Hard to say how influential and awesome the box shop is. a true community of people who make on the largest of scales. always someone to learn from, always a helping hand.

Amazing art space

An amazing industrial space where artists create large scale art. Not open to the public, but many of the groups working here welcome new members. Theres nothing else like this in San Francisco.

A one-of-a-kind industrial art space, and home to the Flaming Lotus Girls and their incredible flaming sculptures. I have felt so welcomed and at home here as a new member of FLG; so so grateful that workshops like this still exist in the Bay Area!

One of the last places in SF to make industrial art. Great community in an awesome location. Home to a lot of artists who show at Burning Man and beyond. Not open to the public but its easy to get involved and invited to help with a project based in the Box Shop.

This is a really cool spot

The heart of the San Francisco industrial arts community, the Box Shop is home to the Flaming Lotus Girls and a dozen independent artists who rent shop space and fabricate amazing works of art.

The Box Shop is unique on this side of the bay. If youre an artist whose artistic ambitions dont fit inside an overpriced and undersized SF apartment, then The Box Shop just might be what you need.

Art center focused on metal work. Shipping containers for storage and personal work space, with large shared shop and yard with welders and such.

Not exactly a tourist destination.
