What an amazing experience. I just picked up some clay and tools for throwing but I ended up buying a membership and Im going to sign my wife up for class that shes been dying to do. These people are absolutely wonderful and the environment is so at ease. Im excited to start being a part of this community

What a wonderful place! Family clay Sunday’s are awesome and a reasonable price for the family. We also had our 6 year olds birthday party here and it was absolutely wonderful. Pam was amazing teaching the children and everyone had a great time, especially the birthday kid. Thank you!

I attended a family party at the WAC, and was impressed with the instruction and patience shown by the instructor we had. There were 8 of us and very little knowledge of working with clay. Fun was had by all and for me, personally, I will definitely be back for more instruction. Thank you WAC!

I wish I could say my experience here was better since this is the only ceramic art center in Salem. I can see the appeal if you are new to ceramics or taking a class, but it was very frustrating as an artist purchasing a studio pass. While the studios are well equipped, only a select few people are in charge of firings and there are no options to load/fire your own work. I unfortunately had several pieces damaged in the firing process. You have to pay for tickets for every stage of the firing process, which wouldnt be an issue if more of my work survived the firing (shards from other pieces/ drips from kiln wash and other student work ruined several of my pieces). I ended up feeling that I wasted a lot of time and money here. The staff are definitely a close-knit group of people and not very helpful to individuals not taking their classes. I was surprised to find that threats to recycle my personal clay were written on the box when I attempted to store my clay next to the class clay section. This could have been resolved through a respectful email or phone call but no attempts were made. Overall, I felt the environment to be very unprofessional and unwelcoming.

The Willamette Art Center is a big box of fun in the middle of the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. A great crew of dedicated artists and artisans teach hands-on classes in clay and glass, generously sharing years of experience and know-how so you get a chance to really explore these processes creatively. Wonderful.

Theres just something wonderful about becoming one with the clay. The teachers continue to inspire me with their creativity and are very supportive. You dont have to overthink, its like your hands just start and its addictive. I find the entire center very stimulating therapy

Great family activity. The staff walked us through the process and helped us with our creations. It was fun and a chance to try a new art.
