it was built several decades ago
Clean good price. Popcorn was meh and the line were pretty long.
Very Good. Always clean. Good Parking for Handicap. Good places to eat in area.
Nice staff, clean fun experience.
SAD SAD SAD absolutely DISGUSTING behaviorI was excited when I arrived at the theater because the line wasnt as long as I anticipated it to be, as I purchased my ticket, I asked the ticket clerk how much of the movie did I miss and she informed me that I had only missed a couple of minutes. I swiftly walked into the theater and handed my ticket to the attendant. He then informed me that I needed a ticket and proceeded to let other customers into the theater. I went back to the ticket counter and informed the ticket clerk that the attendant said I needed a ticket. She then asked me if maybe I dropped it because it shouldve been the first slip that she had given me. I looked on the ground in search of a ticket that I knew wasnt there because the distance from the ticket counter to the door is literally 5 or 6 steps but I checked anyway. The ticket clerk then told me that shell let him know that I brought a ticket and Im ok to be let into the theater. She came around and told the attendant that I was ok to be let in and he showed her the ticket that I handed him. The clerk handed me the ticket and said Youre good all he has to do is rip it. She then went back into the booth. I handed the ticket to the attendant very much confused but I didnt want to ruin my night I just wanted to watch a movie and go, but when I handed the attendant the ticket he said you dont have a ticket. At this point Im not only confused but also annoyed because Ive missed what feels like about 15 minutes of the movie and counting. I said to the attendant who went back to letting other customers into the theater again that the clerk said I was ok to get in and that Im missing the movie. He shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head to the side, giving me a look that suggested that it was out of his hands. He called for the clerk on his headset and waited for her to return (which took a couple of minutes) the clerk returned equally annoyed and confused and the attendant informed her that I needed a ticket. She went back and forth with the attendant for a few moments (verbiage I couldnt make out) then she looked at me and said You only have one ticket. Do I need two the attendant looked at me and said so you arent with that man. I looked behind me and there was an African-American man standing quite some distance behind me speaking on his cellular phone whom I hadnt spoken to or even made eye contact with(guess he decided we were together because we were both of African-American race). No Im not with him. the attendant gave an unapologetic apology, that was motivated more from embarrassment rather than sincerity. When I sat down I was disappointed that I had missed the entire intro of the movie and when it was over I decided that it was too late to speak with a manger (the time was after 10 p.m.)and I can address it the following day. I deeply regret that decision because when I spoke to the manager he gave me a blank expression the entire time I was explaining the story, which caused me to cry because once again Im feeling the lack of empathy coming from the employees from this company. Never once did he apologize on behalf of the employees, his self, or the company. He just gave me a card and told me to contact the General Manager. I chuckled at such a request because I honestly couldnt believe that I would be expected to contact the GM about an horrible incident that happened to me. I felt that the GM should be contacting me after being informed by the manager of the events that occurred. I felt like a more appropriate question would have been what is the best time and/or best way to get in contact with you (the valued customer). None the less I contacted the GM who I have been unable to reach and left a voicemail with my contact information. She returned my call once and I was unable to answer because Im typically at work like most people at 2:00 p.m. but Im sad to say I havent had anyone reach out to me since that one and only attempt. It has been approximately 2 weeks since this incident has taken place smh.
The projection and sound system were very good but the low rating is due place filthiness. No cleaning between sessions, walking over leftovers from previous session.
Ample seating, but slightly expensive. Atom tickets works easily and theres an atm-like machine for self service off to the right side. Popcorn is too salty for my taste.
Stadium seating gives me great views of the movie. Not ashamed that I am short in stature and grateful that my height is not a problem when I sit at Edwards San Marcos;I enjoyed the courage of this theater to show: Gosnell!Happy PreEaster!
This theater was very rich in taste and comfort: climate, seating, sound, appearance, cleanliness, and architecture surpassed my approval.
You can get a great deal on tickets if you go to an early show. You can save 40% by going to an earlier show which makes a big difference when you take a family. There was nothing special about the theater, but I will say on the day we went it was very hot outside, yet the theater was very comfortable.I would definitely visit this theater again!
Our go to theater. Quality seating. For me it is a mixed bag of assigned seating. I typically go at off times to see movies so I dont feel a need. The major downside is that it takes significant longer to go through the ticket line.
Nice stadium style theater with plenty of movie options. A little slow at the concession stand, but it was nice to be able to get a beer or a glass of wine - not talking quality wine, but still nice. Liked the option of adding my own butter and salt to the popcorn. Bought my ticket ahead (fandango) so walked right in with no lines.
The variety of movies here is really great and there is plenty of parking. It is very easy to find from the street and the stadium style seating is awesome. This regal does not have recliner seats like Carlsbad, but the tickets are a few dollars cheaper and there are more movie options so if you can live without putting your feet up, this is a great theater.
I love coming here. I take my kids. Sometimes parking is far but it had such a large lot that its worth not having to circle for parking like you have to at Mira Mesa Edwards. Tuesday is the value day. Every showing on Tuesday is $7. If you have a regal card (the free membership/perks card) popcorn is 50% off. I got a large and then I got the free refill. I went to the 4pm showing of Avengers on Tuesday (6 days after release) with no crowds, no line for food. But the following showing looked more busy. The kids like the little arcade area. The driving game ate our tokens and the front desk replaced them without an issue. The claw game is about to run out of DC characters so hopefully its refilled with other popular characters soon. I live by another theater but I always drive further to this one.
Old school seats which were very uncomfortable. I would not recommend.
Friendly, courteous employees, clean restrooms. Have always had an enjoyable experience here
