Food was good.. service just took forever for us.. had to chase down our server.. its not the firt time it has happened while eating here.. at first i let it go thinking it was probably because they were busy.. but when i went to the restroom (and then at the end when i had to chase someone down to pay after waiting for very long) i had seen that my server was inside having drinks and just having a good time.. i will not be going back..

Great food, hospitality and fast service two up

Before the pandemic this was one of my favorite restaurants/bars.2 of us walked in Saturday night, they didnt seem too busy. We got sat quick and no one returned, after 10 minutes we left.

The food is constantly well prepared and tasty, workers hands out good service. I like how clean it is and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

I hate leaving bad post I really do. But when you call in your order pre pay and wait 40 mins when you arrive and to top it off the charge me for guac and I got none

Honestly I dont see why this place is so popular, the food is mediocre, the staff is slow and non attentive. So, I went on a Saturday night, pretty crowded, so I didnt mind the wait to get seated. But once sat no one came to greet for at least 15 mins, after ordering, they messed up the orders, but that aside I got the fish and shrimp tacos. Both are bland and pretty basic. The mixed drinks are decent and flavorful. I would not recommend the papas with asada (aka carne asada fries) its disgusting compared to other places. Also it took the staff forever to come back to the table after the food was brought out. We just wanted more napkins and a straw. Lastly, the banda that was playing sucked, he had to use his phone to look at lyrics to sing.

This was my first visit to Chandos Cantina to celebrate my sons and my own Birthday. We were seated at the patio that had a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. There was also a bar on the patio. They also have Mariachis on Friday. Now to the food; It was amazing, I had the shrimp tacos amd they were delicious!! I also tried a carnitas taco and it to was delicious looking forward to going back soon

Great menu fantastic food!!! Open for outdoors seating only a few tables and take out due to covid 19. Got the chondos tacos very well made tasted great! Definitely would go back again. Try it out if you love authentic mexican food.

Good downtown stop for drinks and Mexican food. Excellent service. Their signature meats are all good and they do have veggie options. My food could have been a little hotter temperature wise but flavors are great. Really good drinks. Tip: if the door by the corner is locked try the next door south. Dont know why they dont put up a sign they are losing business. But makes it easier to get a table

Love coming to this place to pre game drinks are good

They used old food they probably didnt use during them being closed. The salsa and guac was old and had that tingly feeling. Tacos couldve been made better at your house or a drive thru taco spot. The drinks were great though but watered down

I’ve had catered Chandon before but this is the first time I’ve been to one of their locations. There service was really nice and the food (fish tacos) was awesome. I’ll have to go back there again but maybe when it’s not too crowded.

Came in with a party of 6, they had no disposable menus, server said it was to expensive to print menus, you have to go online on your cell to view the menu, not a single bottle of hand sanitizer any where, menu was very limited (I understand )but the we’re out of some items, Server told us after we had already order, food was ok, service ok, not very well run restaurant, I’ve been a chef all my life and where I work, everything is top notch.I would not go back to Chandos.

Chandos is a Sacramento institution and for very good reasons. The staff is friendly and attentive even when clearly busy. The food is top notch and of the same quality as the original Chandos on Arden. I went in thinking mulitas, (I dont know anywhere else in town that makes them), but went for an adobado burrito. No regrets. The habanero salsa on the side kicked it up a notch without losing the great flavors their meats carry.If you havent, you need to.

Good place to be with friends and drink. the food Im not sure didnt try it. And the live music is good I like best after like 12am more of dancing. Is a good place to get away.

First time going too this restaurant and it was so much fun! There’s mariachi and tamborazo. The food is excellent and the drinks are creative. I really enjoyed the atmosphere

I ate so many kinds of food everywhere but nothing this bad. We were three people ordered three different things and none of them were good. Never ever order enchiladas. They are the worst. Just rolled over tacos with horrible sauce drizzled over them.

From the moment you step in this restaurant the waiters give you a comfortable feeling. Very courteous waiters, it is a happy restaurant to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. Excellent meals, experienced chef, reasonable cost and courteous service. Warmly recommended.

I was asked to meet there for a Businesses meeting and I must say service was great had some keto tacos and have to say were very tasty. Angel provided great customer service and was very attentive.

What can I say about Chandos that is not already known? Fabulous service. The food will floor you & the Cantina is absolutely beautiful and features great live music!

Bomb the food but the salsa not go good

Outstanding place for Mexican food. a preferred evening place. nothing but pleasant experiences here. this place has an awesome atmosphere.

We went to chandos for the first time and I didnt really know what to expect. Id heard a lot from some co-workers because the place I work for used to be right next door to chandos, and most of the stories Id heard were about wild nights out. We went for afternoon tacos and I asked for three random meats in my tacos. Not disappointed. Well definitely be back; was worth stopping by.

Great shrimp tacos (Tacos El Gobernador). Chips and salsa (quite the variety) were plentiful.

Great neighborhood joint for authentic Mexican food. I helped the manager get a bicycle rack installed outside after the last one was run over by...you guessed it...a vehicle. Great art, Intimate seating. This would be a good spot for first date night.

Cant wait to go there when theres music. Im so happy with what they did to the place. Its located right next to the parking garage which is convenient. The building itself is decorated nicely. And there is a great variety on the food menu. I had the sopes and they were delicious!

We had the best service! Our waiter was the best! He even ran after me down the street when I left my card with the bill.The elotes are so good and the potato tacos were delicious! I wish I knew the waiters name. He had a little ponytail.

I went here for a get together with some coworkers. Food was amazing. Excellent drinks. I recommend the seasonal Cranberry Mojito. Mmmm yummy.

It was a crazy busy lunch and we had a large group, but the staff was very professional and did a great job. We were served fairly quickly and they knew exactly who ordered what. We were impressed with their hard work and the good food!

Went for a taco Tuesday they had $4 margaritas, $2 canned beers if you get at least 3, and $2 tacos if you get at least 3. Was spicy and yummy! Didnt blow me away..

I came here for lunch right as it opened. I usually go to the location on Power Inn and Im good with a simpler ambience for my tacos. This location was definitely nice with the cantina theme. There are TVs everywhere. Food is more expensive and it felt like it tasted different. If I come back, it will probably be for drinks instead. They have a great looking bar and separate area for night life

I love their food and their drinks. I would definitely come back. Only thing is it is super loud in here so it may be hard to actually have a conversation with whomever your there with. I would definitely recommend it regardless. Definitely worth it

I spent a great time here

Went on Tuesday for lunch (taco Tuesday). Our group of 4 was seated immediately but after 5 minutes in a half-empty restaurant we walked out. We watched as a group of 3 was seated and immediately offered water and drink orders were taken.

Food was delicious. Taco Tuesday 2.50 a taco with lots of meat choices. Music was really loud though and service was just ok

Im not that big of a Chandos food fan, although the chicken quesadilla I had this night was tasty. The karaoke here is super fun!

We arrived for lunch with coworkers for taco Tuesday. We get seated and given menus. After 15 mins the server not once drop by the table after to take orders or to give us water. But during that time the table next to use got seated and were given waters right away. At this point we left and went over to Aura a few blocks down for their taco Tuesday. The menus are old and dirty, the AC is broken.

Came for my birthday and I loved it!! Good food and definitely good drinks.. Oh and the Mariachi was killin it!!!

Food and Service is Excellent!

Very delicious food. Not your normal fast food. These people truest know how to elevate the food’s taste and still keep the cost low. Make a reservation before you go because the line can be 30-40 minutes on the weekends. Also if you happen to just do a last minute decision, you can asked them to seat you outside in their balcony so you don’t have to wait.

I had the chicken tacos. Tacos were small (street taco size) so you may want to double up on the order if youre hungry but they were delicious!!! My friend had the burrito which looked really good too and more filling. Place has a cool vibe and very open seating. $10 - $15 for lunch.

Girlfriend had tamarind I drink with candy in it, also had a yummy mango drink with a mango paleta and a beer. Not a fan of mariachi so we left, environmental was cool, the security actually convinced us to come in.

First time Ive ever been there, want to support a band member, got to the third song of the second group I had to leave cuz it was so miserably hot. I asked the manager she could simply turn the fans on to cool it off in the room her response was that the air conditioner was up as high as they go and she see what she could do but she never turn the ceiling fans on... It was so hot that I felt like I was going to pass out so I left. The bartender couldnt make a drink that was even halfway decent, I gave it to stars and I was being generous and that was because our waitress he was there for her first night was very sweet.I have to say chances are pretty unlikely Ill ever go back.

Great service, good food, and delicious drinks. It sucks that theres a cover charge for when they have a band. The place pretty much turns into a club.

It was a fun atmosphere and we enjoyed the food. The menu had a different selection than the standard restaurants which was a nice change. We sat on the stage side of the restaurant which was prepped for music and dancing so we enjoyed the live mariachi band. (Im not sure if it was quieter on the other side of the restaurant but we went for the live music so it was what we expected.) The cocktails were tasty but not very strong. The service was attentative and never pushy. We had a relaxing evening and enjoyed our time there. Well definitely go back and take friends.

Surprisingly, having been to two of Chandos other restaurants, the food that my partner and I had was inferior rubbery beef in a taco shell with a hot sauce that I would have preferred to moderate. It was a two star cocktail hour meal for us. Why the four star review? Well, the margarita was good, the service excellent, and the ambience comfortable. In summary, if you want a good cocktail hour treat, go elsewhere. However, if you want a few drinks in an interesting setting, this is worth exploring. Will I be back? Probably not.

Excellent tacos hands down. Big place.... It almost feel a like a theatre. Even better the wait staff is very attentive and provides fast service. Try the Esquire corn salsa!

Fun place! Excellent street tacos. Largest selection of different street taco options Ive ever seen offered by one restaurant. The music is always jumpin here. They mix it up between live bands (mariachi and banda) later in the week on Friday and Saturdays and DJ or karaoke earlier in the week on Tuesday through Thursday. Their staff is friendly and very welcoming. Made us feel like family on our first visit. This has become my favorite place to eat or enjoy happy hour when Im downtown. Their prices on food and drinks are reasonably priced, which also contributes to making it a desirable place to eat outside of happy hour. Great entertainment almost every night of the week. Its hard to not have fun here!
