Great little hidden park to chill and relax with some pretty awesome views of SF.
Really cant say anything other than that it is a gem. Actually found this place while on delivery duty!
Very peaceful visit here, was just what I needed. Pretty garden and awesome slides that hopefully will be open again soon.
What a lovely, family-oriented park. If you can’t bring your own cardboard, there’s usually some left over to use on the slides. Enjoy!
Get rid of the Seward. Ill leave when Im good and ready
The concrete slides were crazy fun. The park itself is quite scenic and the walk on our way there was even more so. We found plenty of cardboard to use while we were there. A word of caution: we witnessed an irate homeowner verbally scold a nice lady in front of her children for a bad parking job. Maybe park a few blocks away and just walk.
Cute, quiet neighborhood and very kind folx. Gorgeous garden up top and its maintained by locals. Please be respectful of this park by keeping excessive noise to a minimum.
Lovely little hideaway for talking with friends or just sitting and enjoying the garden.
Closed and beware of homeless sleeping by the top of slide
Quint and private neighborhood park
Fun little park with two slides that even adults can fit in. Conveniently located next to Kite Park, which has a great view of the city.
Fun little gem. You really only need to make a quick stop here, but its worth it. Bring your own cardboard!
Pretty sweet minus the homeless people at the bottom sleeping.
I went to this park many years ago quite drunk and had alot of fun on those slides.....but now that I think about it, I dont think Ive ever been here. Im pretty sure it was golden gate park actually. Nevermind. Im sure this park is cool too.
Its basically a giant slide and some benches - a really interesting use of the natural history. Slide is stone, so some people brought cardboard to make it easier to slide down. Surrounded by garden greenery.
Its one the most hidden parks on the city, and the views are wow!
Crazy fun for all ages! Even my 75-year mother enjoyed the slides. :) There was already cardboard at the slides so we didnt need to bring any. We went on a Friday and there were just a few smaller kids there who didnt stay long. There are two slides side by side so you can race. This was a fun time!
Awesome experience, no parking whatsoever ( I got very lucky) as the street is very narrow; I brought my own cardboard, but there were some left on the slide for others to use. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Cute for like 20 minutes. Bring the kids
It’s very tiny but with slides that are lots of fun.
San Francisco, off the beaten path! Make sure to slide down on the cardboard that’s usually laid out either at the top of the slides or around the bottom sand pit. Bring your kids, or if it’s a slow weekday, the adults can play. It’s fun no matter how old you are.
Awesome park for just having 2 slides
Fun
Remember it from my childhood and looking forward to taking my own child there. Awesome, perfect, hidden treasure.
The slides look super fun but the park is closed on Mondays. There are metal gates locking the slides. We made a special trip and were disappointed. Slides are open Tuesday-Sunday.
Remeber, all adults must be accompanied by children! Haha great slides!
Fun little pocket park, totally worth a quick detour for some fun pictures and videos.
Funny and thrilling slide! Good for kifs and thei parents too
Known for its gast high slides and a neighborhood private favorite its a great little park
Here, you can see many beautiful scenery.
Bring cardboard to sit on, good fun all ages.
Overall experience was okay . I also had issues with parking.
Nice staff. Big space. Variety of things to do.
Im a part kind of serious though I like parks and this is a good one too. Raymond is e right lally
Its good to unleash your inner kid sometimes . Loved it
Romantic and charming sea side View Point
If youre into being a big kid, the slides are worth a stop. Theyre in a very small park, and very steep. The parking in the area is tough, so plan on walking a block or two. Go when the kids are in school and the park is yours! Theres lots of spare cardboard to slide down on, but you can bring your own if you likeTip: They are VERY skinny! If youre on the over-weight side of the spectrum, this might not work out for you
Great views of downtown
Do you want to be a kid again? Do you like slides? Stop by the park, and bring some cardboard. Prepare to race a friend down the two story drop on the tandem concrete slides. Awesome spot for a first date. There was no second date, but who cares, because slides!
Beautiful views of San Francisco and native plants in bloom, cant ask for anything more from a park. Do be aware that the trolls are rough and narrow.
Got there and the slides were closed. Waste of time
Hard slides to find, but once youre there youll instantly turn into a child again. These slides were first introduced to me about 5 years ago and I dont remember them closing at sundown! I went last night and was unpleasantly surprised by the gates that were installed - all 3 rows so you cant enjoy any more than a 3 foot section at a time. When they are open (Sunrise to sunset) grab a piece of cardboard and get the slidin.
In 1973, the Eureka Valley Promotion Association - the oldest community organization in the City (1881) - was instrumental in creating this wonderful mini-park public space. With the worlds first curved slide, it has withstood the test of time and been enjoyed by children of all ages.
Another quaint and hidden find in the city! This place is fun for both children and adults with a sign even saying adults must be accompanied by children. :)Usually never crowded, the attraction of this mini park lies in the fast and steep cement slides which people come to ride by bringing scrap cardboard to sit on.After you walk up the side steps to get to the top, be ready for an exhilirating thrill going down this, because you slide FAST. Race a friend, bring your kids, and have a blast! Just be courteous to the residents living around this tucked away gem. :)
This is one of those hidden gems. Aside from the very fun concrete slide, the view is AMAZING, the garden is beautiful and there are benches to sit and enjoy watching people come down.
It’s literally two concrete slides right next to each other.
If you love this type of slide, youll really like this one. With a steep drop off about halfway down the slide, it will get your stomach up into your throat. BYOB tho (bring-your-own-box) because its pretty much self-service that way. Make sure to wear long sleeve shirts and pants too to prevent little scrapes from the friction. My 5 year old loved it after the initial anticipation he had....
Quaint little park that has amazing views of the city.
Have loved this park since when I was a kid. Too bad SFParks&Rec place grills across the slides effectively quashing all late-night sliding fun. But still a delightful park.
Fun novelty. Wonderfully located within the community. Times are strict but fair. Over all not much to do though.
I have been looking for this place for years! So glad to have finally found it!Bring your own cardboard or take your chances on some left behind. Two lanes side by side can be fun for racing a friend down a double story bobsled-like trough. Sign says adults need to have a kid present, and it looks like they are serious about quiet times. There is a big gate on the slides to prevent off hours giddiness.
I went here with my friend during my birthday just to check out and unfortunately, the slides were closed...Even though I didnt get the full experience, it was interesting seeing this park in the middle of this neighborhood. The houses were beautiful. The place was quiet.Id love to come back here again!
Pleasant peace moments with fresh air nature and myself.
A hidden gem in the city. The park is super tiny, but known for its concrete slides. This will definitely bring out the little kid in you, and your inner dare devil. The slides are pretty steep, so you get some decent speed. You might even catch a little air (as was my experience). There are usually pieces of cardboard at the park for you to use as your sliding mat (helps you go faster). For the real thrill seekers, you can add sand to help you go even faster (not my choice - it goes fast enough without the added help). A tip: keep you arms down by your side or you might bonk them if you catch air.
Slide is very fun. The cardboard can make you go a little too fast if youre not careful. That said, you wont regret it!
Super cute place! Be aware of the new hours: closed Monday, open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. They close off the slide with metal grills so you cant go down when the park is closed. However, you can still look at the park and community garden. If you visit, go up the hill past the garden and walk right down Corwin St to see Kite Hill Open Space, which has an incredible view of the city. Its a 5 minute walk from the park and very much worth it in my opinion.
I was there as an excited 13 year old when the slide opened in 1973. I remember being fascinated with the dry ice they used to keep the ice cream cups cold. Take care with young ones as the cement is hard and unforgiving. I know from experience. Cardboard is a must!
Old school fun exists
Such a fun little park. The slides are awesome -- and so fast. Adults can/do go down too. Awesome find
Grandkids loved it.
This is a great park. It is a bit difficult to find parking and is in a very hilly Nieghborhood, but it is worth the trip. There is a giant slide - even big enough for adults. From the bottom of the park you have to climb up stairs to the middle. There are two slides. Bring cardboard, as they are all concrete. A lot of people started out with cardboard, but then stopped using it. We had three kids with us on our visit. They were very excited. There were a few other children there at the time. I saw each kid slide down and then run back up right away. I dont know where they found the energy. The climb up the slide pretty serious. The top of the hill is beautifully landscaped and has a few parking spaces.
The slides here are actually pretty dangerous haha. Went with a few of my college friends and we were genuinely scared to go down. I would definitely advise to take caution and use cardboard to help you slide down. It was fun nevertheless. The slide is in a neighborhood between houses and its pretty small. So I wouldnt advise going out of your way just to see it.

Really a neat little gem in a beautiful city! Make sure you bring your own slicker cardboard to ensure an fun time!

Do not be scared to revisit the child in you, because trust me when I tell you that youll thank yourself for it later! Seward Slides is such a simple joy. You grab some cardboard, you walk up the hill, sit on the cardboard, & race your friend or any little human down the concrete slide! You probably have a better chance of beating your friend.. So Id say leave the little humans to their own races and you to your races. Good city favorite that can have you pass off as a local. Hurry along, yelpheads.
Have fun at your own caution, there is a sign that says all adults must accompany a child haha
Its a neat area. The slides were closed when we went, kind of a bummer. But looks like fun. The signs say no adults. But I dont know who enforces that?
So awesome! These slides are super fun and way steeper than I thought! Stopping here in the way up to twin peaks is the way to go
Great neighborhood. My family helped establish the park. Great fun!
If you want your inner child to live on, be sure to head to these slides! There are two so be sure to take a friend. The cardboard is at the bottom of the slide so grab it first because it helps with traction and helps you go quick. It is cross listed as a community garden. The views up there are great.
I blew a guy here, but then his friend shot me in the left kneecap. Not the worst Grindr hookup Ive ever experienced, but not one of the better ones either.
Brought my little sister (tween age) here from out of town, it was on her list of places to check out.It was pretty underwhelming for both of us. Didnt even go down the slide either coz the crowd of maybe 2 families was just taking over the whole small park.
Amazing so fun! Best to slide with cardboard and wax paper
Pretty cool slides in an unexpected/random location. If you are coming on foot, it is a steep trek up the hill from Castro. The slides can be pretty dirty and are not open on Sundays and during the day on weekdays. Make sure to come when they are open! Although it is called a mini park there is not much else besides the slides squeezed between the houses.
The best ever
Super fun, very nostalgic! Got a concrete burn on my arm though- remember to keep your arms tucked in while going down
Quiet Sunday stroll back home with coffee and phone in hand.
Fun little park-- I loved coming here as a young person.
What a great little park! They dont build slides like this anymore. This one is better than the others in GGP.
Beautiful views of San Francisco and native plants in bloom, cant ask for anything more from a park. Do be aware that the trolls are rough and narrow.
Super fun slides. I recommend bringing cardboard to slide on as you could wear out the seat of your pants if you side a lot.
We were so excited to visit the slides. Packed the cardboard, fired up the kids...arrived and the slides were barricaded and closed.
So fun! Manned with some cardboard the hubs and I were ready to slide!! Unfortunately, for some reason the slides were closed. However, the hubby and I rode the half that was open and that was fun! I cant imagine how much more fun it would be with the whole slide open.I googled and googled hoping to give a good tip to yelpers about how to find out the current status of the slides to no avail. The only way to find out would to call someone nearby to check for you which of course is nearly impossible.Warning: watch your footstep- My hubby stepped on poop while we were there. Seriously, pick up your doggies poop please???!!
But closed on Monday.. and hours are 10 to 5 Tuesday through Sunday.. crazy they actually lock the slide up
I can see how this used to be an awesome place, and that it probably still is for kids. But if youre an adult looking to try out the famous slides, youre kind of out of luck. The neighbors arent too keen on the noisy visitors that the park attracts to their hood, so the slides have been locked up. You can kind of slide down them, but it really isnt the same.
