Plenty of parking, couple trails to walk around and explore. There is old ammunition storage areas, 2 old military bunkers, a lighthouse, and plenty of benches to sit down to take in the view. Its right on the water so you can walk down to the beach an take a look in the tide pools in between the rocks.
Its so peaceful and beautiful there.. cant wait to go back
Pretty cool place. You can hike around the whole little peninsula. Has camping for tents and RVs. the price wasnt too bad to get in for the whole day
Part campground, part rocky beach, part abandoned buildings. Definitely a strange place with a nice view of the ocean. Passing through a pavement campground to get to the little walking area is a little odd. Not the most intuitive signage when approaching kinda confusing but drive through the camp area to find the public parking where the view is.
Nice place to camp or take the kids to a Park. It has a very nice beach calle waikiki beach
So beautiful, a must see. They are also very military friendly there!
Amazing view to walk around! Bring your good camera.
Really nice camp site, be weary of which spots dont have vehicle access
Amazing place to be specially because of the views. The water is amazing with great views during sunsets and the lighthouse is the best. Not alot of parking during busy times but there is alot of parking at the Salem Willows and walk down to the Fort. There is a lot of history here and its amazing.
Gorgeous. Definitely got my ocean fix
Beautiful place to camo or sit and spent an hour. Easy trails and one of the best views in Salem.
Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view from. theres also a couple of dirt paths to get from the grassy part down to the rocks
Nice spot for a cup of coffee
Perfect during winter/of season... Cute, small space with sand and rocks to explore.
Nice place to off season sice its open to the public.
After paying $15 for parking, there wasnt much to see or do, from a fort perspective. We picked a dud. Maybe if we came to swim at the beach all day it would be a better story. But we didnt even stay an hour, and we lost our binoculars.
Part of one of nice jogging course views
Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Salem
Historically interesting place used from 1600s through WW II. It is inside a park with a $15 parking fee. There are also camping, swimming, picnicing and boat launch areas. The views are beautiful. You can watch boats coming and going from the harbor.
It was all right I know Ive been there before I do something different
Great place to sit and chill, and watch the boats
Really a great spot. Glad I was here in the fall. Nice people and beautiful.
Great place for ocean side photography... in the early spring at least. I got some amazing sunset shots of the lighthouse but being so late in the day, I didnt get to explore the whole area. Made friends with a local who mentioned in the summer it is a campground and from the sounds of it, it is gated with someone on duty 24/7. So if youre looking for scenery during the summer months, you may want to find details about entry before venturing out here.
History is at its best.Showing a fort and stone places where weapons were stored
Just another remnant of death and destruction and a perfect example of the military getting all the best views!
We stumbled upon this place during Halloween weekend in Salem. It’s an incredible place to watch the sunset and take oceanside pictures!
Such a beautiful place for boats
Gorgeous peaceful location. Bring your camera!
Nice place, expensive parking ($10)!
For a Salem resident this is a great location. Swimming, or just laying out on the beach, lighthouse and camping, fishing or just lazying about. Resident can buy a pass that is good for 2 years and for non residents its no more to visit than the other much more crowded beaches within an hours drive.Very family friendly but remember if your four legged family member comes along they cant visit the beach and have to be leashed. The willows is just down the road with lots of different food option as well as the new clam box and bands play on different weekends. Camping in tent or Rv is available and you need to call ahead as they fill up on the popular dates.
I went here because of the pic of the lighthouse. Great views but only interesting if you are camping or sunbathing
Beautiful place.
Nice park to visit and camp.
Excellent lots of historical stuff
Very enjoyable
Perfect to view when you are viewing.
Great place to explore
Beautiful
It was alright
Nice place to relax
