Saw a wonderful performance of A Christmas Story. I loved it! Lots of very talented kids and adults too!

Went to see Crazy For You with a group of seventeen from Academy of Dance Arts and had a most wonderful experience. I saw the Broadway production of Crazy For You many years ago. I assumed that this production wouldnt be able to compare....I was wrong. The show I saw Sunday was the most professional show Ive seen put on by a community theater group. The casting, directing, sets, chreography, costumes, and cast all spot on. All of you associated with this production should be very proud of all your hard work and the long hours it took to create such wonderful entertainment.Thank you and thanks to the Gershwins, whose music was introduced to a new generation through your efforts.

Lots of great venues to choose from. Every seat in the theatre is fantastic. The performers are talented (acting & singing), entertaining and engaging. Reasonably priced.

Saw Man of La Mancha. The sets, performances, and vocals were astounding. The levels on the speakers were a little off at the beginning, but they evened out by the end. If you have an opportunity to see something here, please do. Its worth the fight for parking. They put on great quality shows.

Most recent visit was to see She Loves Me, playing thru March 8th at the historic and intimate Horton Grand Theatre! What a perfect venue for watching live theatrical productions. Big enough to give a a BIG broadway feel yet intimate enough where there is not a bad seat in the house. Home to San Diego Musical Theatres year round productions - I can not wait to see RENT, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, 42nd Street, Little Shop of Horrors and finally, a San Diego Favorite - A Christmas Story! I cant wait to see how this theater transforms into each show as they did such a remarkable job for She Loves Me! A true gem!

We attended the showing of Young Frankenstein with friends on Friday night. This is our second time at this venue. We attended “Mixed Tapes” a few years back.The venue itself is nothing special, but it’s small, so any seat will do. But we were in the 3rd row, which was great.Their production of Young Frankenstein is fantastic. It’s extremely funny, and a little bit sexy too. It mimics they movie very well.My favorite was Christine Hewitt as Frau Blucher. SO FUNNY! I was also impressed with the singing. Special kudos to Melina Kalomas as Elizabeth. What pipes!. Showing off that wedding ring until the final curtain!The monster was extremely funny too. And was that Gene Wilder up there playing Frederick Frankenstein! Wow!Really, every character - Igor, Inga, inspector Kemp - was fantastic. Best show I’ve been to in many years.

Lovely small venue with a production fit for a large theater hall. Man of La Mancha is what I saw on opening night and it was excellent. Im an out of towner and this was a great evening activity!!

Great Venue with Great Productions. Cant say enough good things about the theater or San Diego Musical Theater. Absolutely top notch, as good as anything Ive seen on NYC Broadway but in a intimate setting that doesnt feel small. Live music, great sets, fantastic choreography, first class acting, quality directing and casting brings a truly magical theater experience.

Great location for a show with plenty of street parking and restaurants in the area. Will call was quick and good selection of drinks available inside as well. No bad seats in this theatre, very up close to the stage and actors performing.

Just saw Young Frankenstein the musical. It was so amazing. Great cast, great songs, hilarious banter. The actors have a lot to live up to from the movie and they do not disappoint. Recommend to anyone who loves the movie, loves comedy, loves musicals or just wants to enjoy a great time out. I saw Hairspray here as well in the Summer. The cast is always excellent. Dont miss out on a chance to watch a musical here. Every seat is a good seat. If you miss Young Frankenstein check out their upcoming shows. I love this theatre.

Love this small theater. Uneven flooring sort of a hazard but seats are comfortable and every one has a good view of the stage. We have seen some wonderful productions

Wonderful show and the stage was very innovative.

Nice intimate setting for a musical. No bad seats! Easy concessions. Makes for a long wait for the bathroom, so I passed on the opportunity. But in reality guess that happens at all theatres. Give it a try!.. I saw hairspray here, and it was the most fun Ive ever had at a performance, great production!Only gave it 4/5 because of it being old, but it really adds to its charm.

Saw Young Frankenstein. Enjoyed it thoroughly. The cast was great. Singing, dancing and acting were all first class. Theater is intimate which makes for every seat a winner.

Great small theatre. There are no bad seats. The San Diego Musical Theatre company just leased the theatre about 6 months ago. Their production of Hairspray is phenomenal; but is closing Sunday September 2nd. I loved the show and the theatre.

Intimate, yet open theater.Lambs Players put on a lot of fun, long-running musical reviews here. Currently, Intrepid Theatre company does a lot of shows here that can be a bit hit or miss. But always worth a shot!

Intimate venue to catch a play. Good acoustics and not a bad seat in the place. Saw the Buddy Holly play and was thoroughly impressed overall. Will return and definitely recommend.

Perfect venue for SD Musical Theater. So glad to see them here instead of at Spreckels Theater. Staff, especially the House Manager, were all warm and helpful.

Awesome shows!! Saw South Pacific!! It was Awesome!! Very kind helpful attendants. They gladly help you to and from your seat with their flashlight.

Its a small theatre, very comfy and cozy. I loved how intimate the show was, and how every sit was a good one. Pretty nice area, in the heart of Gaslamp District. You can find free parking on Sundays, I dont think its as easy the other days of the week.

Affordable live theater! Big enough to put on a good show and small enough for intimate experience.

Nice little theatre that is intimate and cozy. was there when comic-con was holding a q&a with the captain america screenwriters. I got to see them life-size, as opposed to toy size in a bigger auditorium.

The theatre is quite old but the talent on stage was excellent. Fun outing!

Great theater, seats and rows are very comfortable not so crowded together like other theaters. Very reasonable pricing as well.

My wife and I really enjoy the San Diego Music Theater. Amazing live entertainment.

Nice theatre and a great production. However the manager is one of the worst. He mistook someone with me for taking photos and even after the person that did take a photo came forward he still felt the person he wrongly accused should apologise to him! As a regular theatre goer in Londons West end I have to say this man spoilt the experience. When I pointed out that he needs to apologise for wrongly accusing someone he told me to leave the theatre. I will never return until this sorry excuse of a man has gone.

Intimate theatre with a traditional stage and seating. In the gaslamp, but far enough way from the clubs so traffic is less of an issue.

SDMT puts on a great show!

Just saw the first preview of Whos Afraid of Virgina Wolff. My husband and I are season subscriber to Lambs for many years. I personally have seen all of the aqctors perform, mostly Robert Smyth, and Deborah Gilmore Smyth . We left after the second act for one reason. The acting was so raw and real that my husband could no longer watch. He grew up in a verbal and physically abusive family and it brought up too much emotion in him. I was aware of the story line but I have to say the acting was so powerful. Casting was perfect and Erin Petersen did an amazing job. I could not begin to imagine the depth that each actor had to delve into. The volitility between Martha and George I felt physically.So sorry I missed the last act. Any person in the arts should see this play.Please post under Cynthia Turner
