Enjoy the water fountains and your kids. Have a picnic with your buddies and watch the skateboarding on the famous Chavez three steps
Good place to go n hang out with your friends or family as well ur girl friend heart of San jo
Its a place to relax and be alone and think! Or to see Christmas in the park for the last time! The Lord is coming very quickly!!!!
Such a relaxing moment to p[ass by here!!
I love this place. Really great for tourists and just for a nice stroll.
Just an open space were you will find the homeless, however, it isnt as crowded as Saint James Park in homeless people. So it is a place to just be able to relax.
We enjoyed walking around the park at night. Weather was perfect..people where great...scooters were available with plenty of room to get acquainted with the operation without worry of running over people on accident. This area is well lit and feels safe. We had a super great time playing in the park until 10pm on a Sunday night.
It’s has become a tradition to have family gather and enjoy the beautiful scenery and delicious snow man hot chocolate. There is just so much to do and see, I recommend good walking shoes. And layers for the ice rink. Best of all there are dozens of hotdog vendors. ️
Lots of history that I can just imagine. Also, if you plan to go during summer-which maybe practically most of the year-bring a hat since it can get very hot. Definitely a must visit place.
Beautiful in the spring with the purple blossoms! Theres a cool fountain pad that kids can play in the summer - although its really close to the busy road so its not exactly the best place for toddlers to run around. If youre already in the city, I would go check it out, but dont make a special trip for it.
Came here every year for Christmas in the park display. Nice area to spend time walking around. Get a bag of popcorn, and a cup of snowman hot chocolate, then take a slow walk to enjoy all the displays. You can take a seat at the community stage and enjoy live music perform by local musicians. If you have time you can go ice skating at the ice rink.Pay parking is available close by.
Once upon a Time you could take your small children here to play in the fountain. However, now its been diagnosed with salmonella....pretty from afar. Perhaps to many homeless.....or Dare I say it, too many small children in regular diapers. Come on people....swim diapers or keep them out. Holy cow!
The biggest fountain, so they turn it back on in summer for everyone to cool off. Right now its hosting Downtown Ice from Christmas in the Park, another thing I havent done in too long to remember. Itll be nice to go with friends,
Vibrant park that is usually made alive by the year-round stream of events. Sanitation is sometimes an issue since transient foot traffic is a constant being it centrally located in downtown San Jose. It is truly an oasis and green patch in a highly-urbanized Silicon Valley capital city. Great site to get some fresh air and tree shade. Public restroom also available on location. Lots of restaurants and shopping right across the street on the eastern side.
Visited for Christmas in the Park. Displays were beautiful and well lit. Most conversations were closed when we arrived at 9pm. The new center piece tree isnt as beautiful as those of the past, but probably a more sensible solution. The LED lighting was a nice touch. We watched some of the live music performances too and had a nice time.
I went for Christmas in the park and it was nice. They decorate with lots of trees and have performance at night. They also close one of the adjacent streets and have rides for the kids.
Very popular during Christmas, a must see. Good place to go to during the warm and hot weather because it has the open water that you can run thru. Kids favorite place to go.
Christmas in the park is the best time to go. Grab some hot chocolate or coffee and walk around the park to view creatively decorated trees. Then enjoy some rides or go to SJ Performancing Arts.
The biggest fountain, so they turn it back on in summer for everyone to cool off. Right now its hosting Downtown Ice from Christmas in the Park, another thing I havent done in too long to remember. Itll be nice to go with friends, if I can: might not be able to afford the tix.
Great Pride event. Its 5th year and going strong.
Holiday in the park, in the rain. Nice tents available to get out of rain. Great hot chocolate from booth by rink. Loved plain Belgian waffle with ice cream
It was lively and busy when I was there. I even saw squirrels. This appears to be a central popular spot for town activities including the Veterans Day parade and Christmas celebrations. There are public toilets here. Public transport is close by here.
A family tradition for us to visit there in time for their Christmas in the Park holiday event. Beautiful decorations all throughout the park. They even have a kiddie train ride there!Finding parking is the only difficult thing to find during this event in December.
Another sad example of how a beautiful park can be ruined by the City’s inability to handle their homeless population. Drug deals in the middle of the day, homeless everywhere and trash all over. This city is not worth its price.
This is a popular park at the center of downtown San Jose. Events like Christmas in the park and San Jose Dia are held here. Nice place to walk around in the downtown. There are water fountains, kids will enjoy running through the water fountain in summer.
All game activities held in this area were great.
Iconic hotel and architecture. One of the famous casinos is here. Forum mall is inside the hotel and has lots of discounts on luxury brands too. Omnia which is one of the most popular clubs in Vegas is also inside it.
We enjoyed the San Jose Summer Fest. Johnny Gill was amazing. He put on a great show. Were visiting all the way from Kansas City.
We visited during Christmas in the Park, so all the trees and decorations were up. The displays extended into perpendicular streets and walkways featuring carnival rides in different food vendors. I do enjoy the park this time of year.
Nice park. Water falls in the summer time. Different events happen here. Music in the park.. Xmas in the park. Pretty part of downtown San Jose in front of Fairmont Hotel
Best Park ever! The fountains the big games! Vendors! My family loved it when we went to visit family.
Great place for a get together and events. I happened to be here during the Rock n Roll marathon finish. Lovely atmosphere.
Loved the Christmas fair.
My handsome Baybee, Manny Chino Contreras took me here, while we rode on his Harley
Christmas in the Park Winter Wonderland! Music in the Park entertainment! The Summer in the Park Community Center set up program! The location of the Park! Also, the local skateboarding that goes on here!(I guess a local underground style of entertainment!)
Safe place,very clean
We’ve been to many musical events here and love the set up. Close to public parking and restaurants.
I love to visit here every Christmas time
Good park to walk, sit and rest. Paid Parking all around. This is a plain park, no equipment for children to play. You will find here few homeless people resting.
I met John Cena here.
Good place to just hang outFamily friendly - until it gets dark then its a much different scene lol
An inner city park with The Tech museum, convention center, and restaurants close by. $2/hr metered parking or parking garages within an easy walk. The park does attract the homeless, be aware of your surroundings.
Excellent Christmas event show
Convenient location to go lime scootering
Nice place to go and cool off with the heat.
It beautiful at night when the hit the back of the building just in front of the park
Spent Christmas in the Park. San Jose always does a great job putting the holiday event together.
Music in the Park series...J BOOG! Super organized, tons of food trucks & pop up tents. No hassle security check point gates. Good times for sure ️
Cool park lots of Hotels around
Went here for christmas in the park. Really nice place for the whole fam.
Used to be a cool spot to go have lunch, but the squirrels have taken over.
Good for children. The space is well maintained. Beautiful Jacaranda trees. Water fountain is good for kids on hot summer days. Christmas in the park happen here.
The Plaza de Cesar Chavez is not sanitary. It smells like human wastes...like urine.
I love this place in Christmas!! The only problem? To get a restroom and change your baby!!
Is very biuriful good natural plant fresh water very clear came everybody to take same Turk walking very safe for you any where
Great until the police showed up.
Had a wonderful time playing Poker here last night. Though I lost bucks but got a feeling of playing with real money.
During the holidays Christmas in the Park is held here. During summer there are music festivals ( such as jazz ) . or children plays in the water fountain and families relax in the park.
Really nice for the kids to go during the Christmas time, with the theme park setup. Loved the decorations
Peacful
This park is the heart of downtown San Jose. The city and other organizations host a lot of events here. Its a skating regular stop. They have fountains for kids to play in. Nice benches for people to sit/lay down on. Definitely worth checking out!
Great place for kids! Water gushes up from the ground and stays on till 8pm. We took a picnic, lots of huge trees providing shade and benches surround the park. Check it out, hours of fun....
Loved the scavenger hunt from lets roam. Grandchildren and i had a blast at Christmas in the park.
Christmas In The Park is a good place for family and friends outing during holiday season.
Park is ok. Needs to improve gardening. Love to see picnic tables for picnics. Needs to improve on the homeless
I have the best job. Working with Butler Amusement. I LoVe the Carnival. Come on down to XMas in the Park and have fun at the Winter Wonderland Amusement Park. Ride the rides, play the games! Win some prizes and have a blast!
Awesome park in Christmas time . . Best place to spend holidays
Great place to go hang out during Christmas time
Named after a legend for all events for celebrating. A mini Central Park in the heart of downtown, what could be better! Plenty of lawn and benches for taking in the views of passer-bys and/or simply relaxing.
Wide open park with cement/tile stage, plenty of cement walkways, fountain that sprays up from ground (so u can walk thru, get wet). Tons o shops w/Fairmont Hotel, SJ Museum & Tech Museum surrounding this old park. It wasnt this exciting when wed come here 52 years ago.
A very beautifully laid out park in the heart of San Jose. But seeing a mass of kids and adults playing in the beautiful fountain is a disturbing and unnecessary sight. It gives the feel of a rural village while right across from the Fairmont hotel. Surely there are lots of water recreation places around San Jose that families can take their kids. If not, lets build some, but for gods sake its ridiculous to have this spot over run with little ones in their underwear, while in the heart of what little business and arts center San Jose has.
Loved visiting during Christmas. Christmas in the park was great.
Its a good place to hang around but its not up to any downtown I saw in Europe.
Not a cleanest place though but many restaurants and close to museum.
I was here for the annual Veterans Day Parade, honoring our Patriots! Weather was great, everyone friendly, waving flags, & proudly celebrating our Vets & thanking them for their service!
I wish it looked the way it does in these pictures..It smells of urine and is dirty..The city of San Jose need to take better care of this gem..It is fading
Great place to go to cool off on a hot san jose day
A GREAT PLACE to bring the dog or family for a frisbee toss or run in the park.Great coffee is right across the street,,,
Beautifully decorated around Christmas. Worth seeing !
Peaceful place to hang out. The fountains are great for kids to play in. Very clean.
VIP Tickets for Music in the Park, definitely worth it to avoid crowd and get 1 free beer/wine and water vouchers. Delphonics put on great show, audience enjoyed it. Choice of food available. Additional wine $8, water $2.
Great square across from our hotel lots to around the square during the daylight hours. There is a homeless population that uses the park towards evening.
Nice place to pass time. Very comfortable chairs provided and kids have a lot of fun with the water fountain.
Great spot to relax on my lunch break
We love this time of the year, we go and enjoy the live music, food, and the rides for the kids
Quality of food is great. But, they have a bit of late service.
Nice place to take a stroll and people watch. The kids love it here. The police seem have a presence here but is does have the mix of transients that will find the unaware tourist. Donate to second harvest; they put food packs together everyday for those in need and will always point them in the right direction for assistance.
