I was enjoying the musicians and admired the courage it took for each person or group to get up on stage. However, by 11pm I had not yet performed but several folks who were behind me had been called up to perform. I was not at all happy that the host allowed people to change the order of performers even though we all stood in line to sign up but when I said something he said he didn’t do it, that the people did it on their own - yet the sign up was in front of him the entire time. It was hard enough to build the courage to show up but I have a disability and being pushed back to 11:30pm was really frustrating. I hope they can honor the signups next time. Being new the impression was that you’re not “in” unless you’re in. Disappointing.

Authentic prohibition-era bar with excellent atmosphere and drinks. Live music and entertainment, great local music nights.

I’ve been going here on and off for years. They have open mic on Wednesday nights which can be pretty fun after a couple of beers and shots. Sierra Nevada in a bottle just the way I like it!

This is Old School bar with cheap selection to get a Cold One or hear live musical artists! Always a fun crowd, sometimes better musical acts than others but way too much enjoyment not to attend!

This is a nice bar with a bit of a dive-y atmosphere that I enjoy. The bartenders are all really nice and run a tight ship. There is a great set of open mics for music and comedy. Their regular event Real Live Comedians is quiet fun and draws good quality comics. The venue if lovely for comedy and music. The performance space has a low ceiling and the set-up contributes to intimacy with an audience.This is also a great spot for a date or a small group for happy hour!

A terrible venue. Very little seating, and awkward space. The bartenders are nice, but the well drinks are so cheap they can give you a headache. And I wouldnt be surprised to find out if their wine came out of a box. The Karaoke DJs heavily favor the big tippers so if you dont want to drop a $5 for every single song, you may want to find somewhere else.

Called there just to ask a question and the guy was very rude. I understand that sometimes people are busy but that’s not how you’re supposed to treat customers.

Ive been here a few times over the last couple of months and have enjoyed each time. The staff/bartenders have always been really friendly and quick with drink orders. The crowd has been great, no pretentiosness here, all different types of people are hanging out. If youre in the mood for a dive with good people, music, and food you should check it out.

One of the best local bars ever, friendly staff, accommodating venue, clean bathrooms and all around great bar. Lots of local music, great drinks and awesome bartenders makes this a must see for anyone living or visiting Sacramento

Oldest bar in Sacramento and a fun place for live music and cheap drinks. Monday nights they have a guest chef serving something completely random and it is always good!

Awesome bartender (Art (loves sports)) who actually seems like he wants you there, who wants to ensure youre taken care of, plenty of locals that knew him. Good beer list. Food three times a week in the evening (different each day so complicated to explain here) so come thirsty not hungry although maybe youll get lucky and be there on a Monday when theres a guest Chef. Jukebox playing for free or for pay. Place has been around, and owned by the same family, since 1934. For ingress players you sit on two portals. An L7 and an L8 when I was there.Live bands sometimes (Fact: Cake played here.)

I like the Monday music played by the Marshall Tucker Band. Meatless Monday is special because local food startup companies provide the food.There is a community of people who I know who also come to the events
