Rode 8 miles to get here to do a little bit of gravel riding. Half way into the trail we ran into mud and swamp. Decided to finish the trail instead of turning back.....big mistake! It only got worse. At least 20 trees blocked our path and we had to lift the bikes over every single one. Trail was over grown in areas and it was easy to get lost. Will probably not be back. ️
Nice trail for kids. Only thing is we got about halfway through and I had to change my sons diaper. Not the best place for a diaper change.
Normally this trail is one of the least manicured trails system in Saginaw county Ive been on (I run here frequently) As of today April 15th, 2020, the trail is in decent condition, with mud, water and multiple human made log crossings. This is NOT the park system to go to if you do not want to get muddy or wet or lack balance (to stay on the logs - grab a walking stick if ya need). If you are up for Saginaws muddy, wet, natures obstacle course, you have found the correct trail system. I had a great time today + no skeeters!!! Today I did the Woodland Loop and the Marsh Trail. Also it is finally clear to take the mountain bike thru!
This trail is so overgrown and not at all maintained. I dont know how they can call this a bike trail. Every 20 yards we had to stop to go over a fallen tree. Primitive is an understatement. No clue if there were beautiful sights, as i spent the entire time watching for obstacles.
Trails needed to be groomed a bit
Not even a trail. Dry weather and still runs right through a marsh bog
The Woodland Trail was terrible. It started fine, but after taking a left at the fork over the river, the trail was covered over by water. Trees were down all along the river trail, and in some spots, the trail had nearly been swallowed into the river. I would only consider returning to this particular part of the wildlife refuge during a drought.
Scenic trail, bit wet and muddy for my taste in April. Cant imagine it ever dries out completely. Like to try it in the winter
Trails not marked. Took upper woodland trail. when we got to the power lines there was no indication of where to go. It was not to the left
Great for running, walking, biking
These trails used to be an enjoyable walk, very relaxing. Now, all the trails are overgrown and littered with poison ivy...shameful that its not taken care of better.
Too many trees across trail
Loved the scenic trails
A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. There are several points of interest at this location check out the on site map and visit the locations yourself. Stand on the bridge within the location quietly and wait for the deer to come by.
Very woodsy.
Wonderful walking and biking trail, very scenic
Nice local, flat trail. Good for walking and biking out in the woods.
Beautiful scenery and pretty nice spot to chill.
Nice walk in the woods, rare direction postings, got lost, found our way back, needs more posting to keep people on the right path
Awesome walking trails, great place to take your dog (even though theyre not allowed, technically). Quiet and secluded.
Very much a nature trail but some are overgrown and tough to follow...at certain times of year
Nice place to take a hike
Very overgrown trail and seemed like there were more mosquitoes than other trails. Would probably be nicer to walk it in the fall.
Fun place
Kinda overgrown, long pants
