Urban lounge is always a blast. Great venue. Super friendly door guys and always down to support the local and traveling artists that depend on great venues like this one. During the pandemic they have come up with safe and creative ways to still showcase music in their parking lot.

Nice little venue!! The booths and tables are nice and the drinks were normal price. Not sure if it was the sound engineer, the venues, or the headliners issue, but the balance could use some work. Still 5 stars though!

No frills spot for the best in music in an intimate setting. Significantly improved over the years. If you want an up close experience without the fight of a big crowd or deafening sound levels, this is one of the best places to catch a show.

I went here to see a concert for a band Id never even heard of before and had a great time. It was very intimate and fun. We reserved a booth and I think that helped a lot. Even if I hadnt reserved a booth, I probably could have still got a seat at one of the many small tables they have throughout the venue. Id definitely see another show here.

Havent been to the Urban Lounge for several years and I have to say it was a great improvement and I was pleasantly surprised. I especially liked the free water dispenser and cups that is available for everyone. Thank you Urban! The patio is nice so those who smoke dont have to go out on the street to do so. The booths, the Tables and lighting all is very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful, great show too and if you ever get the chance to see the Supersuckers live, well all I can say is they have the coolest, most badass fans! Greatest band in the world! Check em out.

I told my wife one of my favorite Post-Rock bands was going to be coming to Salt Lake to play at the Urban Lounge on Aug 9th, and I really wanted to go. Back in May, she surprised me with two tickets so that we could go to the concert. Though we were pleased with the atmosphere and the vibe of the venue, and our overall experience was great, for our first time here, it did not start that way.Our IDs were checked, then we moved up to the counter to give the guy our tickets. We gave him our tickets, and then he asked for a last name so that he could find us on a list the venue had created with the names of all the people who had purchased tickets. My wife gave him my last name (obviously), but he said it wasnt on the list. She then gave him her maiden last name, but he still could not find her on the list. He apologized and went to turn us away, wasnt going to let us into the show, even though we had our tickets. Seconds later, I spotted her name, which they had cut short, and put her middle name as her last name. Had it not been for the fact that I spotted her name, we wouldnt have been let in.I understand if he was just following the venues policy, but he did not even ask to see my wifes confirmation email, which we would have been more than happy to show him. She bought these tickets months ago, as a Mothers Day gift. The tickets also had barcodes on them, but were not being scanned.Even though the venue has a cool atmosphere, their entry and ticket system obviously needs to be updated, because the one they have now is not efficient. What if someone else had pointed at her name and said that was them? Then they would have been let in, and we would have been screwed, even if our last names had actually been on the list. There is also no re-entry, once the music starts to play.

I love the laid back atmosphere. The ticket prices for a show are the cheapest I have ever seen almost anywhere in the US. Ranging from Free to 15 or 20. May have a few slightly more but not often. I hesitate to call it a dive bar but yet it has that scene and the look, but not the type of dive punk bar where you are afraid to use the bathroom because of filth or doors ripped off, etc. It reminds me of a punk or indie type of music venue you would find on the east coast (where i am from originally). This to me equals comfortable intimate atmosphere. The bands 9 times out of 10 come down and converse with the locals and just hang out which is wonderful. Mostly local or obscure and sometimes big named bands perform here. Since I have been to Salt Lake City which was 7 months ago I have seen international bands and great bands from the states. Some of these are Spear Of Destiny(EU), King Dude(WA), K. Clover(CA), Maggot Heart(EU). I have upcoming shows who I am excited to see in this intimate venue. Pink Turns Blue(EU), Drab Majesty(CA), Boy Harsher(MA), Children of Night(OH), Shanghai Beach(NYC), Glume from right here in Utah. This list could go on and on. I suggest checking their calendar often as many bands end up playing here on their way through, so some shows do not have too much notice on the calendar. Good drink prices and even a water cooler where you can just get a paper cup from the bar and grab your own water whenever, making it very convenient. A nice outside patio area for those wanting to have some nicotine, or a place to hang out, talk and meet new people.

The Urban Lounge is a great concert venue. Its small enough that you can get a good view of the stage from where ever you are yet large enough you dont feel packed in. The acoustics are great as well. You can hear the lyrics and music (which cant be said for all venues). They have a wide variety of drinks so finding something shouldnt be difficult for you. Concert tickets are reasonably priced as well. Never had a bad experience here and I am always watching to see who they bring in. The organizers do a great job of bringing in good acts. All the focus is on great music. Its wonderful to listen to a concert here because its such a small space that you get to be close to the stage no matter where you are. The environment is very spare. It reminds me of a black box theater. The bar doesnt serve food, and the drinks they can make are pretty limited. If you need to sit, call ahead to reserve a booth. There is free water, and really good music. The concert we saw was tons of fun. If you love live music with wonderful energy and you enjoy simple, sort of obvious drinks, this is a really fun place to spend the evening.

Nice vibe on the inside. Not the best acoustics though since it is square-shaped with not a vaulted ceiling. So basically that means bring ear-plugs unless you want some ringing in your ears afterwards (and long-term hearing damage). Bar inside, drinks are about $6-10 dollars. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Saw Julia Jacklin here and she was really good. Get there right when it opens if you want to sit down during the concert, otherwise youll be standing the whole time.
