This is a MUST for anyone whose grandma took them to McDonalds as a kid. My husband and I are products of the 80s and the playground toys are so reminiscent of our childhoods. We took a bunch of photos and we all know that those speak for themselves. This place was full of people visiting from other countries. Very cool!Go visit! We strongly recommend checking this off your list

This place was easily the highlight of my entire trip and I seriously could have spent half of the day seeing all of the McDonald’s historical artifacts. The best part was the employee that was working then was extremely knowledgeable and quickly put to rest some misconceptions I had about fast food history. I will be intentionally planning my next trip around this enjoyable attraction!

San Bernardino, California. Why is it called Juan Pollo McDonalds Museum? The owner/founder of Juan Pollo (Japanese-American dude) acquired the Historic Site of the Original McDonalds Burger Shop back in the late 90s, and converted to a McDonalds museum. All Americans w/ the exception to those born into vegan/hippie families grew up w/ happy meals and the sorts. We have a love/hate relationship with Mcdonalds similar to that of Disney. The museum also holds Juan Pollos corporate office. The museum is taken care of wonderful people, and the artifacts located were almost 100% donations from collectors around the world. Very very interesting place to visit considering what restaurant that operates today has their own museum?Location: BSan Bernardino is ghetto and this museum is in the middle of it.Roads/Parking: CThe parking lot is rough.Cost: AFree.Overall: AWonderful collection. Some artifacts will bring back memories going all the way back to the 50s. There were exhibits provided by former employees from decades past and that is truly a wonder how people ate, worked and lived.Safe traveling.Shameless IG plug @cigarcpa

This is the site of the first McDonalds restaurant, but not the actual building. The original building was unfortunately demolished in the early 2000s. However they have artifacts from that original structure. This is more of a McDonalds museum. Lots of Happy Meal toys and uniforms throughout the ages on display. We were kind of disappointed, because I was under the impression that the original McDonalds was up and running and still serving hamburgers. No food is served here.

An interesting museum especially for those that are interested in the history of McDonalds. It is located at the location of the first McDonalds Restaurant in San Bernardino which was demolished in 1972.The museum is packed with historic information of the beginnings and the development of McDonalds over the decades. It has an impressive collection of memorabilia and original items that showcase not 8nly the evolution of McDonalds over time but also the changing cultural and socioeconomic context.Of particular interest are also the murals that were started in 2012 by Phil Yeh.For those taking a trip along Route 66 it is certainly worth a visit.

If you are into good feelings and getting hit with a big dose of nostalgia, this is a great place to spend an hour or more, depending how much detail and history you delve into. The docent (wish I remembered his name ) was so knowledgeable and provided us with a history page at the entry. From there it is endless toys, food, movie props (from the founder), and mcdonalds related items.Highly recommended for the whole family!

Its completely free and LOTS to look at including historical bits, uniforms, menus, play structures, packaging, and of course mcky D toys galore. So many memories from my childhood were conjured up here. You shouldnt expect a grand display or anything (it literally looks like a huge yardsale if Im being honest lol) but there are way too many cool things in here to care about that.
