Great atmosphere. Very laid back. The area is spacious and open. The servings are extremely generous. Bring your appetite if you plan on finishing the El Chicano.

What a find! Cool pub, great food, live music, beer, wine, bar. The staff was friendly and gave us stellar food recommendations. We had the Shepard’s Stew, Bangers and Mash, Fish and chips. Warm and friendly environment to throw back a few amongst friends.

Myself & 3 others got Piper Down to-go.2 of us tried vegan burgers & the others were on the regular menu.All 4 of us were blown away!Although I am not vegan, I don’t eat beef but often crave a good cheeseburger. Their Vegan (beyond meat) Cheeseburger exceeded all expectations. You’d never guess it was vegan.Portions were very generous, sides were delicious,& everything was fresh & flavorful.Will 100% order from here again!

This was a very pleasant surprise as her first place wasn’t quite open before a planned show for the evening. Went in and honestly had a bit of low expectations but after being served drinks and food realized this place is awesome. Has the ambience of a dive bar but the quality of a place you should go out of your way to try.

The feel of the bar has changed over the years, from a very Irish feeling pub with booths to more of an intermingled feeling, but definitely has the feeling of actual Irish pubs. Its bar food, but enough unique items that you can see the roots. I recommend it for a bite, and the great atmosphere makes you want to come back.

Great food! Theyre vegan options are actually very delicious and edible. As they say very old school pub atmosphere. The live music or the occasional trivia night is always welcome too

I went here for drinks and there was a live band so it was $5 cover for my husband and I. We sit and order our drinks, mine is grey goose and club soda with a lemon and my husband was grey goose and orange juice. The bartender asked if we wanted an ounce and a half on both drinks and we said yes. For those 2 drinks it was $26!!!!!! I was like, are we in Vegas Toto? Because WHAT??!!! ILL NEVER GO BACK. I PAY $14 FOR TWO DOUBLES WHERE I USUALLY GO SO ILL JUST STICK TO THE OLD PLACE.

TL;DR of it is If I could give this pub six stars, I would.They made a bad experience on an app instantly better.Postmates order got picked up by a driver. It never came to us. The driver blocked us when we tried to reach out. My wife contacted Postmates for help. She never got a response.I was angry at the poor customer experience by Postmates. I called the pub to find out what had really happened. Colin/Collin picked up and resolved the issue by remaking our order I picked up the order myself. The pub didnt charge us. They were so nice about it.And the food is delicious, but if youve read this far into my post youd understand what my top reason will be for ordering from this pub again. I just wont be using Postmates.

Really unique menu and good staff that is responsive, respectful and a great atmosphere. 2 levels of patio, sometimes fire outside. occasionally they have events held there as well. Great place all around. In fact it is THE ONLY BAR IN TOWN I HAVE BEEN TO where the staff has talked about the overwhelming support from the owners. BUMP from 4 star to 5.I have personally had the opportunity and the fortune to share a drink with several of the employees at this place, not only are they apparently a tight nit team, but also overwhelmingly courtious to the guests. Shaggy, Royce, and Zac are usually the ones working when I slum through, that is not to say the rest of the staff is anything short of exquisite.Honestly great establishment and a consistent outlet no matter the day in downtown.

We went here for their trivia night on Wednesday and had a great time. Its a very cozy pub with friendly staff and a wide selection of beers and whiskeys.Trivia night is a great time, however it is definitely busier than usual. Try to arrive about 30 minutes early if you want to get a good seat close to the action.

Old world exterior and pop music playing inside made me not so into the vibe. However food was good. Drinks were good. Prices were fair.I was just expecting a dirty dark hole in the wall kinda place with a rustic quality that matches the people inside but I set the wrong expectations. Just my opinion.

Im not often compelled to post a negative review for a restaurant, especially a local business. But tonight, I can justify it. Our experience at Piper Down was dismal. The non-existent parking and the practically narcoleptic waiting staff could be excused, if the food were any good. But while eating the shepherds pie, I thought, this is probably what a shepherds pie would taste like if I tried to make one at home. And I dont know how to make shepherds pie! It was edible insofar as I was just hungry enough to ingest it. But my stomach was already starting to turn before we even left the place. And the hurried drive home, desperate for a toilet, was... not a fun time. I dont doubt that the restaurant might have been good once. The other reviews seem to suggest this. But after my first visit, it would take a lot of convincing to bring me back.

Here for the very first time for late lunch, I’ve got to say I’m pleased with their service and food! “Hoot” recommended a great beer and even added some limes to it to add a nice flavor as I had told him I usually drink Coronas. I probably wouldn’t go there. We tried getting some food June 2020 and the general vibe from the dude checking ID’s was that he didn’t want to be there and he didn’t want us to be there. So we left. Unfortunate because I liked the place, but not anymore. Bummer.

My very first bar and it was a great time. Came again close to a year later and it is still great. The staff is cool and fun and they have vegan options! I recommend the vegan mushroom Swiss burger!

Guinness on tap, whiskey-a-plenty, non-judgmental staff and welcoming atmosphere. There is quite simply no other place to be on St. Patricks Day than Piper Down... unless your in Ireland herself.

My favorite bar! The atmosphere is really mellow and just a good time to talk with friends. All the staff is great and the food is amazing. The vegan food is especially amazing. Friends who arent vegan will eat off the vegan menu because they like it so much. Also the drinks are reasonably priced. The drinks are also very good!

Piper Down is my favorite pub and brunch spot. 1.50 mimosas and bloody mary bar during brunch. All their food is delicious and filling, nice ambiance and plenty of activities during the week. The staff has always been super friendly. It can get crowded as its a fantastic place so be aware of potential waiting if you go during a busy time.

Quality has slipped in the last year. Staff is good, but now drink selection and food are just ok, which takes a star. Prices seem overblown since quality is down, so that knocked a star as well. It used to be great! I love Piper, so I really hope it undoes whats happening before it becomes a pattern.

Was so disappointed! We really wanted to try this place out while we were visiting because we had only heard and read positive reviews. We showed up during brunch and were seated quickly. That was the last positive experience. The waitress took our drink order then disappeared for 15min. When we ordered our food, (the Canadian poutine) we waited another 50 minutes for the food to come out (during this time she didnt even come to check on the table). That was the LAST time we saw our waitress. We ate and then waited for the check. Our waitress did not come back to check for refills or to give us our check. Forty five minutes AFTER we finished eating, I grew tired of waiting and searching for a waitress, I finally stood up to show we were ready. Several waitresses made eye contact but didnt come over. My partner then stood up to go ask the bartender for a check and our waitress finally showed. She dropped the check and left again, barely speaking to us. The place wasnt busy, just a moderate amount of customers. Will never go back. Horrible horrible customer service.

This place has exploded in popularity over the past few years. Its always been very popular, it just seems more so in the last few years. The cocktails are a bit pricey, but they do have a good selection of beers, wines and other types of alcoholic beverages.

The difference between a bar and a pub is thats pub serves meals. This is a great pub. Home cooked feel to their food. Authentic interior. Everytime Ive walked in something was always going on whether it was someone singing or an art class. Ive enjoyed every time Ive stepped in.

I give it a five star review because this place is awesome. I wish they would clean the mens room a little more often. I come here several time a month and I dont think it gets cleaned between my visits. Anyway, Piper Down has always been one of my favorites.
