It was a very fun experience.Todd was an excellent instructor, very patient and knowledgeable!
We have recently had a teen birthday party for our daughter at the Art School of the Bay, and were very pleased with it. We worked with teacher Maria to communicate regarding the event organization. Maria was very kind to accommodate our needs of party of 10.We chose a Studio Ghibli/Miayazaki animation theme for the party, and kids sketched and drew under Marias attentive and gentle guidance. We also used the studios backyard where we arranged snacks, refreshments and a birthday cake. The studio has a small kitchen and a fridge. Maria also kindly provided folding tables and chairs, which was very convenient.
Cant recommend enough. I inquired with the Art School of SF Bay to complete a freelance commissioned art piece (painting) based off of a photo that I had taken (great gift idea!). They set me up with a student from the Advance Teens Class who was able to provide samples of their work, artistic guidance, as well as sketches and feedback throughout the process. The artist turned the finished work (acrylic 10X20 stretched canvas) around in about ~ 2 weeks from time of quotation. The end piece turned out better than I could have imagined and the price was extremely competitive. Thank you so much Art School of SF Bay Team!
This is an updated review for Art School of SF Bay summer camp. This year Ive signed up my daughter to the Fan Art camp. She absolutely loved it! She kept showing me her artwork and even made an Open Studio at the end of the week to show everybody in the family her paintings. She has already asked me to sign her up for the next year again.Thank you Art School of Bay team to making her summer fun and exciting!------My 6 year old daughter absolutely loved Natures little gems camp in San Francisco! Julia and Katia are the two teachers and my daughter really liked them. Every day she would come home with great pictures and every evening she would ask me if she can go to this camp again and again. Her work was way more sophisticated and advanced than anything Ive seen so far. This camp is really educational and fun at the same time. There is even a backyard where kids can run around. Definitely signing her up for more camps and if our schedule permits I would love to sign her up for classes next fall.
My husband and I attended David’s art class (for adults) and it was amazing! David was an incredible teacher- his knowledge and explanations were so helpful and both of us felt that our understanding and techniques visibly improved week by week. The course content was wonderful for skill building as well as being varied and fun. I would 100% recommend David’s SF class! Thank you David!! :-)
My daughter is a student at Art School two years and loves classes so much. A program is great, teachers are highly qualifie, and an atmosphere is fantastic. Thanks a lot for happy time!
Great program for adults: in advanced adult classes the instructor is highly skilled, patient and fun. There is a strong methodology, but it could be adjusted to students skills and interests.
My teen loved this camp. The instructors were wonderful, helpful, but also gave space for the creative process. We ended up with two more weeks of camps because our first one was such a success.
Great experience - my 14 year-old enjoyed the new skills in Digital Paining class and the time (9-12) was ideal (not too long). I can highly recommend it!
Great camp. My kids had a really good time. Talented teachers and fun place. I wish though it was a little longer day for the price. $250 for3 hours a day for 5 days felt steep to me.
Best adult art classes! Amazing supportive teachers, Maria especially, created fruitful atmosphere that helped me to connect with my inner artist. Absolutely recommend these classes for any level! Discover yourself - take the class.
My daughter attended an art camp in this studio two summers in a row. She enjoyed it a lot. She learned about art history, different techniques, and rules of drawing landscapes, human figures, and portraits. This knowledge stays with her, and her drawings are much more mature now.
My 8 y.o. daughter goes there. What an amazing experience! For the past year she learned a lot about different art styles and technics of painting as well as sculpturing. Bonus: they provide all the art materials. I would highly recommend this school.
My son love SF bay school.
Great summer camp at Art School of San Francisco Bay! My 11 years old attended their Manga camp with Julia. She loved it so much that already asks to be signed up for weekly lessons and nexts year camp.
Tl;dr: Excellent course on digital painting, fantastic tutorsI found the Art School of SF Bay while looking for one-day workshops. I had a short trip to San Francisco and was trying to cram in some art classes during the weekends. This was one of the few art schools that had a digital painting course and I emailed them asking if they had any one-day workshops I could join. Maria reached out to me within a few hours and suggested a few options for a private workshop. I was thrilled to see the teacher for the Digital painting class was available and signed up for it right away.Ive signed up for private workshops in other schools during my previous trips and have usually left most of them feeling like I havent learnt a lot. Theres only so much you can do in 2-3 hours. But in this case, I got so much from the first session, I signed up for another session the same day.Jeongwoo, who teaches the Digital Painting course, is an amazing artist and a fantastic teacher; a combination hard to come by. In the first few minutes of the class, it was evident hes a pro on Photoshop. I have been trying to self-learn for a while but I learned more about Photoshop in the first 30 minutes of the class than I have watching hours of videos. What I really liked about his sessions is that he works along with you, so you can see what a professional level piece looks like. I was also impressed by the amount of time and effort he put in to plan the sessions. For the second session he suggested that we spend some time on traditional drawing before going digital and Im glad we did. I felt like I got a master class on Portrait drawing and there was a significant improvement in my piece compared to the first session. All in all, Ive found a new favorite Art school and know where Ill be spending my weekends during my future trips!
I took adult classes and absolutely loved them!
