Really cool movie theater. Has a really classy old Hollywood/ speakeasy vibe too it. Lots of games to play pool, large jemga, bowling, some sliding game I have no idea what it is. ( Ill take pictures next time) and a bar. The whole place has a really cool vibe.

Well. The Spot was a great place in the old days.. But Oct 2020 this place not so great anymore. The screen turnd on only 5 min late but apparently the staff were not aware that theater 4 was supposed to be operational today. And we did end up getting our food, but no refills for YOU!.... And then the movie ended an hour early and lights went on and all. And they were RUDE about letting us finish it. But no worries we got to re-watch 20 min of movie and then even finish it that time...

Their happy hour bowling is unbeatable. Great food, amazing theatre with concierge service. Fun arcade games. Can’t beat the entertainment value here.

This is the perfect place to go for movies. Awesome recliner seats, great food and drinks, and amazing service.And cost wise, I do not think you can find any better place than this which gives you that wonderful experience every single time you go to watch a movie. Plus it has a fun zone so you can hangout with friends and play!

Food was GREAT, but equipment in bowling area was terrible! Ball wouldn’t come back, pins wouldn’t reset, lanes aren’t straight. Normally bowl 150 but bowled an 80! If you are a REAL bowler, don’t go there. But if you want to see a movie, eat, drink, or shoot pool, it’s good.

Really good place to spend time with family

Just went yesterday. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THERE the service was terrible and the drinks were wwwaayyy too watered down, our margaritas were literally clear. Terrible experience

This place was really neat. Different experience for the movie theater that we are used to having. Was neat that you can order from your seats instead of at a counter for your food. Food was delicious. Loved that the theaters were small in size.

I love going to EVO for a movie with my family and once the movie is done you might want to try out some bowling or some VR. EVO is a great place and I can’t wait to go back again.

This has brought the fun back into going to the movies. For years I have hated going to the movies because I am not a fan of being trampled by people constantly getting up and down to go to the concession stand and to the bathroom. Not to mention being cramped up with no leg room. The food service is a huge bonus!! Can never go to another theater again that does not at least have the lounge chairs.

I love this theater. Always a good time. They did take away their student discount, however it’s still very affordable. Their food is great, the recliners are fantastic, and the bowling and drinks and games are very entertaining. Always been treated right when there, and have enjoyed it for years.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Theater was very spacious and it allows you to enjoy your movies with no talking or any disturbances. My cocktail was great, nachos were good, and the server was wonderful. The bar and bowling area are great, so be sure you check that out after your movie. We will definitely be returning soon!

Great atmosphere. Becky at concierge is amazing and sweet. Shes attentive and makes sure everything goes smooth. The seats are lush and comfortable. Drinks are a good size and the mango margaritas are bomb. The chicken tenders are great as well, I get them everytime. Flaky, tender and juicy, whoever the cook is deserves a raise because Ill smack someone to eat them again. I really like the spot, nice location, good parking. Drinks arent watered down, but they arent overly alcoholic either. Shane is the best bartender there!

I liked it because it looked clean and well kept. They offered movies, bowling, game room and a sitting room. I think they could have done a better job on the games in the game room. It could be bigger too.

They never bother answering their phones if you have questions and don’t call you back. The owners should tell management to get on top of that.

Loved it I live somewhere else I visited Texas and came here and it was so fun I liked bowling here super fun and music and lights were the best touch and staff is very kind I will go back if I visit Texas again.

This place is honestly great. Cheap movies, comfy seats, good drink selection and surprisingly they have some really great food. Great spot for a date night> My wife and I go at least a few times a month

Came here for my wifes work Christmas party food was great, service was good, the lanes we were bowling on kept breaking but thats about the only negative experience we had. Definitely will come back to experience the VR and movies.

Best theater in San Marcos. Same prices as a regular theater but has a kitchen, full bar and adult entertainment like bowling, video games and some odd room where a lot of people yell and shout playing some unknown game. The seats are comfortable and stretch out. The food is decent but overpriced. Recommend the Idaho Nachos which are awesome! The mix drinks are not so good. Drink at the bar if you want a good mix drink while you wait for your movie to start. Appetizers are also good and service is friendly and fast especially when you press the button on the chair. The theater is always nice and clean.

The spot is a great date night place. I go online to reserve our movie and seats We get there early and order our food and drinks and enjoy the movie and have a great time.

Honestly the prices might scare some people away but its worth every penny.The seats are good and the food is great.

What a great way to enjoy a movie. Comfortable recliners and an efficient prompt waitstaff that brings adult beverages, snacks and even dinner! I will never go anywhere else to see a movie...it was that great! A must for all adults who enjoy movie nights in style !

We thought this was going to be like a cinergy which we have one at our home town. It was great it wasnt full of kids running around it was more of an adult crowd. Movies drinks old school games and bowling plus live music it was a great place for a fun date.

The food alone stands out on its own. After trying their pulled pork nachos and a bite of their original burger. Im convinced that you cant go wrong with anything on their menu. I really like their reclining chairs in the movie theaters.. The wait staff is professional and prompt. Id definitely go back.

Great place, comfortable seats, ok service, very bad hygiene in the kitchen. If you know a little about draft beers, there ahould be no bubbles on the glass and should have foam on the top. It tasted like old club soda and after I finished the glasses looked super cloudy meaning super dirty. 1 was a friday and went back on the following Wednesday. Same problem both days. Manager said sorry but after a busy weekend they must get lazy in the kitchen. Really?? 1st occasion was stating the weekend and the next one was was a Wednesday. How much time you need to recover from the last weekend!??. Shame.

I took my girlfriend to see Frozen 2 last night. The movie was great but i had a bad experience with the drinks i ordered during it. I ordered food along with 2 long island teas. The drinks were made way too strong. We only took a sip each until we looked at each other and realized the excessive amount of alcohol that was put in them. I asked my waiter if we could take the drinks back because they were too strong and unbearable and he assured us that he would take them back and bring us a refund. The movie ended after midnight and our waiter never came back to refund us before hand. I am upset because i spent over $50 on food and tip and did not receive my refund for the drinks i payed for.

I love coming to this place. This is the only theater I come to. The chairs recline and you can order food an drinks from your seat. I like to order their nachos which are the best. Also you can go bowling here as well. This is great place to hang out with family and friends.

I recently saw Knives Out here. An immature couple brought their baby with them. They talked/argued and the baby cried during most of the movie. The mom was drinking alcohol while breastfeeding the baby at times. What a terrible experience and I felt concerned for the child. Alamo Draft-house would never have let this happen in an adult movie showing. I won’t come back to the Spot again.

Love this place. Great movies great food, clean theater. After a long day showing local houses in San Marcos, we like to go relax . Also bowling is great here. Tip :Get your tickets online.

No up keep between movies in the theatres. Seats had popcorn on seats and all over the floors, some kind of white liquid in the cupholder. Staff is really friendly and the food is great. 5.00 long island ice teas on Tuesdays is pretty awesome.

Closed the bowling lanes an hour early, didnt have the drinks we wanted available, and the bathrooms were filthy. Update: they ALSO sold a lane to a different group after we asked for the same amount of time and were turned away. Furthermore, they are in a college town and dont offer student discounts to movies? Im going to Kyle from now on. The extra 15 minute drive is worth it for clean lanes and properly priced movies.

Great spot to hang out and do a little bit of everything. More of an adult hang out. It wasnt too busy. Had some older video games like Mortal Combat. We ate, bowled, and played cornhole. Food came out quick. Only downfall is having to order with the bartender. Also my husband who bowls alot stated the lanes are not right.. something about it not being slick enough? But the bowling balls did get stuck quite a bit and when paying per hour, we only bowled 1 1/2 games with 3 people. The Cornhole bags need to be replaced... they had holes. We want to go back and watch a movie and try the VR games. They also have live music on Saturday which we want to check out.

This is about the San Marcos Spot location. Today a man came in 10 mins after the movie started. Then pulled out a plastic bag with food and drink in it. Sat and unwrapped things making noise for 15 mins. Then he turned on his cell phone light to look at the menu and ordered something. All the time waiters were going in and out one with he had his light on and one when he was getting his food out. I love that the spot as its 10 mins away from our home. I hate to say it might be worth driving to the Alamo for me to enjoy movies. We have been going to the spot for a year now for all our movies and this was just to much when your trying to watch a movie. Thought someone would like to know.

I love this place. But the bad thing is that when you order food or in their menus, it takes forever. Thats the only concern i have but EVERYTHING is perfect.

Best movie theatre in the area. This was my first time here and had no problems. We sat in the recliners and had prompt efficient service from the guys bringing our drinks and popcorn. Definitely will be back.

We took our 13 yr old and 7 yr old here and they loved it. Lots to do. Great food, drinks. Theater seats are so comfortable, Im pretty sure I dosed off during the movie. Great customer service.

Loved how its set up! Watched a great movie! Staff was friendly. We went today (Tuesday) gave the server a good tip before we ordered to ask him to keep our drinks refilled, we ordered 2 sodas n 1 pizza. .. Guy never came back with our soda! Ugh when he did the movie was 3/4 over

Various bs everytime we go. In the past we would put in the order and maybe a quarter of the time it would get put in correctly. Recently they have required you to pay right when you put the order in or to give them a card to put on file. This time not only did they get my partners order completely wrong (which he chose to ignore and deal with as this has happened many times before), but they also charged the card we left on file after specifically stating we were going to pay cash. Weve been going to the springtown location for years but this is the last time. The other starplex location in San Marcos is even worse in the fact that two separate times Ive seen them allow crying babies in 3 hour long adult films (Im talking Tarantino movies).

First time here and I had no issues. It was pretty great. Came to see a movie on a Sunday evening so there werent many people which is good that means no long waits.The movie and sound were good and the seats are really comfortable, the seats are what made an impression for me.

What a super place! Bought tickets online and they are great seats. Recline and dine as you watch the movie. Great service and good drinks. We will be back when we are in the area.

I really like this place. Not only is the food and service good, but the chairs are comfortable, the theater is small so there isnt as much noise during the movie. Every seat is a great seat. And they were able to accommodate my grandmothers wheelchairs needs. It made the movie experience that much better that they were able to help with a larger spot and table to sit at. We will definitely be going here more often than the other theaters (the door ways are too small at other theaters).

I love this place, been a few times and always satisfied. Clean facilities, great service, great food and drinks. If you like the Alamo draft house youll love this even better.

My daughter treated me to a movie here and I really enjoyed it! This was my second time here but it was about 2 yrs ago. I like the check-in process - very quick and simple. Seating, a comfy recliner, and theater size made me feel like I was in a large media room at someones home. I really loved the 2 cup holders and individual swing-arm food tray, and the lighted call button was a nice touch, but a bit bright. Food was great - I had the shrimp tacos. Service was fast and personable and the screen quality was fantastic. I will definitely add The SPOT Cinema to my short-list of theaters I frequent.

When ordering food its best the think how bad could it be since its almost always below expectations (either cold or bad), i just get a soda or shake. But the reason i decided to write the review is now when you get a ticket online if there is a one seat gap between you and another person who got a ticket online you wont be allowed that seat. For example if you just like seat a5 and someone has a ticket for a3 or a7 you will get blocked.

Great food, comfortable seats, friendly staff, no long lines or loud crowd. This place is perfect.

Expensive and they got rid of Happy Hour for the theater. Its only for the bar and sht now. That erased my reason to see movies here.

Wonder full experience. The model of what all theaters should be. From the multi entertainment areas In the lobby (arcade, bowling, and VR rooms, and maybe even other things I personally havnt seen.), To the lounge chairs that recline so even if you get stuck with an upfront seat, you still can rest at a comfortable viewing angle. And to top the whole place off, at a touch a button you have access to a full menu of appetizer, snacks, drinks deserts, and even whole meals! All this in a modern sleek setting, a place for adults. The only down side would be the cost of it all. A bit pricey, but to say its not worth it would to my ears be blasphemy.

I ordered a quesadilla just because I needed to eat something & this was maybe the best quesadilla Ive ever had. Came to watch a movie - super comfortable.

My family likes coming here to watch movies because the seats are comfortable and the food is good. However, we have gotten poor service on more than one occasion and they always over charge me for the food. My total receipt with tip was $54.80 on Saturday, but the ran my card for $59.80. If that wasnt enough, they then charged my card again for $58.56. Now I have to spend time disputing the changes. Pay attention to what they charge you!!!

Came in to town to visit a friend and we ended up watching a movie here. The theater was really nice. The overall ambiance of the place is like a subdued Dave and busters like feeling but with no kids I saw while here. That is a big plus in my book.

This place is super cool. The food service personnel is not the greatest. They take your food item at your seat which is nice. They constantly pass food over your head while the movie is going....the set up is five star for sure ☆☆☆☆☆.

Its always a great experience at the spot. We could be having drinks at the bar, bowling at the lanes, or watching a movie. The food is great! Only down fall is they dont have dr. Pepper, but thats not a big deal. Highly recommend for work or personal gatherings.

I frequent the bar here, bartenders always remember my favorite beer and are always aware of customer needs. Place is on point and an and an amazing place to see movies, bowl, eat food, hang out at the bar with some buddies and other various forms of entertainment. The San Marcos location is the best location.

Great atmosphere! Lots of fun. I was there for a all day meeting. Lunch was really good. Staff was on top of things. We ended the day at the bar there, bowled a round and had snacks. The only complaint was the chairs. Very uncomfortable especially for an all day event.

Food is okay but not great, the service is good (although we either get zero napkins or 1000 napkins), having push-button food and drink service at your big, comfy, reclining seat is fantastic.Their choice of movies is very Hollywood blockbuster centric, with a tendency to over-book films with conservative political slants and under-book those with progressive slants.They do have throwback film classics on one screen each Sunday and Wednesday, which is nice.Overall its a good experience, and we go here often. Wed like it more, and attend more often, if they booked more interesting/esoteric films and if theyd up the food quality and options (Id pay for a good steak, for example), but we recognize they are a business and are, of course, going to try to maximize profits.

Can’t wait to return to The Spot tomorrow for their Classics series...so I can again order the Sriracha Burger/Honey Sauce with Sweet Potato Fries!!! Now I believe their ad re their Chef!! I have gone to The Spots Free college bowling night numerous times and bowled with a friend for an hour for free, plus the cost of shoe rental. Today we were bowling and the countdown timer hit 10 minutes far too early. I inquired with the staff, and they said since there were only two of us, we only got 30 minutes for free. If there had been 3 of us we would have gotten an hour free, or we could each have our own for 30 minutes. This makes no sense for an establishment that charges everything by the hour. Management advised this had always been the policy which was not our experience, and that we were free to pay full price for an hour. I requested a shoe rental refund for half the amount because we only bowled for 30 minutes and they refused. Whatever the policy, it was not made clear and was recently changed. When we showed up to check-in I verbally said we would like an hour of bowling. I will not be returning for bowling, the bar, or the theatre. I will also be taking up the shoe rental charge with my credit card company due to the free verbiage which is just a scam to get you in the door. Management was rude and un-helpful. I would advise you avoid this place.

What a fun venue! Will not go to Another theater again! Food was great service wonderful. Drinks well poured and delivered right to our cushy seats in Theater. We already our planning our next trip back!

While it doesnt have the best chairs it does have the best food!The chairs do recline and they have call buttons for the servers when you want to order. They just arent super comfy. They make my husbands legs go numb every time.But we will still go there over other places because the food is amazing. We get the Idaho nachos and its enough to split for sure. Soooo good! And the prices are on par with other like movie theaters.

I love the Tuesday $5 tickets all day for the show that gives me extra money to spend on their great put covered curly nachos. for those who havent been there you get to lay back have a beer and enjoy their great snacks. This makes about my fourth time to the movies and Ive enjoyed every one of them.

Food, movies. You get generous portion sizes for what you order, and at very decent prices with good selection including keto or gluten free options. Movie quality and sound is excellent, chairs are luxurious and the staff is impeccable. This place gives Alamo Drafthouse competition.

Great first experience at the spot! Food was delicious, I tried fried pickles and had the chocolate chip cookies with ice cream! Only complaint was the trays on our reclining chairs were dirty so we had them wiped down. Restrooms were clean and actually smelled nice!

Spot is a fun place to go for the family. You can watch your movie while eating or snacking from recliner type seating in smaller sized theatres so the sound of people attending is less but movies sounds are great. Staff greets you with a smile and seems to actually enjoy what they do which passes that good feeling along.

The Spot has become one of my favorite haunts.Food is always great, drinks are large, tasty and strong for a fair price and theres so much going on you can easily spend an evening there.If there was only one complaint its that service can get really slow sometimes when they get hit with a rush at the bar/restaurant and they will forget about the far side of the bar in the chaos.

Probably one of my favorite places to go watch a movie. Theater was small and intimate with nice recliners and table service! They also have bowling Lanes bar and lounge areas as well as pool tables.

I go here a ton of times and it’s a real great time. The only minor issue is i’ve been to the spot ten times total. And four of those times, I’ve been sent to the wrong theatre. Not a deal breaker, but it is an awkward encounter when you’re accidentally sitting in someone else’s seat because of that. It happens more frequently than it probably should. Other than that, great food, service, and very comfortable.

Beware of using your debit or credit card here! They put 2 charges on my debit card even though I paid in cash! 1 charge was refunded but Im still waiting on the other. My friend used her debit card also and they put 2 charges on it plus they doubled the tip amount she had put down! Ive spoken with the management about all this and hoping they get it straightened out promptly. In the meantime beware and check your bank statements!Update: They refunded both charges to my card which they had run without my signature on the receipt after I spoke to management.

The spot was easily one of my most comfortable experiences in the theaters. From the reclining chairs to the food, this place really tries to make you comfortable, and it succeeds. The food is amazing at mid range prices and cant tell you how good the wings are. Will definitely return with friends. 5/5.
