I was visiting in-laws from San Diego. A hidden gem of a golf course in Salem. Had an opportunity to golf with my father in law. The views were absolutely beautiful. Trees and more trees, they all stood beautiful. It was so green, so green money saved. This place is very inexpensive, very friendly. So if your in Salem and want to golf

Very nice course, mostly well maintained. Certainly challenging while offering some some good technical decisions.Very nice clubhouse and patio.

Worst golf club in Salem. The staff that work their are terrible and do not care. They do not honor the web booking online with their prices. You’ll have to pay way more than advertised. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone visiting for a good time. Spend your money elsewhere on Way better golf in the area.

Im not a golfer. I went for dinner. It was ok.

Super fun course. I love the driving range and it is gorgeous! I dont feel skilled enough to take on the course but Ive been hitting the practice area once a week and maybe one day. I give this review a 5 star because even though I dont know a lot about golf, the staff are always super nice, friendly, and informative guys!

I really enjoy playing at Salem GC! Greens are in great condition and rolling true. Love the BIG fir trees!

Met friends for breakfast. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt great. Golf course is fantastic.

We stopped in for a rainy day lunch and enjoyed good food and excellent service. The fish n chips were flaky on the inside and perfectly crispy and flavorful on the outside.

Lovely atmosphere, cosy old country feel with beautiful view of the green well landscaped golf course. Excellant breakfast but beware the country gravy is a mite spicy. Our server was Amanda and she made us feel like we were the only customers.They have plans for ThankgivingPackage deal sounds great.

A bit slow play first couple of holes but able to get thru 18 in 3 hrs.

What do you say about the oldest and the best golf course in Salem that hasnt been said of before already. This place host most of the tournaments in are offered in Salem a most importantly they host the yearly fundraiser for the YMCA golf tournament. It is a must go see, eat and play venue.

This was my first time playing course and i really enjoyed it. Its out in the woods with no houses around and lots of wildlife. Greens were just about perfect. Nice walking course not to long and not much elevation change

Should add heated plates as well as heated chargers. Plate was decorated nicely, flavors were nice, but the whole meal cooled off before Id eaten 3 bites!

Mike Buss changed my game in 2 hours. My wife was suggesting I should get rid of my clubs and get a bowling ball. LOL thats not happening now thanks to my 2-hour lesson with Mike. Great driving range, and a terrific course to play on. Definitely recommended.

Sometimes hard to find the next hole but all in all, a really great course.

The restaurant is open again and serving all day. The food is very good though the bar was short a few ingredients for drinks.The same club atmosphere as it had in the past.

My son and I took lessons today. Julian was our instructor and he was fantastic! The grounds are well kept and the staff is great.

A unique public course you wont find anywhere else in Oregon. Big trees lining narrow fairways with small greens. Easy to walk and not a house on the entire course, so its just you and mother nature.

Good layout, greens are fast and break a lot. Nice old school feel.

Great place!

The course was in good shape, the pro shop staff were friendly but not 100% engaged. Now the food situation, what a joke. Tried to get something to eat at the turn, the two guys standing over a small grill, said they were done for the day. I told them we would take whatever they might have left. They grudgingly drag out two dogs, I can only assume that they were going to throw away. Then they charge me $12.00 for two luke warm dogs. Probably wont visit again until I can properly entertain my golf guests. Fortunately there are a few good courses nearby, with appropriate amenities.

Salem Golf Club is a beautiful place. It is one of my favorite places in Salem. Looking out on the course, feeling the history of the almost 100 years it has been there, really transports one to a different place and time. It is like being on a vacation. Such a great spot. Definitely worth a visit.

A very fun weekend of gold here with the boys!

I was disappointed with the overall shape of the course. The greens are in horrible shape, disease and moss everywhere, I mean they are an absolute disaster. Fairways were adequate at best. I havent played the course in many years and was excited to play it, as I heard it was in great shape. It was in anything but great shape. Maybe I have high expectations but it was not the same course I remember. To give you a reference, it was on par with Oak Knoll, which I hate to say. Maybe their maintenance budget is really low or their Superintendent isnt very good. I am really sorry I had to make this review but felt obligated because the course used to be one of the nicest public courses around.

Really like this course. Very pretty and difficult enough to keep you focused. Cottonwood trees were leaving a lot of junk on the greens. But all in all, I really liked it. Of course the first and tenth tee box is in front of the restaurant, this tends to make you nervous but fun. Will be back for sure.

Beautiful course, meticulously maintained. There are a few holes squeezed into a small area where drives will cross each other but it doesnt detract a bit from the quality of the course.

This golf course has a big problem with scheduling. Played as a twosome the othe day and they failed to inform us that 6 groups of older women will be in front of you in the turn. Makes for a very long back 9. Also they love to mow right in front of you ( even while you are teeing off they are coming at you) this has happened on multiple occasions. They said that they are top dressing ( yes right in front of you) David hasselhoff was in less sand. I will never play this course again.

Gentle view of a gentle slope away from the first tee, the food could of been anything, but was delightful salmon, crab cake starter, risotto, coconut cream, cream would have insulted the coffee.

Sorry Fairway Restaurant... you stuck. Worst sausage gravy, made with hamburger instead of sausage, riddled with onions to mask the flavor lacking gravy (Ive had better from a can). Hard biscuit was really stale & cold. The waiter didnt ask how I wanted my eggs so I ended up with cold scrambled. We had to ask our server for everything including our tab. After asking twice for a straw for my bloody mary and I just got up and got it myself. And then he charged me for the bloody mary & a mimosa.You got one star for the bloody mary. It tasted good. So I guess you should do the one thing you can, slinging drinks. Your cook staff & wait staff need to look at different vocations.

Unsettled players... I am a frequent golfer like the rest, and I’d never been to Salem Club before. Between the 4th and 5th green, I experienced a female player commanding and yelling at me to, and I’m not kidding, “walk away! You don’t belong here! Shoo! Go!” Funny thing was I was headed to the 5th anyway. Rude players. Staff behind the counter also lack luster, I felt like because I was semi casual, and not dressed like a pimp, that I was not welcomed. Totally not purchasing my x-mass membership at this place. One star for great fields, one for the free taffy.

It was fun and the food from the Bridgeway Rolling Cafe was amazing!!

I was just thrown off the putting green about 30 minutes before sunset at the driving range. I can understand closing your range early, but I have never been troubled at a putting green even at places like Pebble Beech.

This is a fun course and fine for beginners (like myself); it was a bit more crowded on a weekday morning than Id expected, but with friendly players who allowed my husband and I to play through, or were happy to go ahead of us when I needed a break.

Some things never change, and some things get worse. Salem Golf club yesterday was as poorly maintained as I have ever seen it. mushy and/or standing water in some spots, burnouts and major dry spells in other spots(in the fairway). Tee boxes hadnt been mowed or maintained in weeks. Greens were plugged, which is fine, but also diseased on some. Just sad and disappointing for a course in Salem. Have some pride.
