Went there to see City Morgue with NYCL Kai and Tokyos Revenge on 3/12/20. Was one of the best experiences of my life. The bartenders were really down to earth and enjoyable to talk to aswell. Definitely gonna come again if somebody I wanna see comes to town!

Its an all around dope place. They play good music over the speakers. And the upstairs stage is big enough for a good number of people to perform. And the bar up there has a good selection. Saw City Morgue play and it was a blast. If you have the chance to see your favorite band to play here, Id highly suggest going here. I love this place.

The venue is great for what they do there. The downstairs bar area is well lit, with some cool pinball machinesThe upstairs stage area is awesome, with a small bar as well. Security did thier job, and did it properly. They didnt harass people in the pit, and when they acted, it was swift and decisive. Cant wait to go back.

Holy Diver is a great venue in Sacramento with a cool Bar downstairs with lots of awesome decor and plenty of room and nice bartenders. The food is great and then upstairs is a dope party room for live shows, where I perform monthly with The Darling Clementines! its a pleasure to be at and work with Holy Diver in Sacramento!

Aces of spades is so much better. This place is too small and its standing Room only. This doesnt work when you have a classic show rock band metal band for the boomers or even Gen. X ers who partied too much. We had to leave early and missed the main event as we didnt know great white had two warm up bands and werent going to be on stage till 10:00 p.m. our knees started buckling up from standing so long. Boo hiss on holy diver. You need to provide seating on the perimeter.

Holy Diver is a fantastic spot in the heart of Sacramento. Its a small unique bar with an upstairs concert area and small bar for local bands. Theyre reasonably priced and in a great location. They offer adult drinks and pizza/small bites to eat. Theres a bar downstairs littered (in an awesome way) of band posters, etc. Love the atmosphere of this place.Just make sure you dont park in the back lot, its street parking only. On the weekends it may be free depending on where you park.

Awesome venue! Suits the atmosphere of the performances that they host here. It retains its underground feeling and allows you to engage the bands more intimately. Dont come here expecting a polite, quiet night. Prepare to get crazy, energized and hot.

Intimate venue with seating at the bottom floor and the stage on the second floor. Went to see Ramirez, when the crowd got hype and started jumping around the floor buckled just a tad which made me nervous but after a few drinks I forgot about it haha. Small music venue upstairs above a bar located below it. Standing room only but has really good sound. The only complaint I have is that they had to run a large industrial fan in order to keep the place cool. That was great as far as keeping everyone cool, the problem was that on more mellow songs the noise was very distracting.

It was a lil cramped and very hot, though I liked the show and intimacy of the crowd. I might question if Id do a sold out show, especially in a hot summer. But it was an enjoyable experience.

Very small venue, so I dont know what it would be like seeing a more popular band. But I still had fun. As a musician, proper sound is a must. The sound guy did a good job. Way better than whoever is at Ace of spades. Good food, I dont drink but the bar was nice. Overall good experience

Neat spot to catch a show. It wouldnt hurt them to turn the ac though. Make sure to wear comfy shoes because there is no staying around the stage and you have to walk up a serious flight of stairs to get to the performances. Luckily they do play the performances on the many tv screens they have down stairs.

I love this place. Its a great small concert venue. Its pretty easy to get right in front of the band. The pizza is good. And the place looks really cool on the inside. Its got all kinds of movie and Van posters all of the walls. The bathroom walls are painted black with men stickers and graffiti. I really nice cool little place.

Typical dive bar with a space for live music. It unfortunately is subpar for sound and takes longer to get drinks than it should. Has a bunch of heavily tattooed large breasted women serving drinks that are more interested in flirting for tips than serving. Bathrooms are always a mess and at least one station is always broken. Maybe if I was 21 again this would be a cool spot. If Sacramento had more live venues that could handle a similar crowd, the place would probably get rated lower. But since there isnt, 3 stars.

I really wanted to like this place... BUT, As most other reviews mention. It gets crazy HOT! And its not just the temperature, it feels like theres no air being pumped into the room. It felt hard to breathe in there. By the time the headlining band came on stage, I felt sick. And I could not enjoy the show at all. It was basically torture being up there and I had to even take a break halfway thru the bands set to go downstairs for a song or two and catch my breath. I would not recommend this venue to anyone, and I dont see myself ever going back....But hey, with that said, big props to them for having an all ages music venue. And one that books some really good bands. If the heat/air wasnt such a gigantic problem, Id probably be there weekly.

Awesome. Entrance was kinda odd, the dude to give you the 21+ wrist band is hiding in the corner by the door, so he kinda scared me a bit when he asked for my id lol. 5$ cover charge that you can pay for online or in person, and the live concert area is upstairs. What i think is the coolest thing is that they have PINBALL machines just past the bar. You can enjoy your beer and smash some pinball before the concerts start! They get some local bands to play there on tuesdays as far as i know, ive only been there on tuesday. But yeah, definitely worth the visit, will definitely go again.

Great show! Sound was better than most venues that small. Hot as balls in there by the time the second band came on though. Beer selection is typical, mostly IPA. Beer on tap is served in plastic cups though :( and the bartenders werent very nice the day we went there but you can get a big slice of pizza for 5 bucks. If they have more reggae shows is go back. Mostly a rock/metal venue from what I can tell but they mix it up some.

Parking was a nightmare, Uuuugh seriously, wound up blocks away...finally we got in, and after standing in line for 40 minutes, we were led upstairs. There was no seating so we had to stand the entire time of the concert...the music was extremely loud at times, my ears hurt...it was hot, but there was a big fan blowing on us. The tiny cups of diet coke were 3 bucks each...meh, I was relieved when concert was over...total cost of date: 40 for two tix, 23 for pizza n diet cokes, 60 for souvenirs (one t shirt and two vinyl records) = $123Thats not a bad price necessarily, just hated standing the whole time, and parking blocks away. The staff was nice, service was good, and the pizza was .I dont know if Id return just bc of the parking situation, and it was too long to stand after a hard days work.

They should add little tables and chairs upstairs, no ADA area, the downstairs dining area should be remodeled, it takes a lot of space for little amount of people. In Summer is an oven, too crowded ...many of my friends leave after 1 or 2 hours. Bands are great, but sadly the venue needs to make changes to make people stay longer and feel comfortable. Also a great idea is to place some screens to see the live show downstairs and near the bar upstairs. Like at The Chapel in San Francisco, the venue is big and you can enjoy the show wherever you are.
