NW Rec center is a staple of our community here in Rose Park. We appreciate the work out facility, sports opportunities for kids and the childcare program is great!
Great water aerobics class with Darlene. Amazing facilities, second to none.
Friendly atmosphere and staff was helpful. Clean environment.
This is a great rec center in the Salt Lake area. They have the kiddie pool and the lap pool, a nice gym, basketball courts and a small indoor running track. The prices for membership or just day pass are affordable, even for families. The facility is ways clean and kept up. It is also in a quiet area and not generally very busy. This is also a great place for a swimming themed birthday party. You wont find a better deal for the number of people you can bring.
It can get a bit crowded but as far as staff and maintenance of facilities they do a good job. Being the only facility of its kind here on this part of the westside, I wonder if they get a fair share of resources.
We love the rec center! Especially during the summer when we do swim lessons. The teachers are knowledgeable and friendly. The pool is nice and the classes are awesome.
Great REC Center and Pool is nice for lap swimming and kids pool with lazy river. Reservation only during Covid.
I love this rec center. It’s new, clean, and has great amenities. The swim lessons for kids are the best. You can’t find a better deal and all the teachers are wonderful. A lot of the teacher are students from West High and the young kids adore them. I expect us to be coming back here for years.
They let you shower for free and for a bum like me thats G-O-O-D
Great facility. Great fields, classes for everyone, nice gym, clean pools with kids area and a slide. Clean and well maintained. Nice helpful staff.
Fun place for kids of all ages
Family pool is never open. Spent good money on a pass and never can swim, the hours change or the pool is closed for cleaning. Dont waste your money.
Finally they had hot water for showers, on 2.1.20, after almost two months of cold-ish, inconsistent showers. Im glad someone finally figured out what part needed to be replaced, and did so.....(lets hope it keeps working well) Otherwise, this is best pool and gym in town.
Clean, decently equipped gym with a wonderfully diverse clientele. No Bros taking selfies on the leg press. Love it
Seems like a nice rec center for the community. The pool is missing a hot tub, steam and sauna though.
Great place to work out. Family friendly
This place is great! The staff is super friendly, the facility is extremely clean, the water was a great temperature and the lap lanes weren’t busy on a Saturday afternoon. I would highly recommend all Salt Lake county pools.
The Northwest Recreation Center is a beautiful facility. You can participate in many different sports, exercise and relaxation activities. You can practice your jump shot in the beautiful basketball gym, swim in the large pools, attend water aerobics classes, work out with a variety of fitness equipment, take a yoga class, run on the indoor track, and so much more.Children love the large family swimming pool with its various water features. Several activities are geared toward seniors. There is something for every age group and ability level.
Great place to excersize, swim laps, play basketball
They got really a fast indoor water slide.
$16 for set of 4 adult swim lessons! Doug is a great teacher! Huge indoor pool and a separate huge pool just for kids.Make sure to bring a lock!!! Im told they also sell them at the front desk. Ive had my stuff rummaged through and thrown on the floor.
Great pool and friendly staff!
I love this place I just want it too be cheaper please change that.
Clean, busy, friendly, fun. Whether you want to lift, work the elliptical, swim or take a class this is the place.
So fun to swim there, I like that they keep it tidy. Have gone multiple times, and many more to come!
Dylan was super nice and super helpful.I was looking for a place to play pingpong and he helped me find somewhere that does.
Clean training facility. Employees are friendly.
My kids love this place cool spot to swim
Really cheap monthly plan if you’re looking for a good gym with a nice pool.
Great swimming pool. My two sons have taken swim lessons at the Northwest Recreation Center for the past 1 1/2 years. Swim teachers are great.
Great pool. Heated floors in pool and locker rooms
I would give five stars but they are not open until 6 and have limited hours on the weekends. I enjoy working out and our membership has encouraged me to swim for exercise as well. The staff is all pretty friendly and the classes are included with membership. I wish they had a steam room and provided towels, otherwise a great community center.
Very clean, reasonably priced pool and sports complex.
Excellent place for family fun and exercise
Great Rec Ctr. Teaching my grandson toSwim. The water temperature is around88 degrees which is very comfortable.
I love this place although I wish the bathrooms were cleansed more often thruout the day especially on peak times because the mens bathrooms or the family bathrooms smell alot like pee
As an overall rec it’s pool and basketball courts are great for family fun. The gym is hardly a gym and is often too busy to use the machines you want. It’s worth the price to go somewhere else. However as an employee this is one of the worst place to work. There are no benefits. They treat you like trash and add on loads to your responsibilities that absolutely aren’t yours. The manager are against you and actively find reasons to yell at you. They mess up scheduling and understaff when you need staff the most especially in the pool. This is a terrible work environment and I don’t recommend working here ever. As for activities they’re poorly planned and chaotic because managers aren’t remotely “present” for their jobs and halfway try on everything. Super chaotic.
Just signed up, the facilities look amazing and clean, the lady at the front desk was super nice. Update: have been going here for months. I mostly use the treadmills, indoor track, and day care for my kid. No complaints, it’s a great rec center! The kids pool I have used a handful of times and it’s lovely
I mainly use the weight room there. They have a good dumbbell set, an array of machines, benches, and the facility is always clean. A couple things the weight room could use is a place to do dead lifts, and a squat rack. They have a smith machine but thats no replacement for a squat rack. Overall happy with the place and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable gym.
Love the pool, which is always very clean and has plenty of slides, water canons and a lazy river. Great for all ages. Water is pleasantly warm. The rest of the facility is really nice, too. Their ski lessons for kids after school are amazing !
Very bad service, I cant enroll my nephew in a basketball class or game, because he is not in a team, and they still asking me in what team is my nephew
My daughter attends cheer and loves it. They enjoy the pool too but dont frequent as often
$25 monthly fee / $300 a year ??? This is a State operated facility! Should be cheap and accesible !!Other private Fitness facilites are much cheaper with plenty equipement etc...for just $9.99! a month!Sundays are just opened half day :(No WifiNo Sauna!Im dissapointed !
Very nice and spacious.
I personally think this place is very good for $6. Swimming, basketball, a workout area, an indoor track. The workout area is very nice with a lot of different options.
I enjoy going to the rec center. I wish management of this place could enforce the rules in a more accurate matter helping rude people to behave.Place is clean and safe. The parking lot could be crazy.
The pool is great for kids. Daycare is great and not too expensive. The equipment is nice in the gym. It meets all of my needs. I just wish it had a hot tub!
It’s mostly a place where kids of all ages go in lieu of their parents hiring a babysitter. in the evenings there are 10 kids playing on every single hoop without a parent in sight. for some reason the pool used to close an hour before the facility. soda and candy wrappers litter the gym. if you want to use a drinking fountain when you’re in the pool you have no choice but go out to the foyer, cold and dripping, then loop back thru the locker room cuz door locks behind you.as a gym it’s not inexpensive. but if you want to send your kids here instead of daycare, it’s priced well.
Holy moley, this is a fine gym! Ive been in their pool, warm enough to get right in. There was a class in the adult pool, so I risked it with the kiddie pool. I know what youre thinking, (I was thinking it too), but I tried not to forget how many times I peed in pools when I was a kid and pretend these kids had better moral fiber. Glad I did, theres a track with a strong current, so you can give yourself a workout walking against the current, or float with it.The reason I was in the pool was my knees. They were too creaky that day, so I made a point of trying put the pool. Usually I walk the track, work out on the equipment, or join one of the classes. I have a friend who takes the water aerobics class, and she loves it. Not sure if that cost extra, but the dry-land aerobics classes are free.
Clean facility and water is at a good temperature.
Family friendly sports for the entire family. Swimming, basketball, soccer, etc. Easy to find location right behind the fair grounds.
Always busy great place for kids nice yearround pool
Great place for everyone from seniors to kids
Been living in Rose Park pretty much my whole life and have been coming here ever since they opened. Its really convenient, clean, the staff is really friendly and an all around great place to work out, play ball, swim etc.. I just wish the passes were a little cheaper.
It’s a great place to run the track, use fitness equipment, swim, join a class and they even have daycare.
Northwest Rec Center is super clean, super friendly, and well equipped. The leisure pool is great with a nice long lazy river and fun water features. The exercise instructors are knowledgeable and approachable. Personal Training is top notch, and they have a great class called shape up that is a sort of group personal training. It costs extra ($55 for 5 weeks-two classes a week plus online nutrional guidance) but is so worth it.
They should expand the workout space to put in more workout equipment. Too crowded all the time
Crown Jewel of the neighborhood. Well maintained, and even better ran. Staff is friendly and helpful. Truly a Community Center also both for the Seniors at Rivers End and the young folks.
The lazy river is much too shallow and it would be nice if it was a circle like the pool at the South Davis Rec Center.
Three times a week when Im not sick with my cancer which may be cured now good exercise
Great lap pool. Lifeguards are very proactive to move people out of the lanes if they are just hanging out and not swimming laps. Clean locker rooms and great staff.
Good price, clean. Friendly staff for the most part. Not a huge weight room but it has everything you need. Track, pool, field in back. All around a good gym.
The pool is clean and it is such a great environment to be in. Everyone is so friendly and I can’t wait to come back!
Good gym. Nice pool. Has a indoor basketball court.
We love coming to the indoor pool. Its a good fit for all ages of kids.
Nice place but too many people there using the tredmills spray the disinfectant excessively causing others to choke from the strong fumes while theyre running. Ventilation may not be too great. If you go at non-peak times, its perfect.
Great local rec center. Good location for Rose Park.
Super friendly staff, only down fall the hours weekends they close early
Report 15 days that the machines are damaged and do not fix anything
Mid day swims are amazing. The pool has up to six (?) Lanes so there is minimal circle swimming if ever. The basket ball gym has two courts with an indoor track on the second level. The track is accessible through the upper level fitness gym. The gym has free weights and weight machines as well as cardio optuons.
Clean and well maintained. It gets busy right after school and in the morning. I love the lap pool and the weight and cardio area. The track is cool too. Plus, there is a waterslide, in case you are a big child (like me) and want to play.
Great place to play sports and friendly staff
Great indoor pool for kids. Great classes.
The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful
Nice swimming pool. The kids swim lessons are ok. Unfortunately there arent very many options and it fills up way too quickly.
The pool is nice
They charge very expensive and the machines are damaged
Most a wsome gym and rec. Center. Nice people, clean, not crowded.
It seemed to be very nice
Friendly place, good classes, swimming pool with also water classes for small and tall kids ;)
Clean building, friendly staff, great gym!
The swimming lessons are great for kids and gives you something to add to your week schedule.
Pretty good, but a day pass isnt worth 6 bucks
Friendly staff, great facilities, very reasonable fees.
Clean. Good swimming classes.
Love this place, good environment for the kids.
I went there for my B-day is was so fun
They have a awesome basketball court and swimming pool
Facilities are awesome. Locker room and pool are always very clean and doesnt feel overcrowded.
Clean. Friendly staff, only 4 stars because it is kind of price compared to other gyms.
Good place for parties.
Fun activities
It was okay
Ive been trying to reach the person in charge of ski program for a week, leaving messages on her answering machine, its no use she wont bother. So frustrated.
Its a ton of fun
I live there

Great staff
