I don’t think it is open right now but when it is it is basically filled with scooter kids. Also only half the actual Park are ramps and bowls. The other half is basically flat concrete that they could have do e anything with. Not good for beginners because all the stuff is really big. There are barely any rails or ledges. Mostly just giant ramps and super deep bowls.
I really enjoyed this place. Ample parking available. A little uphill walk to the office. Really nice people that work there. Fair pricing on entrance ($7 / day + parking) and drinks, snacks and gear. Rental gear available. Awesome little fix it station available. The one thing I wish is that they would get some real toilets.
Its such a beautiful lake. Lots of geese, ducks, and squirrels to look at. Many people come here for walking and biking. Currently the picnic area is not open due to the COVID19 restrictions. But you can still enjoy the nice scenery with your family at the lake. The entrance gate closes at around 7:30 PM, but the exit gate is kept open till later.
Its A great place to skate and bike but google should say they are closed!
Today was the first day visiting Cunningham Park and action sports. I was completely Amazed by the scale of the place. I have three boys and they all brought bicycles and scooters and they did not want to leave after like 4 hours. We had such a great time. Sometimes skateparks have certain element of rough language and things like that this was not that bad maybe a word or two but in general an incredible place for young kids.
Great park with a huge concrete layout, 2 big jump lines, a dual slalom and small pump track. Accessible for beginners and enjoyable for advanced riders alike.
Closed because of the wildfires, pandemic and general craziness in 2020 but wow what a great place !
Fantastic place. Great facilities. Family friendly. Inexpensive. Good support people (staff and visitors). Wish Id had something like this growing up rather than running from cops for committing the crime of skateboarding.
This was my first time there. My son who is 3 goes with his papa every weekend and I decided to pop up and suprise him. His fav area is the beginner dirt track. He is so brave on his little balance bike. This place has something for everyone from beginners to pro. Lots of seating for spectators.
The bike park is fun and well maintained, mostly due to the exorbitant 10$ admission fee these days. I would recommend this park to pretty much all bikers (and skaters). Most of the bike park (slope style and slalom) is usually empty and not ridden, the dirt jumps are where most people spends there here.
Awesome ramps. Truly a great place to go. Great for BMX skateboarding or scootering.
I like skating here you have to pay but its worth it no crackheads and no lil kids running around
Easy place to stay all day. Bring snacks and drinks, lounge a bit and watch the kids roam everywhere, making friends and staying off screens. And its affordable, even to bring a friend.
Literally one of the best bike parks I have been to! The park features great progressive jump lines, drops, and technical features. The atmosphere is great and the riders are friendly. The pump track is out of this world! I would totally recommend for all riders who want to improve and have fun.
This place ROCKS. The staff are awesome and they literally just want the best for you. Bike rentals are 5$ a pop and helmet + Knee pads + chainmail body armor is only 7$! Admission is 5$. Youll learn a lot here. Bring water though! It gets very hot in the summer.
Great place to hit the dirt jumps or shred the skate park. Everything is well maintained and the snack shop is well stocked.
Very cool park. Love going here
This is an honest review (for the skatepark). Diehard fans, brace yourself...If you want it in a nutshell: Seems like there is excess wasted space, and many features are too advanced for even intermediate skaters. For more detail: To begin, there is too much empty, flat area that the designer could have done literally ANYTHING with - but, a good percentage of the park seems like a boring, solid cement slab. Beyond this, the majority of the features are EXTREMELY advanced - so much so that when I was here yesterday, several of the bowls were COMPLETELY empty - in fact, two guys decided to sit and take a rest in the bottom of a large bowl because it was so dead in the area (seriously). The more basic area, on the other hand, (the smaller bowls, puddles, mini-ramps, street course), was absolutely PACKED. And, not just with little kids - but also teens, young adults, and even middle-aged individuals. This, to me, was a very strong signal that the park is geared more towards a very advanced (in some cases Id even say borderline Olympian) skater. I will admit I was disappointed to not be able to ride the full pipe because of its steepness - even up close photos posted on the Internet made it look only like a small incline, but it is super-steep and would require a great deal of skill to ride. This raises one other gripe, which is that if you arent competent in riding the full pipe (and cant drop into bowls either), there is no alternate way to access that entire section of the park - unlike a couple other bowls, which had steps available. That is, of course, unless you have an inner Parkour that can swiftly run up and down massive, steep bowls. On the upside, all the employees were friendly and delivered quick service. The park is also very clean and well-maintained. I did rent a skateboard (since I am now otherwise solely a longboarder), and it was in great shape with much less wear than I wouldve anticipated.I know many people love this place (theres no denying it is still pretty cool), but the skatepark still left a lot to be desired in my mind. I would still go to Sunnyvale over this place, and Napa is still my first pick.Slightly disappointing, overall - I REALLY wanted to like this place...
This place can push your limits and make you a lot better at bmx/dirt jumps, skating, or scootering! Overall, love this place!!
Best place ever to spend the day riding bikes scooters or skateboards hands down
Great surfaces for skate/scoot/bike. Clean, friendly environment, and positive, helpful staff
Beautiful park with artificial lake, bbq areas, and an incredible playground. Shared lots of childhood memories there.
$6 for parking and $7 for the Action Sports park isnt bad, especially for the quality of the park. Their concrete skate park is straight out of a Tony Hawk video game and the Dirt Tracks for bikes are varied and fun.
This place is amazing! All well kept clean and great people hang out here! Even ran into a couple of pro riders from Europe, so that was just a bonus.
Nice park, plenty of space and good parking. However the restrooms can use some ees
I love this place. Inexpensive, great customer service and experience.....!
Great skate park with an awesome staff. It is very family friendly and a unique and awesome skate, BMX and scooter park. The cost is very reasonable, especially if you look at private parks. The kids that go there are for the most part very helpful and understanding of the younger ones... but they will also teach them the safe ways to use the park. Both of my children enjoy this park on a regular basis as well as myself. San Jose is lucky to have such an amazing hidden gem.
I would have given 5 stars but the only reason I didnt is because they dont have very good music so I suggest you bring you own music if you want to listen to music
Recently expanded to include a huge dirt course ranging from a beginner pump track to legit advanced obstacles, jumps and curves. Fees have gone up significantly, since admission is to the whole park, not just skating or biking course. For example, kids entry was $3, now is $7. If you can stay and use both, its an amazing deal --or just do the math and go for the membership if it makes sense for you.Park is pristine, well-run, and its a safer alternative to free local skate parks where young kids often arent made to feel welcome.
It is a nice place to have fun.
Rangers are racist and narcissist with kids. The park just looked the other way when they got informed of the situation on the instigating ranger. Im still waiting for their call.
Largest skatepark in California; worlds largest full pipe. Clean, well managed and not too crowded! Whats not to love?
Amazing, safe family environment. Kids and adults can all have fun.
Love the place, been coming for years.cool staff to boot. its real easy to have a good time there. you wait your turn, be aware of your surroundings and dont congregate on top of the box jump(or any other features) because getting monster trucked by a biker is not fun
Love Lake Cunningham. Great place for lots of events. Fishing, day party, dirtbiking etc
I love going to the skate park you have to pay 7 dollars to get in but let me tell you it is worth it
My son had a blast! Had the tools there to adjust his skateboard. Everyone was courteous and took turns. An experienced skater even took his time to teach him to drop in a bowl.
Brought my bike here, and i had a blast riding with my friends 5/5 coming back here
My 11 year old son loves riding trick scooters. He is aware of space and protocol and just wants to ride. Thats how it should be. At many parks skateboarders behave as if they own the park and pick on the scooter kids. Not at this one. Skateboarders, bike riders and scooter kids are all expected to make it work. Staff members are friendly, helpful and watchful...not to mention there are often some extra moms around keeping an eye out. Throw in mandatory safety equipment and the folks running this park have managed to create a space that reduces the risks and is still fun. Good job!
Great place for walking and biking. Its next to Raging Waters park for those more adventurous. The park ground is pretty well maintained and is conveniently opened most days until sunset. Living in East San Jose, this is a great place to unwind and get some exercise.
Great park for kids to skate and ride bikes. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. My kids love this place. We drive 1 1/2 hours just for this park.
Great park with so much variety
This place is awesome!! Fun park for kids and above! The season pass is worth the price! My son loves it here...
Awesome park thats supervised and well groomed. No explicit graffiti and kid friendly music! You can BBQ on their grill if available and have a party with no fee (except parking and rider fee). Staff is helpful with the kids and have tools available to make any tweaks. This is a great place to learn from the more experienced kids.
Great place to get a good workout and improve movement and stability I come here with my boyfriend a lot and ride with him
The park was clean. Great place for a picnic
This place is amazing. I used to be a scooter kid, but recently I got a skateboard and I keep begging my mom to take me here.
Fun dirt jumps! Really fun slope style course. But the pump track and slalom need work. The dirt is soft as sand.
What a great place to go, so much to see, do, observe, from picnic to skateboard to water slides to casual lawn areas and more, lake Cunningham has to offer.
Always great staff all emergency certified. Great price for all day use. Bring your own food or buy cheap. Plenty of tables and shade umbrellas. Free wifi. Rent or bring own equipment. All levels of riders.
Excellent place to go for a family barbecue, a picnic with husband.wife or that special person in your life. Yes, its very spacious for volleyball, soccer, baseball and horseshoe matches. Yet, have quite a few private areas for those who want to be alone. I find the park have clean restrooms and each time I had to use one of them they were well stocked with the necessities. Lake Cunningham skate park is awesome and the largest in Northern California. The director, managers and assistants work as a team to keep things neat and safe. The customer service is GREAT! They are on any emergency that occurs. Parents, who leave their children /pre-teens and teens for probably (some me time) TRUST the team because their children are watched. Assistants not a the check-in are out in the skating are. Most parents chose not to leave. Some enjoy in the fun with their children where others do work on their laptop. The new bike trails are spacious and awesome! I just cant find the words to describe it. Just looking at the bikers doing various things like taking a hill or seeing their bikes go up leaving the ground then back down not missing a beat is Exciting and fun to watch. I love seeing the beginners in their areas. I was so happy when the new play area finished. It is so nice to have an area for toddlers to age 10Oh, lets not for Lake Cunninghams park rangers. ON A scale of 1 - 10, they would receive an 11. They are friendly and jump right on a a situation. They also are team players. Thank you city of San Jose for such a beautiful park.
Great place for riding bikes and spending a summer afternoon.
Great action sports park.. Good place for people who love to do skate boarding, they have a huge skate park. The Staff are all fantastic.
Jumps need to be re-worked and its always windy. There are not a lot of places with this big of a park. Overall awesome place to spend a few hours here and there.
Braap! #bikelife
All the kids loved it. Plenty of picnic tables. Staff was friendly and responded quickly to the one injury we observed.
My kids love this sports park ... You can skateboard bmx or use your scooter of you dont own one you can get a rental for $5.00
It was awesome! Everybody was nice, kind, and sweet.New heels are great the skate park is still a lot of fun.
Wow great place dirt track are always closed though especially slope STYLE
Son always has a great time. Need more shade. Having to pay for parking into Cunningham and then pay for skate park is a little much. The have drinks and snacks. Everything you need for bike, scooter, skateboard. Its a cool place
Nice park, cool trail to walk the dogs or a family walk.
I come here about 3 days a week and its an amazing park the only thing bad about it is the scooters, all those scooter kids have no patience and do not wait their turn. Many accidents happen because of them. To wrap it up great park but scooters are losers
Browsed by. Impressive use of space. Much larger than expected.
Great place for the kids to let of some steam
Cunningham Park he s we have gone here a few times I found for birthday parties Ive gone there for car shows
They need to clean thw water so that we can go fishing again
Fun park in the valley, good place to practice some skills
Neat place. Good for all ages and skill ranges.
Great skate park
Dirt bike park. Good variety. Lots of easy & Intermediate for me. Rock gardens are a joke.
Enjoyed the area. Kept clean, lots of space for activities or games.
Nice place to go play pokemon go
Great place. Very friendly staff. The best skate park by far.Lots fun, stayed for hours.
This is the best skate park ever, ever nice people, have a shop, food/snacks for $1 and all out fun, 20/10 would go again
Big park with fun stuff for all skill levels.
So nice! Wow!!! A definite must-see park, and its right where you drive past every day... if you never stop in here, you have missed out, I will tell you what.
Theres no way 5$ cant bring you more fun anywhere else in the world!
Good for riding bowls and for grinds for kids like my son that learned 50 50 there.
Great fun big skatepa rk really helps try bigger tricks and both very and street
Paying for parking sucks, but everything else is cool. Park is clean, restrooms are ok.
Nice large park with a lake. Cant swim or fish in the lake, though. There is a fee for parking. Also, same area as Raging Waters
Fun jumpy hills
This is a great Skatepark with a lot of good bowls! The 22 Pipe run is awesome.
Small price for HOURS of fun and live music. Scooters, skateboards and bikes are allowed. Equipment rental available
Great vibe, good features for kids through pros. You have to pay, but its reasonable for a park in such a great shape.
Pretty dope. However its hard to get a good line and when the scooter kids are theyre terrible I wish they would not let in the scooter kids. I mean seriously these kids are dangerous theyre going to hurt you and themselves
Bit hot but fun trails
BEST SKATE PARK AND BIKE PARK IN THE WORLD
Geat place for the kids ! The staff are genuinely helpful and committed to providing an excellent experience .
This place is good for biking. Not good if you are on foot as animals feces are every where. More importantly the lake is very dirty and fish skeleton are everywhere
