Fun, cool little spot to stop by while in Haas-Lilienthal House. We only spent about 15 minuets here and got some cool pictures. My daughter loved it. At night it looks much better with all the lights on. The guard will stop you if you try climbing the posts so good luck trying!

We really enjoyed our time here. Its a great example of upper middle class life in San Francisco. The details we learned from the tour were so interesting, as were the family photos. They had the very first example of a drinking water filter, a magic chef stove, and other details. Its used as a site for weddings now.

Beautiful old home with period details. You can rent this for events in 4 hour blocks of time though it is expensive. There is a main floor with front parlor, dining room and small room plus kitchen. Downstairs has a large open room for events that seating can be added, and upstairs has a master bedroom and child bedroom but I dont think you can do much with that space other than just tour it.

House was fascinating however we were there for a dance performance piece and so the house really became the backdrop rather than the star of the night. Well worth a second visit.

We enjoyed the example Victorian homes in San Francisco. The rooms have complete furniture, almost all original to the house. The docent pointed out pieces not original. We enjoyed the docent led tour. I think there was plenty of research performed for the house, but I did doubt some facts the docent discussed.I recommend visiting and enjoying the tour.

My husband and I got married here, and while I can not speak for the docent-led tours I can say that the house is beautifully furnished (enough so that we didnt feel the need to add nearly any extra decorations); after renovations, it is now wheelchair-accessible from the right side of the house (with an elevator to aid passage between floors) and the lighting in the ballroom is brighter than we had been led to expect from some of the pictures on the website. (If youre planning on DJing your own wedding, make sure you remember to bring the Bose stereo downstairs; the built-in sound system in the ballroom has a built-in volume limit.) The events coordinator was flexible and very understanding when we had to postpone the wedding due to delays in visa processing, which was a great help to us, particularly as I had to plan a lot of the wedding from across the country. All in all, its really a gem of a house; if youre considering it, Id strongly suggest scheduling a visit to see it for yourself. And wedding rentals include a one-year membership to SF Heritage for couples! I look forward to visiting again when the work in the back garden is complete.

Really enjoyed our visit here and it was great to get a feel for how some of the rich lived before the earthquake and fire. Our guide knew a lot about the history and had some great stories to tell. A beautiful home and well worth the entrance fee, especially as there arent many such home left, at least not ones open to the public.

This Victorian house in the middle of Dan Fransisco is a great way to see cool architecture, learn about the traditions of Victorian times and learn about the citys past. The tour guides were knowledgeable and the tickets were cheap (with a $1 discount if you have a AAA membership). I would definitely reccomending this to visitors of the city and natives alike.

I had the great pleasure of attending this last year and was so blown away by it that me and my family starting organizing a group immediately for this year. This years script fell short of last years ( which seriously was a masterpiece ) I felt the script for this year was a skeleton version of last years without the brilliance and fullness. Last year there was a very clear narrative with well executed scare features to match. My ten year old loved it but was seriously spooked. This year not so much. What separates this event from other haunted house experiences is that it is theatrical and depends on the history of the house making it into a gothic nightmare . As I said, last year was a complete theatrical experience . This felt like a thin appropriation .The yard scene was great for us while standing in line though but repeated too many times in the spook-easy .I will return next year with the hopes that the creators of 2014 are in on the writing .
