Museum of ice cream is the cutest museum I’ve ever been. Was a great experience with kids and my family. It’s little pricey and so hard to get schedule. But was a lot of fun. We spent like 1 hour or a little more inside. Full of surprises in every room. The decorations are so cool inside. All staff were helpful and nice. Didn’t know they gonna gave me food (which is the best part. Lol) Free cup of ice cream throughout every single room. Me and my family had a great time there. Recommended for family and kids even adults, you gonna have fun there.PS. I wish they clean the pool at least once a week.

Fantastic place for the kid in everyone. The highlight was...apart from the amazing and enthusiastic team of people working there and the loads of ice cream that you get to eat.... Is the play area in the end. The sprinkles pool!!! See pics!!! One could spend hours there. Perfect for your profile pics for any social media platforms and more! Plenty of corners and backdrops for you to take pics. Oh and the best part... The entrance... First of all everyone needs an ice cream name!!! And next you can take a slide down to the main floor where they have ice cream related facts and history and trivia. Post which you get a cotton candy! And then a room with skin friendly crayons to brighten up your face I dont want to spoil all the surprises but not your average museum A must visit for the entire family

Worth more than five stars. The staffs were very friendly, funny and nice. Wherever you stand, it will be your photo zone. Its neither only for children nor for girls. If youd like to go, just make an hour for yourself, and you wont regret. If you have some time in SF and dont know what to do there, I recommend MOIC. Just remember, youll need an ice cream nickname for yourself

Museum dedicated to Ice Cream - can I get an Ice Creme of Genie All My Wishes Have Been Granted - AhMen! It snows outside, thats a nice touch. Free ice creme, but you can only move forward, not backward, just like life! Cheery hosts, but you will drop a coin on the gift shop as you exist. You must get tickets for your specified date, and time. A nice mix of locals, but mostly tourists. No outside food is allowed in. The sprinkles pool is made up of very realistic sprinkles, which will find its way to your clothing pockets. Come hungry, and with a lighting unit for brighter, better online photos. $$$ out of $$$$$ I would recommend The Museum of Ice Creme.

I loved this place! I went during a weekday, when there wasnt a crowd and was amazed. To begin, we went down a slide (how fun is that!), then we were greeted with our first treat. Each ice cream lady/man made us feel so special with their smiles and engaging personalities. We then played dressed up and had a good giggle with each other. Then it was off to the ice cream parlor with the Juke box, (so cool). It felt like I was in the movie Grease. Lets, not forget, that each spot is a perfect picture opportunity. Not done yet, after the second treat, we were off to make an oragami of hearts or ice cream. The host was so patient and helped us with our creations. O another treat followed that too, so have your sweet tooth prepared. Next were the candy rides, unicorns, mirror dance room, the pink alphabet wall and finally, the feature presentation, the finale.....The POOL of sprinkles. My kids had a blast! We dived in and out, swam, floated and utterly enjoyed every sprinkle goodness of that pool. It was Amazing! I read some reviews that spoke of the high price, but it is totally worth it for the experience. However, I can see how the experience may be sullied, if the place is crowded. So get there early and on a weekday maybe, you wont regret it.

This place is so cute and so much fun, you go through different rooms of the museum and each room has a different theme! They have this one room called the sprinkle room. Its a room with a pool filled with sprinkles!!!! You can jump in there and play around, my daughter had so much fun! Oh and did I mention that every room you visit, you get to eat ice cream???!!!! That was the best part!!!Overall this place is worth the visit. We all had so much fun! Just FYI you cant buy tickets at the door. Everything is done online.

I believe this is a great place for young kids and family. My husband and I went after 2 glasses of wine, so the experience was a bit enhanced. It was very short and even at 8pm at night there were alot of people. We didnt get to do the sprinkle pool, there were too many people. But we took some nice pictures and the ice cream was tasty.

Very cute museum with so many things to see and do! You have to go in one direction only so you cannot go backwards, you have to enjoy each attraction only once. The service is very happy and upbeat! The tickets are very expensive and there is no way to avoid the service fee when you buy tickets, in person or online. At the end the woman in the gift shop was registering people to vote and gave me a free ice cream scoop!

Like Sleep No More meets Waiting for Godot. What an incredible commentary on modernity and the contemporary self-image. The most profound museum experience ever.Immerse yourself in the emptiness inherent in the hopeless pursuit of happiness. Revel in the artifice that floods your social media feeds. Imagine yourself feeling joy, snap the picture, move to the next room, repeat. No other artist since Matthew Barney has gone as all-in on such a singular concept. There are no seams, no curtains to pull back. This is exactly what it is. Which is nothing. You turn corner after corner, expecting for something, anything, to HAPPEN, and are left with the realization that this experience, and perhaps all of life, is meaningless.

This place was so much fun. Made for lots of cute photos. You get little treats along the way, ice cream, pop rocks, cotton candy etc. I think you get about 5 treats. You get to stay in each room for as long as you want and take all your photos which I liked. The only thing I didn’t really like was the sprinkle pool. It was a it smelly since everyone takes their shoes off and there was so many people in it at the same time which sucked because the time is limited. I wish they would allow smaller groups in at a time, then I wouldn’t mind it being limited. You also run through this place pretty quick if you’re excited enough. I think we were there for about an hour and a half. Staff was very cheerful and friendly. Overall had a really nice time, just wish the tickets were a bit cheaper for what you get.

As an instgrammable experience, this was probably alright. It’s partly my fault for not reading through the description, but this isn’t really a museum per se. very excited staff walk you through a “tour” of colorful hallways which eventually leads to a poo full of colorful plastic chips. It’s a glorified ice cream shop more than anything, reasonable ice cream. But nothing that actually has anything to do with the history of ice cream.

The ticket price is a little high, but they do give you a free little treat in nearly every room so it kind of softens the price a little bit.Pro tip:Try to come early if possible to beat the crowd. A fun photo op! We spent 1.5 hrs here. Know in advance: This is not an educational experience. This is a pop-up with multiple small rooms that have unique ice cream inspired art installations. There are ice cream and treats in certain rooms, and theyre pretty tasty! Its a one way path-- Once you exit a room, you cant return to it. You can take your time in the rooms except the sprinkle pool (2 min only). If you enjoy taking photos for social media, this place was designed for you.

It’s ok but does not live up to the hype. The workers are nice but you can tell they have been coached to over-act and be way happier and bouncier than normal and you can feel the facade. When we started, our tour guide told us not to give them a bad review because if we had a bad time it was because we didn’t appreciate or understand the museum in the correct manor. They instructed us on how we should enjoy the museum and that is why I think we didn’t like it. Not everyone has the same imagination and should be free to explore in the way that makes them comfortable. They give you treats but most are pretty bland although we loved the ice cream sandwiches.

Its an ok place to visit, they make you wait in queue outside till you turn comes.I am not sure why they give time slots when you have to stand outside for another 20-25 min to get in. They have few rooms with beautiful colors and mirrors inside that makes for a good pic background. We were given 4 samples to taste, I like some of them but not all. The sprinkle pool is made of plastic sprinkle, all the kids had fun there. After tour you can buy ice cream from the shop, it is not included in the ticket. The tickets prices are on higher side.

Sooo when I went they had a special pinkmas expo in the museum, it was adorable!!!! I absolutely loved it, they had sooo many photo ops and cute things where you could pose for pictures.I was a solo traveller and every staff member was beyond helpful and up for taking a picture of me (or a hundred) and everyone was very friendly.Really cool place, however, Id recommend to come here only if youve already been sightseeing in San Francisco before or you have a couple of days free time and want to do something different.Be aware, its a bit pricey for what it actually is if you ask me.The decoration was all pretty clever actually, and on theme which I liked.I cant attest to the flavor of any of the treats they give in each room, as Im plant-based and couldnt try anything. My favorite part was the sprinkles pool, it makes for a great and instagram worthy picture setting! The only thing, is that it smells a bit bad as people go in barefoot and in socks only, but not much different than the ones kids use for exampleVery very fun, especially for children and to feel like a kid yourself, but all in all, I wouldnt come back and do it a second time, unless it had a bit more interaction or maybe a different location?

I was pleasantly surprised on how well this museum was done! When I signed up to go to the museum with my kids, I assumed it would be hokey. I was shocked how well the employees played into this and how well it was put together. Best part of all is my kids had a blast and it was my daughters highlight of our trip to S.F. Similar to the color factory where you enter different rooms to get a different experience. Not much depth in terms of history and learning with each exhibit.Basically you are presented in a colorful room for photo opportunities. Unlike the color factory, there arent as many photo/video kiosk, so your photos together is reliant on other goers if you wanna a group photo. I suppose you can ask the attendant in each room but most attendants are busy with there assigned duties. There are ice cream and related treats to sample. But it really isnt worth the hype or the hassle to get the tickets. My favorite room is probably the rock candy room. And attendant there was very sweet and she took an amazing picture of us.Your experience really depends on the group you enter the museum with. Even though the entries are staggered, if you have people in your group that like to monopolize each exhibit and takes hundreds of pictures and are inconsiderate, you can end up waiting and have another group right up your ass.

Just one wall on the way out with a few facts. I would love to see a lot more! Lets educate the guests, especially the kids, as they come through. The ice cream was pretty poor also. The museum is really visually stunning and impressive. I enjoyed the fun take on ice cream offered on the tour, the friendly and enthusiastic staff, and the interactive exhibits. However, you shouldn’t expect to see a lot of the exhibits in the Google photos. There are about 5-6 rooms with different environments, but that’s all. I was shocked and a bit disappointed when it ended. Also, the sprinkle pool isn’t real sprinkles (I totally get why, I just thought they would be based on previous things I’ve seen. Finally got to MOIC!!! Tickets were so hard to come by last year that we couldnt fit it into our schedule. Well, we went for a 13th birthday with an adult, the birthday girl, and a Her 7 year old sister. All of us had a blast!MOIC is now permanently housed in a beautiful old bank building and had a Pinkmas theme which was gorgeous. We had an AMAZING Hostess, Aliyah, and the entire staff made the birthday girl feel extra special and gave Her little extras the whole time we were there. There were sweet treats throughout the tour, as many as you like. Everyone enters the tour by going down a tube slide(even the grown ups) and you can stay in every room as long you like; however, you can only move forward, so no returning to a previous room. We stayed a little over 2 hours. Its definitely Instagram worthy, so come with patience as many folks are there for the great photos. The theme was a seasonal one, though the Sprinkle Pool at the end of the tour is permanent. The gift shop has a very limited amount of (overpriced, as is expected) items: we got 3 items, including a really cute ice cream ornament for less than$40. The gift bags are really cute, too.VERY IMPORTANT CAVEAT!!!: There is only ONE bathroom once you exit the tour. Meaning ONE, PRIVATE BATHROOM WITH ONE TOILET.So, please stop at the bathrooms along the way throughout the tour BEFORE the Sprinkle Pool room because the line is very long for the one bathroom at the end. Trust me, a 22 minute wait for a 7 year old to go potty is not fun.All in all, it was a great way for anyone of any age to spend a birthday or any day.

Actually what does this place have to do with ice cream? Still trying to figure that one out. If you like fun houses like those at a state fair, this will appeal (maybe). It even includes a ring toss game, swings and ping pong table. Ping pong? If you are expecting more, go elsewhere. If you like the color pink, you will never want to leave. This place would be a good fit for Pier 39.

We finally got to visit MOIC yesterday and I must agree with other reviews, museum is not what I would call it. Yes, there are some facts that you pick up about ice cream history but not enough to call it a museum. The Staff are a bubbly bunch. We had fun during the visit but I saw other Families and Couples feel quite rushed. You are told by the guides to take your time in every room as one cannot back track. Then, if you do take your time you are told to move onto the next room which is contradictory especially in this age of selfies. If you are the neat freak, expect to leave a trail and maybe even take home some sprinkles from the sprinkle pool as the air hoses provided in the shower room did not suffice. Skip this room altogether if you are not the have fun no matter what person. The treats were good, our favorite was the mint chocolate mochi and cotton candy. There is a store at the end of the visit if you want to buy some memorabilia or ice cream.

This is one way to spend your morning or afternoon. But a better option would be: doing anything else.

We were so surprised at how much fun we had at the museum. It started off a little slow because there was a big line before we were allowed to move forward to the first themed room with the sprinkle pool. This museum is an Instagramer’s dream! Ice cream themed rooms, interactive activities, ice cream, soft serve sorbet, popsicle, cotton candy, Mochi, swings, table tennis and so much more. Tickets are a bit pricey, but all the laughs made it well worth it. We are still finding sprinkles around.I do not think the sprinkle pool is Accessible by wheelchair because you must go up stairs. But they do have plans to close and remodel in April so they could be changing it. Call ahead or view their website to confirm their hours of operation.

Great idea, this could be something extended vs just a pop up. Wished they had bathrooms at the start of the tour but you have to wait like 45ish minutes into it, but they did tell us at the entrance bathrooms were a bit into the tour. Would have liked some of the souvenirs to have had San Francisco on them, since it was a location I visited. Or at least the ability to go online and order a location shirt, or hat where the city you visited is printed on the item. Also, I like the Japanese ice cream, and thought it would have been cool or it could be a cool addition to try ice creams from other countries. All in all good for both kids & adults.

I loved the museum of ice cream! Loved the interaction between the workers and visitors! Great for adults and kids! The best part is you actually get to try some ice cream! I gave it a four star because I thought it needed more backdrops/ backgrounds for taking selfies! But the overall experience was fun! The location is perfect, if you don’t feel like driving you can take the public transportation (BART) Bay Area Rapid Transit....Check it out and scream for ice cream

The kids LOVED it. It was nice how they had an ice cream sample around every corner. I would suggest they keep more napkins readily available. The sprinkle pool was the highlight, but, Im still finding random sprinkles in my house lol.

In short, the museum of ice cream is an interactive San Francisco art exhibit. Was quite surprised and impressed with the layout and vibes. Streamlined process. Ticket times are slightly arbitrary to ensure there is not an over flow through the exhibit. My advice it to take your time and look at everything. There are many hidden gems throughout the museum to discover and be a part of. The museum will touch on most of your senses (sight, sound, touch, and taste). Only downside for me was that there was not enough hand sanitizer stations and after leaving the museum the bathroom line was super long. Be sure to bring your own hand sanitizer if you care about little germies :)

We had so much fun! They are doing a really cool theme right now, and it was really sweet. I was a little disappointed at the ice cream offerings throughout the museum, but that didnt negatively affect the experience. The gift shop at the end is really awesome.

Really loved it here. It was great for pictures and they also gave ice cream along the way. We found parking in a parking garage and then walked the rest of the way. Definitely come early for parking.
