Stepping inside the conservatory is like being transported to paradise. A very humid, tropical one. The building itself is magnificently designed to accommodate the wealth of natural beauty inside. The giant water lilies were my favorite display. There is a small admission fee, but it is worth every cent and more. Make sure to pay a visit, especially on those fog warped, chilly San Francisco days. You will not be disappointed.

An amazing place to go see beautiful plants. Really enjoyed seeing all the different species. My wife and I started a small jungle in our house during Covid, it was really fun to see some of the plants we have in the conservatory! Since we are still in the pandemic, staff was great at making sure visitors were safe!

The most unusual and magical evening!Drive or take transit. Bike or walk. Just go! See the rain forest at night with a fabulous light display. Breathtaking! The employees could NOT have been nicer! We brought our 86 year old mother and we should have called ahead to learn about handicap accessible ramps. They even lent us a wheel chair to help get her to the car. Amazing welcome, great security, plant experts scattered throughout demonstrating and teaching, a heated food tent with drinks and a place to have a group of friends or visiting family over the holidays. A BEAUTIFUL and brilliant light display making a ho hum garden into an experience like that of a fantasy play or movie. Enchantment. Dont miss it.

I love coming here. Its like a tropical refuge chilly SF. Every inch inside is incredibly beautiful and the price isnt overwhelming. It always seems worth it - Im even considering a membership. The only thing I might like to improve are the signs detailing what each plant is, and maybe some interesting things about it

I absolutely love the indoors of this place. The indoor botanical lab gives a feeling of going back to the 1800s London. It has an interesting feel in the atmosphere. Many beautiful flowers to check out and the variety is amazing. Good place for photography. Would definitely recommend coming here.

So many beautiful flowers, butterflys, and other insects. Be aware itll be humid inside but not excessive that you cant enjoy the sights and smells. You wont regret bringing a camera or having your phone free. Therell be plenty of opportunities to take pictures, selfies, and of course groupies amongst the beauty inside. Of course outside is spectacular as well, however during our visit they were replacing or grooming the plants and flowers and I didnt feel comfortable taking photos of the volunteers while they were working. In conclusion, lol, this will be worth the donation and your time!

Cool touristy thing to do for locals and tourists. The tropics have a lot of wonderful plants, flowers and orchids to admire. Plan of spending 20-45 mins unless you are a biology or botany geek or just like the tropics or are stuck with your girl/wife/significant other who loves flowers and plants and bug eating plants and all that. Kids friendly spot.

I havent been to the SF Conservatory of Flowers during the day, but we did go for their nighttime event in the winter season, Nightbloom. The flowers and plants were beautifully lit up! The lighting was really well done and extremely colorful. The lights gave a new perspective to viewing flowers. However, it was crowded inside (the aisles are narrow). Some people walked through quickly. One family even took photos almost like a photo shoot, holding up areas or getting in your view. As for the event itself, I would say it was managed ok. It felt kind of new, not thoroughly planned. The play area outside was not worth visiting and the shop was more like a mini booth. There werent many food choices. There was a grilled cheese stall that made the shop filled with smoke from the grill. Overall the conservatory was gorgeous and worth viewing/admiring. I give 5 stars because the main event (lit flower viewing) was beautiful and because there is a lot of good potential for the event to improve for next year.

My only warning is that some of the rooms are quite hot and humid, so bring a hand fan if that will effect you.
