We went to twin peeks first and then we head to this hidden stairs. I loved it! I don’t know how long this has been here but it’s really nice. The neighborhood it’s also pretty safe and quiet. When we went it was empty. We run into an other person which was nice because we got to take each other’s pics. Also I love how there are plants and succulents on the area.

Stunning & beautiful!!! I absolutely love public art; having a public garbage can, a transformer box, or the support beam of a subway stop painted by an artist just makes everything more beautiful, but these stairs are on another level! The mosaic tile art is so colorful and beautiful - Ive attached pictures so you can see for yourself. And the stairs themselves are shallow, so theyre easy to walk up without getting winded.

Hidden Garden Steps are located quite far away from the tourist attractions. But this is just an incredible art piece, as there are mosaic tiles on each step which creates one big mosaic ‘painting’ if you look at them all at once.Really beautiful!

Such a nice mosiac tile staircase, this is! However, the steps are truly hidden. Goggle maps took us to the top of the stairs, and since its in a residential area, there was no parking. If you drive around the corner however, you will not miss the staircase and the sign is there as well. We had a good time climbing and counting the stairs. We went during the early morning, so we had the staircase all to ourselves. Im so happy I stopped by.

This is another set of mosaic steps in the Sunset neighborhood. These relatively brand new and beautiful steps are good looking with colorful designs.Walking up and down the stairs will give you a good workout for the day.Since these steps are less well-known, there are less tourists there. Thus, you can easily have all these steps to yourself during your visit.Remember to bring a jacket since it is usually windy here.

These were my favorite steps in the whole city! The artwork and detail is so beautiful. My suggestion is heading to these steps first, hiking up them (it’s not too bad), and then walking upward you’ll then find the 16th Avenue steps, and once you climb those you can go to the overlook. It made for a good journey and allowed us to see all the beautiful art. If you don’t feel up to trekking up both sets of stairs, or walking over to the 16th Avenue ones, the view once at the top of the hidden garden steps is worth it.

The hidden garden steps were pretty cool. The mosaics were made into flowers, butterflies and other garden-related things. Once you climbed the steps on 16th street, you take a right and go through this cute neighborhood a short distance to find the stairs to heaven mosaic stairway. I only gave 4 stars because I had no idea the two mosaic steps were linked. I guess that’s why it’s hidden. Noted! 5 stars!!

These steps are hidden between houses. Just follow google map direction to reach here. If you start from the top then go down without looking back. Once you are at last step then look behind and you will be amazed by the art painted on the steps. You can also take very beautiful pictures of city from these steps.

These steps are a beautiful use of public space and especially representative of the San Francisco aesthetic. A garden of native California flora lies alongside the colorfully painted steps. Visit on a cloudless day and youll be rewarded with a view overlooking the Inner Sunset and Golden Gate Park.

Beautiful tiled steps to walk and admire nestled in the Inner Sunset District. This little neighborhood gem would not set your wallet back but may take your breath away. Walk to top for some skyline views. Be mindful of the surroundings in regards to parking and noise. The quiet neighborhood has sensitive ears. Enjoy the sights, snap some selfies and move on. Try to visit the nearby 16th Avenue Tiles Steps too!

Beautiful staircase with mosaics amidst the residential neighborhood. Not too crowded when I went in the afternoon and provides for a great photo op if youre in the area. This is also very close to another 16 Avenue Tiled steps which are also colorful mosaic tiled steps. I think the difference is that the hidden garden has a lot more greenery around and more shade and hence the name Hidden garden. I recommend starting from Grand view park to soak up the 360 degree views of San Francisco city, followed by getting down from 16th avenue steps and finally reaching Hidden garden. This route also makes sense since youll be going downhill, hence less tiring! Ofcourse feel free to reverse it if youre looking for a workout instead haaa! Hope you like my suggestion.

Nice place to check out that wont take up too much time of your day. Parking is easy to find in this area. Steps seemed to be well maintained. There wasnt much people at this location when I went, but large groups seemed to tour at this spot as part of their itinerary. Be sure to head up the 16th Ave tiled steps that isnt too far from this location.

I love walking up these steps! Its great exercise, great local art, and a great garden. From there, you can turn right at the top of the staircase, walk through the nice neighborhood while getting good views of and between the houses, then arrive at another great tiled staircase.Climb this next beautiful staircase, also with tiles and gardens, and at the top, turn right again, take a little staircase, turn right, and go to the wooden steps that leads to an amazing hilltop park, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views 360 degrees! All real, all wonderful, all free, all for you.Youll feel it in your legs, but youll appreciate it in your soul.

Off the beaten path of tourist attractions...but fun to stop at if you are heading up turtle hill. Lots of people like to stop and do selfies here. I liked to read all the names of people who donated to make the hidden steps special. It was nice and kept well the first time I was there last year, but it seems to have been neglected lately. The steps themselves are still great. It is just the vegetation around it. Regardless of the current look, it is still a spot to recommend to those that seek a hidden beauty around the city.

It is really nice. Each set of stairs have a theme. It has been renovated not long ago as you can see in the pictures.Do not hesitate to go all the way up to go see the next set of stairs (tiles steps).Climb all the stairs because there is actually a lot to see all the way up that you would not see when you stay at the bottom.

I found these lovely mosaic steps unexpectedly while on my way to the Moraga Steps. Right next to a comely garden of native flora, these steps offer a whimsical spring -like design. Its a beautiful view from afar, Id suggest walking up the steps slowly to catch the striking details of the steps. Its definitely a hidden gem in the Sunset District. I find all of the mosaic steps in San Francisco (there are four) gorgeous, but this one is my favourite.Another note, from the near top of the steps, youll get a beautiful view of the area.

Located in the Sunset District of SF, there are 2 staircases within 2-3 blocks from one another.1. Ocean Life is blue hues of mosaic tiles depicting sea life. 16th Ave / Moraga2. Hidden Garden is yellow/orange colors, depicting a floral garden. 16th Ave / KirkhamBoth are approximately a 100+ step climb, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I highly recommend visiting these hidden gems, between 1-5pm when the sun is facing & reflecting off the mirrored tiles, giving it a glistening effect. However there are days the fog (Carl) lingers closely, & can put a damper on this effect. Also, anytime of year you visit SF, ALWAYS carry a hoodie.
