5 STAR performances! As you walk in, Good coffees, wines & snacks. All seats are in a concentric circles around the stage. Making for intimate, evocative, powerful performances. The TALENTED singers leave you shattered into small broken pieces, assended heaven, depending on song. Always sad if I miss a classic . Walking on air for days, after I see one. Truly a Sacramento TREAT! Treat yourself... Or better yet, leave ME a ticket!
We got the season passes for the summer season and I can say with 100 percent confidence that it was completely worth it. Each show has been magical to say the least. The lighting design and stage set up is always astounding and serves to further the already amazing performance. These arent picture perfect plays, but they are magnificent and honestly its the little flaws that make the performance that more captivating and immersive. I regularly recommend going here.
I love this theater! Always a lot of fun and they are so creative with their sets since its a round stage in the middle of the room. Ive never been dissatisfied yet and have been coming here for years. Parking can be a little cumbersome so come early. They also have booths of food, beverages and snacks outside before and during the intermission.
Such a fun venue for seeing musicals. Pre-show and intermission drinks and concessions are available, and are reasonably priced. Weve seen Cabaret and Nice Work If You Can Get It here, and the acting, sets, and music were all top notch. I have no doubt well see more shows here next season. Ticket prices are reasonable, and there really isnt a bad seat in the house.
I saw Guys & Dolls with my friend. I try to go to a few Music Circus productions every year. It is more pricey than going to a movie...but the live performance is well worth it. And the theater in the round format makes you feel part of the show with the performers entering and exiting the stage in the aisles right next to your seats. It makes a fun and exciting theater experience!
The Wells Fargo Pavilion, aka The Music Circus Theater. The inside of the theater stage is not your normal front facing stage. This stage is a circle with 4 sides for Walkways or runways for the actors that surround the stage. Also 2 sets stairs that lead to the Rafters and Catwalks for the actors. The Props would be lowered from the rafters and other props would be rolled to the stage during Scene changes. We seen The Heights, a musical created by Lin Manuel Miranda. It was a pretty good story with the Cast performance full of emotion and great singing. Pretty good place.
Its truly a great venue for theater arts, there isnt a bad seat in the house though some seats are more easily accessible than others. There are no obstructed views behind poles like in the past era of Music Circus. And no matter what show is in the house its well presented.
The atmosphere is low key. Everyone is friendly. You can see well from pretty much every seat in the house. Unlike most theaters, they let you take your drinks into the theater, but they must be purchased there.
Great venue, but not a big enough production for my taste!
Wonderful experience from start to finish. Love you guys!! Keep it up!!
I love the Music Circus at the Pavilion. The shows are great and the employees are wonderful! It is a fun atmosphere with some extremely talented people.
The way the building is designed, it didnt seem to be any bad seats in the house. However this was my first time being there.
Saw The Wiz here last night. Great show. Grat sound. Band hidden under stage. Worked well. Seats a little snug.
I love to see the Music Circus. Saw Guys & Dolls on Tues - great performance!
Went here with my family to watch A Christmas Carol play. It was an entertaining production with quality costumes, set, and acting. I sometimes get bored at plays, but this one captured my interest. They could offer a better selection of snacks during intermission, but its not that important. The grounds of the theatre are very nice. I plan to return to see future productions at this location. Also, this is located downtown where parking is becoming more challenging. There is a parking structure across the street from the theatre and street parking, so there is no problem with parking.
A date-night favorite! But its a good thing we dont eat here often - Alfredo fettuccine with sauteed mushrooms, buttered sourdough bread, and ice cream for dessert....a heart-attack-on-a-plate
I saw an excellent play there. The ushers were very helpful, as was the lady who showed us where to go and also yo get our seats.
If youve lived in Sacramento awhile you probably went to the Music Circus when it was still a tent. This place has gone through some serious upgrades. It is very clean and modern. Great acoustics and 360 degree stage. They do a great job of making every seat have a good angle to see the play. Wife and I are now considering season passes. Bravo
If youre a life long fan live theater and musicals, a show can seem brand new here at their theater in the round. No bad seats, each show is a unique experience, and always exciting to watch the play up close when it takes place in the aisle next to you. Plus the occasional surprise Broadway or famous actor maybe part of the cast. Recommend at least one show a season and see for yourself why this is such a unique experience for theater right here in Sacramento.
We had amazing seats. I always enjoy attending this theater
Never a bad show! Talent and productions are outstanding.
Small but nice theatre that provides a connecting interaction between performers and crowd. Really enjoyed the season preview show.
Theater in the round is always fun. No bad seat in the house and great performance
High quality live shows with live music and live performers. Its theater in the round in a setting where everyone has a good seat. The performers and choreographers do a fantastic job. They make use of the entire theater providing an intimate experience. The show makes use of the aisles and the area above the stage providing an engaging and immersive experience.
Music Circus is so awesome! I ushered there every summer for 6 years and loved it! If you are visiting during the summer, make sure you attend one of the plays!
We love the Music Circus and dinner at Moxie beforehand makes for a great evening.
California Musical Theatre is one of the premiere musical theatre companies in California. While they are well known for their Broadway Series national touring shows performed at the Community Center, it is the Wells Fargo Pavilion that is their Summer venue for the Music Circus series. These five to seven summer shows are produced specifically for this in-the-round arena stage and are typically only run for one week each, during July and August. They include accompaniment by some of the best musicians in the region and fantastic actors from all over the country, including many with Broadway credentials. The Pavilion seats around 2200 and often sells out on popular shows, so buy your subscription or single tickets early.
I live this place. Not a bad seat.
This place used to be outside but not anymore. Very intimate due to the fact the stage is a circle with seating all around. Not very big so stage is not to far away. Gets a little cold inside. Parking garage across the street but be ready to wait inside about 35 minutes before you move. Look for street parking!
Its always wonderful. Cant wait for the Summer performance to start.
If have kids or are a grown up kid this Shrek was a mut see. So much fun
Not a bad seat in the house. It can handle the crowd. The performance was amazing. Not sure about the parking, heard it takes a long time to get out of the lot. Maybe try parking a block away.
The Wiz and Oklahoma were wonderful performances.
Fantastic musical In The Heights!
Shrek was great. Not a bad seat in the building. A little disappointed that there wasnt a merch booth after the show.
JTf was iconicccccc
Theres not a bad seat at any of the stages. Staff is always friendly, always helpful. Lots of good shows at decent prices.
Nice cozy venue, comfortable seats with leg room.
In the Heights... Magnificent Show.
Great venue! Not a bad seat in the house! Never a bad performance.
Its a small little theater for family to enjoy
Have season tickets!!!! Great quality of live theater.
Every show is MORE than worth the price of admission. Come early..eat dinner..go to the show!!!!
Amazing show. Great atmosphere
Was there for the Junior Theatre Festival, Amazing performances and incredibly good sound.
Shows are excellent with the 360 stage. Some shows the stage makes it important where you are sitting but other all seats are excellent because of the way the actors move around.
Not enough aisles for easily accessible seating. Nor do seats line up well so to prevent looking at the back of the tall guys head immediately in front of you. Shallow pitch to seating as well, exacerbating that problem. Theater in the round is fun. But avoid parking in the nearby multi-story garage, if you need to get home quickly.
Saw Mama Mis tonight. It was a great show. Parking is the challenge. We park in the garage a cross the street. All in all, great venue.
Theater in the round. Professional musicals done right! You will have a great time! Abundant parking nearby.
We have long enjoyed theater in Sacramento and the Wells Fargo Pavilion is one of our favorite venues. There is literally not a bad seat in the house and the productions are exceptional!
Great venue, fun to see a show in the round, but the lobbies and common areas show their age. Nice helpful staff. Seemed to be dramatically short on womens restroom.
The venue is awesome and the shows are fantastic.
Saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame this summer and thought it was magnificently staged. The directors concept was creative and innovative. I loved seeing an actor from Deaf West. I was a huge fan of Deaf Wests Spring Awakening. Id love to see Music Circus continue to do groundbreaking works and new musicals like Hunchback!
Great entertainment, comfortable setting and friendly people!
My favorite place to see a play. Lovely theater, amazing customer service.
This venue is a unique place to see amazing Broadway shows. Not a bad seat in the house!
Went to see the play Gypsy .It was magnificent! Lovely theater and great service
Music Circus is the best. Much better than Community Center events.
Such a magical place to go
Great show!! (The Drowsy Chaperone)
I go here for the Sacramento Music Circus musicals in the summer. Its a wonderful round theater where all the actors enter through the aisles. Lots of options for snacks and drinks during intermission and before the play. Plus, you can bring your treats to your seat and enjoy them during the musical! The plays sell out or gets close to it every night. Despite having lots of concession stands and bathrooms there are still long lines during intermission. Not much the company can do about it though.I would definitely recommend going to one of the musicals that suits your interest. Minimal staging, but wonderful costumes, singing, acting, and dancing.
My wife and I went to see Gypsy with one of our daughters and her husband. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of theater in the round. As at most venues of this sort, the line for the ladies room at intermission was horrendous and many spent the entire break standing in line.
Went to see the Play Gypsy. Great show! The service and building just Perfect!
It was cool inside there was a visibility issue but not bad enough for me to miss anything. Newsies was very good...
Excellent venue to watch a performance.
The Shrek musical was great!
Loved it! No bad seats!
The music circus is always a treat. The seats have a good view from everywhere unless a tall person sits in front of you.
Great place to see shows
Linda and I have enjoyed every show we have seen here. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Great theater. Clean and easy to find. Parking was easy too.
Great experience and wonderful venue.
Loved the WIZ here!
They always put on a great performance. The actors are spectacular
Sad. The shows are all dated and performances lackluster with some bright spots. (Great job with actual rain during Singin in the Rain - but it sure wasnt Gene Kelley.) We wont renew our season tix based on shows to date this year. Great staff, though.
I like the circular design of the theater allowing for great views of the performance and multiple entries/exits. I also like the multiple restroom locations and concessions. It aids for greater convenience and shorter lines.
Always an entertaining experience!
Nice place to visit.
Fun, all good seats
Not a bad seat in the house. Love this place for musicals
All.seats are great seats here! The talent is top-notch in every show!
Classic musicals..great acting and dancing, I go every summer...very entertaining and gives more culture:)
The musicals are top notch. The orchestra is always on point. I have been a subscriber for years. My extended family has been an integral part of Music Circus for decades. I am so grateful for the air conditioned tent. I do wish the aisles would clear more quickly than they do and that the bathrooms werent so busy at intermiasion. Thank you Music Circus for the years of entertainment and lightening of my spirit and heart.
Awesome found a new hobby
They always put on an excellent show... Little Shop of Horrors was awesome!
Very nice space for presentations and events.
Newsies and Gypsy were great performances. Always a fun experience.
