Played here over the summer and had a later t time, but was still given the t time and cart for full price. The sprinklers turned on at hole 3. The greens were half dirt. You can smell the waste treatment plant next door occasionally. There were even people behind us that decided to just leave. Not sure why they would have the irrigation turn on an hour before the sun even sets, especially when people are playing. When we brought it up to the guy at the club house he said we would have to talk to the person in charge of the course maintenance who wasnt there but people complain all the time about it. Its the same price or cheaper to play in so many other better spots throughout the valley.
This course was pretty fun. The fairways were in pretty rough shape the two times Ive been in the last 2 months. However, the greens were some of the best quality Ive played this season. The course definitely needs some work but its still pretty fun to play.
The golf course is in terrible condition. Shame on Salt Lake City for ruining another golf course through there terrible management. Dont waste your money at Rose Park.
Wish that I have some discount to play everyday or every week on this courseIt beautiful and cleanThank you
Mosquitoes mosquitoes and more mosquitoes. Course is a good beginner course, but you cant enjoy yourself because you are being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Please fix that.
Really nice cook in the kitchen, she knows a thing or two about making a good sandwich.
My group of friends and I went there specially for the golf boards, they forgot to charge them the night before. The fairways and tee boxes are in terrible shape. How they can charge as much as they do for that condition of that course is crazy. Don’t waste your time and money n this “course”.
Looks, for what its worth the course is definitely in terrible shape. Did I still have fun? Most definitely. However, I feel the biggest problem this course has isnt really the grass, the horrible tee boxes, its not even lumpy areas. Its the mosquitoes. We teed off at around 430 last night. The mosquitoes were noticeable but they were hardly there to bother you. By the time my group got to the third hole it was a slaughter. You could stare into the direction of the sun and see literal CLOUDS of mosquitoes. No, not nats, mosquitoes.By the 6th hole I stopped caring about taking practice swings, I stopped caring about trying to align my shot, I stopped caring about my score, I simply wanted to get the ball in the hole and move on as quickly as possible. At one point, my friend ran to the cart and as many as 30 mosquitoes followed behind him. It could have been more. I didnt want to stand there and get eaten alive while I counted.By the 9th hole my socks, gloves, and t-shirt were literally covered in tiny spats of blood from how much whacking I had done. And it was only 7pm.I dont know what the course has power over. However I can say with 100% certainty that it has a mosquito problem. And this definitely affected the performance of my game. Had I been alone I think I would have walked off the course by the 6th hole and gone home.I hope the park can figure this out. We cannot be the only people in the world to have experienced this.
I love playing Rose Park but its like they stopped watering in July. Salt lake city should be ashamed. Fairways in horrible condition.
Greens in good shape. A lot of dry fairways and ruff. Relatively easy to get a too time.
The greens were in great condition best Ive played on this season.
Our T-time was set for 6:40pm so it would be a bit cooler outside, and we checked in right on time. They failed to mention that the sprinkler system goes off at 7pm, theres a tractor in middle of one hole, and theres barely any grass on some holes. They charged us full price and didnt mention any of that to us. Just five holes in and we were asked to leave so they clean up for the night. No discount or mention of any of this. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Paid 40 bucks for 2 people 9 holes and a cart. Very pricy for the status of the course but whatever. The part that really made it not worth it was the guy setting up times was very rude and seemed like he wanted me off the phone as quick as possible. Then they were having us go with another group of 2. Not the most comfortable thing since ya know, theirs a virus going around and they were sending groups of 4 out (mostly walkers) every 5 minutes. So there was about a 10 minute wait each hole. There was more things about the course that were not good, but just save yourself the money and go to literally any other course in Salt lake county with cheaper fees and a much nicer course and more than likely a bucket of balls for the same price!!
Ive played rose park since I was a kid(59) now.....I found it nice...showing some age...but overall great.
Stopped after the 3rd hole because it was a mosquito feeding frenzy and was eaten alive. Couldnt even enjoy anything about it
Very friendly staff. Very fair prices. Fun and medium difficulty course. Their practice range uses mats only.
The golf course is in rough shape. Bare spots, weeds, and long grass. The greens were okay but the fairways are lumpy.
Nice course for what you pay. Saw 2 foxes during my round. Its a typical city run course
The course is in very bad shape. Not recommended.
Great community good course. Challenging for me but Im sure but for others.
Terrible course in horrible shape. Booo.
Course was & is in TERRIBLE Shape. Not a top 50 course for the $ you spend.
Salt Lakes best kept secret!! Cant be the price for the experience you get here. The course where Tony Finau grew up playing!
Greens were great, the rest needs water.
Nice course and reasonably priced.
Far too expensive for such a poorly maintained course
The SLC description of this course is way overblown!!
Getting in better shape...keep working hard on it
Devan was very helpful!
Another great Salt Lake City course. It’s in pretty good condition in relation to the price. Great deal, close to downtown.
I had so much fun here. Its a super easy municipal course, but its close to downtown, the people are nice, and you can get a full round finished in two hours. I loved it.
I enjoy playing this course. I think its one of the better city public courses and is typically in good shape. I feel that this summer it has been on ok/fair condition and has been better. They just upgraded the carts, which I thought were really nice. Its a walkable course and isnt terribly long, but still has some challenging holes.
Rose Park is usually in pretty good shape. Today not so good. The grass was mowed a week or so ago and the grass clippings were still in clumps. If you got off the fairway at all it was impossible to find your ball. Wait a few weeks to play Rose Park!!!
What is going on? The greens are in terrible shape. Waiting for carts is rude and poor business. We asked to play off the back 9 which used to be the front 9. Nope! The response was, well you dont have to play here. You are absolutely correct...we dont have to play there. Thank you for reminding us we have other golf courses to support.
I think my backyard is a better golf course and I lost like 500$ worth of balls in the water
Come on Salt Lake City Mayor, get your act together and clean up this course.
The old phrase it is what it is applies Its an old municipal course wide fairways and ok greens, and really cheap to play. (18 holes and a cart for around $20 bucks beat THAT anywhere!) The front nine (the old back) is in rough shape but the back nine (old front) is fun to play. Lot of dead spots on the greens. If your are looking for better fairways and greens I would go to Glendale and pay more. But for a cheap golf Rose Park is hard to beat!
Carter and Jake are da shizz....Love the course.
We went today, 9/14/18, and it smelled like a sewer pipe had burst and was flowing through the whole course. It smelled like some strong poo. Also, mosquitoes were flocking our golf cart like we were the last warm blooded animals on Earth.
BooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooopooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooiioooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooI saw 2 gay men making out with their vapes. This sucks
Casual golf course very close to airport, but its quiet, and very open. You can bike, jog and play foot golf(soccer version of golf). I liked the instructors, and relaxed vibe.
Bring bug spray!
Rose park is an older style course with smallish greens. It is an easy walk. I like hole #s 4, 6, 10, 14. This course hasnt always been in the best of condition.
6/21/16: Honestly, not the nicest course Ive played at. The course is extremely dry and the majority of the greens are in poor condition. The staff is friendly, but if you want to play at a course in great condition, I recommend playing at a different one.
Great place to golf. Good prices, the staff keeps it up nicely
Nice easy course, good for beginners. Friendly golf pros and yummy food
The friendly staff works to make your experience pleasant and efficient.
This place is a gem!
Played Rose Park last year and vowed to never return. Well got a deal on internet, so went back yesterday to give it another try. Staff was still unfriendly. When I say unfriendly, I dont mean they were just not friendly, I mean they were decidedly unfriendly. Got paired up with some out-of-towners and I asked what they thought and the player summed it up better than I : There is an ass-hole vibe here.Course is ok for a public muni. I wont return because of the staff.
Nice Golf Course, decent food and fair pricing.
Always has been very good.
Literally the worst golf course in Utah.
Poor fairway conditions, sprinkles running throughout the entire round, including on the greens. Not happy and wont play there again
Good prices
What a dump!
Good
Descent driving range.
Decent condition, the course isnt overly exciting.
Very rude people that work here
Great city course.
Some of the BEST kept greens in town!
