What a beautiful golf course. Staff was amazing and the golfers I met were great. Will definitely make it a coutse to play a couple times a year.

A real beautiful old course with lots of dramatic views and big Trees lining crisp Fairways. It is probably one of the oldest courses in Salt Lake City but you hardly notice that that its nestled into a neighborhood on one side and the zoo on the other side. Sometimes you do hear the Lions Roar or the giraffe make whatever noise they make. For me I didnt hear any birdies :-) its great!

Top of the price range for public costs at $58 for 18 and a cart and definitely not worth that based on the course condition. Much better courses throughout the valley without the stupid high price for the City course. Fun course that will challenge you on the greens but condition and price were a turn off.

Not for beginnersThis course is not friendly for beginners. They call your T - time on a intercom and really rush you to T-off then all the sudden, no more than 10 minutes later the next group is up. The whole time we felt rushed and under pressure . We even got more than one group asking to play through. Maybe we went at too busy of a time for our group of beginner golfers, and we were on the slow side so I don’t blame others for wanting to go ahead. It would have been nice if people were more courteous. We always felt like we had to look behind us because we were worried about being hit from a ball from another group. Next time - if there is one, we’ll go at a different time or not on a Saturday. The course was beautiful and I would like to play at a slower pace.

Beautiful course. Open fairways hole 8 and 9 were a little tough for me but I was probably just hot. And I didnt play 18 so thats all I really saw of the course. Not to difficult though.

It’s a very challenging 18 holesGreens are a blast to putt on, fast, smooth, big breaks, two tiered in great shape. I wish they would bring back the pinball machines they had in the restaurant area, used to be 3 games for a quarter 5 balls per game with multi ball bonus, extra game with matching numbers, all this and cherry coke, that was back in the late 60s Great golf course gullies to hit over par 3 shots

We had a tee time on the 5th of November. We went to pay and he told us the price I asked if they had winter rates and his reply was priceless! He said no discount you have two options either you can play or not if you want to see my book I definitely don’t need your business! We were shocked and decided to find somewhere else to play.

Im torn on Bonny. Its obviously a venerable mainstay of the valley, and is nearly always kept in good condition (although I dont love the new watering patterns and preferred the old routing). The comments of other reviewers about the somewhat intimidating atmosphere are accurate...its always had sort of an air of being the municipal course for insiders, almost like its a private club posing as a public course. Honestly though, thats part of its mystique to a degree and its always had that for the thirty odd years Ive played it, and is arguably better now than in years gone by.There are some fantastic players who chose it as their home course, and some serious money has changed hands out there over the years! And there are a few holes here that really stand out, including one of the best par 3s youll ever face at 9. The opening tee shot is also a winner, facing that uphill shot in front of the clubhouse is a knee knocker on mornings youre not quite feeling it. And the par 5 fifth is a very good hole, begging to you go for it in two with your blind second, but with the trouble both right and long making it a questionable decision requiring you to really think about how youve been hitting it on the first four. 10 has the carry, 18 is just fun to play...these are the holes youll replay when you look back in the round because they made you think. But the bulk of the course is a bit dull in design in comparison, and all kind of runs together in a back and forth, straight, parallel fashion that can become boring and lull you out of your focus. You cant help but feel a more inventive use of hazards and even routing was possible in that beautiful setting. William Bell Sr did some fantastic work nationally, but much of the round at Bonneville feels very uninspired, just one straight fairway after another, with very little strategy involved on most of it. The small old school round greens really define the course on these holes, and can definitely be tricky and fun to putt. But the shots require little thought other than straight. Even Glendale (interestingly, a project which believe Bells son, William F was involved in along with William Neff) is architecturally a bit more interesting with higher shot values IMO.So on the one hand its a cool course with great history and some memorable holes, but much of it is just an average, straight municipal course with kind of an odd culture surrounding it. That said its probably a must-play due to its traditions and importance to salt lake city golf. 4 stars feels right, but I could just as easily go 3 or 5!

Played Bonneville Golf course in Salt Lake city while visiting my son who is in Utah for the summer. Greens fees, Premium Club rental and a cart were under $80 for the two of us on a weekend afternoon which I thought was very fair. Course was in nice shape for a city owned course with nice greens and well watered fairways. Great views of the mountains which might be nothing special for the locals but were distracting (in a good way) for a visitor from the east coast.

Some of the best Ive experienced.

Bonneville is my favorite place to play in the Valley HOWEVER Gregory Cayias the assistant pro is THE rudest person Ive encountered at the golf course. whether over the phone or in person, he treats you with no respect. Watch out for this guy. Other than that the rest of the staff is wonderful!

Bonneville seems a little over priced for what it is, but is always busy so I guess they must have it priced right for the location. I enjoy the course and its always in good shape. My favorite holes are #s 1, 5, 6, 9, 11, 18. Walking this course is a little more exercise than the average Salt Lake course.

Played the front nine at Bonneville. Its not overly challenging, although some drives have a tenancy to roll off the right side of the fairway. Average greens, but that can be a compliment. Ill play here again after visiting other courses in the Salt Lake valley.

This was my home course for a decade back in the 1970s. I can see by the pictures that a lot of money has been put into this course. Looks great! We would sweep the dew off the greens in the morning, play 18 to 36 holes and STILL be on the putting green after dark!Great staff, great course all around!

Bonneville is the classic, old style municipal course. Watch the time you tee off, or you will be looking at a 5+ hour round. A little tough to walk unless you are used to hills. Very short course, so dont be afraid of playing it from the tips, and let the greens clear before your second shots on all the par 5s, they are all VERY reachable!

Ive been golfing here for 20+ years and have always enjoyed it until the last couple of years. The courses quality had gone down a bit, prices have climbed faster than others in the area, and the staff have become arrogant and lacking in almost any ability to provide good customer service.Played there this last weekend - staff greeting: who the hell are you? I told him which group I was with. Why the hell did it take you so long to get here? Your group is up after this next one gets off the tee. Ok, thanks. I informed him I would be walking the course - yeah, right. Thatll be $51 with a cart. I looked at him confused - youre not walking; I dont believe that for a second. Youre riding. I dont like confrontations much, so I paid and went on my way.The course is in good condition again but the staff and the constantly escalating costs have made sure this golfer wont be coming back. Too bad after coming here for so may years.
