Love this local small concert venue. So much fun, but get there early because the line gets long sure to an extensive security check in, which I appreciate to keep everyone safe. In addition, if you want to get to the front of the stage or upstairs seats ( which you can reserve specific areas) its important to arrive early. Dont bring a lot either since bags beyond a specific size arent allowed in.
Great club atmosphere. Big show with lots of people. It took almost 2 hours to get inside from the time they opened the doors. Once inside the show had already started. It was Led Zeppelin 2 does 3. Great show! Very hot and stuffy inside, more fresh air would have been nice. Bars did a good job of keeping drinks available quick. Excellent sound system.
This is one of my favorite go-to concert venues. I have discovered the upstairs additional fee but well worth it for the seats. Theres only a limited number per show but they are completely separate and roped off from the general public and very comfortable and again, my favorite way to see if shell. Great View plus it includes food service from your seat as well as a bar right behind you. I have had nothing but great experiences here with the staff, and will continue to come here because of the way they treat me every time I do come. Cecilia is the person that has been taking care of me and is fantastic. If you want a great experience, talk to her and upgrade to the seats upstairs. You will be happy you spend extra money
Great venue the staff were friendly and helpful, the stage, sound and lighting is great, and the atmosphere is amazing. The layout for shows is very good as well. I would like to see a show here again when visiting Sacramento again.
First time at this venue, but was highly recommended. Location is excellent, very close to bars and restaurants for the pre concert festivities. Access and security were fairly standard, once inside the layout and bar provide good flow. Sound and acoustics were average. Get there early for close parking.
Best place for a punk rock concert in Sacramento. I will forever be a fan. I love it here so much. The setup is perfect even as a small venue.
I watched Polyphia and Issues here. This venue had lovely acoustics, and i could hear crisp and clear standing at the back. It is huge and spacey, unlike most venues where it can get really cramped and crowded.
Went for Jidenna concert, perfect sized venue for a good concert.
A venue with good vibes. Nice location. But be prepared to stand elbow to elbows when the best acts are there. Food, drinks, all ages. Lets dance.
The Michael Jackson tribute show was really good, the singer was pretty spot on with all of Michaels moves.
Good ambiance here. Plenty of bars, restrooms. Only drawback is what makes it feel old school is mostly standing room only. Sound is great people are cooperative and I liked the fact security was present and friendly
Been coming here since it opened like 9 years ago. Been to hundreds of shows here. Its overall a decent concert venue. I can dig it. Probably the best small venue Sacramento has and one of the best of all time!
This is my all time favorite venue in all of Sacramento. It’s a perfect mix in between small and big. There’s seating on both sides, reserved for people over 21. And there’s 3 bars. It’s kept very very clean. There’s an upstairs area that’s also for 21+ (I think) they’re very strict about carding. The security is attentive. Best thing is to show up after doors open, about thirty minutes after. The venue is so intimate and it doesn’t mean that you will be stuck at the back. You can easily make it to the front even when showing up later. Park across the street in the parking garage!! It’s only like $12. Bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to sound, this place is bumping!
I did not have high expectations before my first experience at Ace of Spades. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a bit of a hassle getting in but for good reason. Wanding and security checks are serious business here. The club itself is pretty good acoustically with a lot of room by the stage to get a close up view of the band and do some dancing. Security and the crowd does not tolerate any stupid stuff. I used the premium seating to have a good view, drink and food service and the opportunity to hit the floor but have a seat waiting for you. Decades ago I would be on the floor next to the stage. Limited food service from Cafe Bernardo next door. I had a good time!
IT WAS MY FIRST TIME HERE...I HAD A GOOD TIME
Had Great experience showing art at this location! The Ace of Spades staff all were on the ball tonight and the space itself was clean, perfect temp and decently lit! I was worried it would be either too cold with the doors constantly opening, or too warm since it was a packed night, but some how they managed it!
Cool place to see shows, just dont try and vape or smoke! They will flash there lights at you!
Nice small venue. But there was an 1.5 hour wait between the first band and the headliner. We almost left waiting for main act, after seeing her we should have not wasted our time staying.
Love this local music venue! We’ve seen some excellent artists and even though at times it is crowded, it’s a much more intimate setting than a large venue. Bebe Rexha and Andy Grammar are two of our most recent concerts. Will definitely be back again.
Great location and venue! I will definitely go to more concerts there and make an evening of it with the many great restaurants around it.
First time going...I lost my car keys when i went to see Too Short show. They found them and i got my keys back several days later thank God. Im very pleased how things are ran there, and had a great time (except for losing keys). Its a good safe place.
Ace of Spades is one of the ultimate destinations for music Ive ever been to. The way the venue maintains a view of the artist from nearly any place in the building is a refreshing departure from the usual crammed spaces of most venues. Additionally the lines on the ground marking where people can stand vs walk makes for an excellent experience. Also, the sound system is top notch and worth every dollar for whoever you see play.
Everything except the second warm up guy was great. He mistook loud for ability. He should go back to Texas and practice. The first opener was great. And Dead South. What Can I Say!!!! They were just as good as Id hoped. Cant wait to see them again..but in a seated venue. We older fans cant stand for 3 hours.
It was a great night, and the bands were fantastic. We truly enjoyed our time at the show. Drinks were well made as well. The only thing I would do to improve the place is to add some seating at the bars. While there are seats there, you have to pay extra for them. I would recommend this place and cant wait to return.
Michael and his team were amazing. Very professional and easy to work with. My event was a success in large part because of Ace of Spades. I will use them again soon.
Not a bad spot. We got VIP seats upstairs so it was cool and comfy. We had a server so that was a plus. Only complaint would be the crowd is immature, or at least some. We had an incident occur and security didnt do anything about it so we just left. Lost out on about an hour of the concert.
Really a wonderful venue! Great beer, great drinks. Friendly people, wonderful food, and just a perfect atmosphere to see Atmosphere!
If you arent a fan of crushing crowds stick with lesser known bands, in this venue they get the big stage they deserve and there is usually room for dancing. For big names it gets too crowded and hot for my tastes. And if you are short get up front early so you can have an excellent view. Still love the venue, just for certain shows.
Definitely bigger venue inside than I expected, which is great. The bathrooms are accessible, and theres usually a great show happening every night. I went there for the Selena Tribute band and I couldnt be happier with the acoustics, though the drink prices are steep.
Great local venue! Hollywood Undead was amazing!
From my standpoint the concept is good, but the floor is a little hard to dance on. It needs to be a little Slicker the drinks from my standpoint, I guess with age. Are a little higher price than they should be I should be one to $2 cheaper than what they are. Other than that, its good.
Great show! Loved the intimate setting.
The line to get in this place moves slower than my 95 year old mom!How can they not figure this out??I think the show started an hour ago, and this line has at least another hour!
Simply amazing. Not only was the music and lights phenomenal, also the staff were very friendly and helpful. Well organized events after over 5 visits, and also the venue itself is a perfect size for an intimate concert but with lots of energy.
I love this venue. It has some of the best bands and you can have a great view from the very front to the very back.
While I love this venue the sound was terrible for the Pennywise concert. It was a strain to hear the singers and the bass was buzzing the speakers and way too over powering all the other range. Usually there is well rounded sound and I am no engineer. Of course I will be back for shows and if the sound is good again then Ill reflect that but for now Ill keep it average.
Great venue to see some live music and plenty of bartenders and the staff has got everything dialed in.
The good part of the club is that casual attire is allowed, security wands everyone, and a big dance floor with 3 bars. There is a lot of vip sections so basically you have to pay to sit and chill. I think the stage could use an effects team, but its not horrible.
Concerts here are awesome. Food, drink and music. Love small venuesStrange love - depeche mode cover band was excellent
This venue is just a tad bit cozy for my liking at times. Recently the fans for certain venues are hella rude. Sitting is limited and you can buy upgraded VIP seats. Lastly they have 4 bars. Staff always keeps you feeling safe.
If u like a smaller venue, this place awesome. Been goin for years, Im older, our boys go there with friends and dad now.never had an issue of safety either. Thank you
Nice venue with very good bartenders. There was no drama. I will definitely be coming back
Great Venue. Not a bad seat in the house!
Went to see Andy Grammar at Ace of Spades - phenomenal show. Opening was Sean Hill who did some amazing spoken word poetry with a hip hop vibe. Very slick. After the show Sean stayed and talked with the kids and posed for photos. Ace of Spades is an excellent venue to see a show.
I love this venue. Seen many shows over the years and they have all been at a decent price. I know the venue has changed hands but hope the variety of shows and the prices dont drive the accessiblity of watching a great performance down.
Ace of Spades is a good venue, but does have issues. I usually just buy general admission tickets. However for the Atmosphere concert I purchase upgrade seating. Seats 71 and 72. This was great at first but, as the venue filled people started crowding the area and having extremely loud conversations directly behind us. I mean they were pretty much touching us. The red rope guards just got moved as people filled the upstairs. People behind us were also placing their drinks on our reserved bar seating area. Also people who did not pay to be in the reserved area kept coming in. At first the staff was on top of it, but halfway through the show it was a free for all. Our server Rita was trying her best to be security on top of doing her job. I feel the only reason was mainly because I kept asking about individuals who were not supposed to be in there. We ended up heading down stairs to finish the show, and Im glad we did. The sound quality was much better down on the floor, it was sort of muffled upstairs. I will most likely be back but Im not buying reserved seating again. No point! Its just a way for the venue to rob you of money. $80 on top of your ticket price for people breathing down your neck, sneaking in, sitting and smoking next to you all while no one enforcing the area. If youre going to have a reserved area. Make it reserved. It really put a damper on the night and show. The vibe at ground level was much more relaxed and joyful, and the air much more ventilated.
Amazing!! Fozzy was loud and all i hear is ringing in my ears! Best concert in a long time, ace of spades is a definite place to go for concerts!
Great place for events. You can find some good music and shows going on in this venue
Great taste. Wonderful place. For hanging with your friends again.
Amazing show! Lots of bars and fun music! PA system was a little loud. But awesome!
I love this venue. I like the layout. there are a couple of bars that serve really good drinks and food. They always have great bands playing there. Decent smoking area.
Went to see Niviane tonight, venue was really nice, sound system was great and we had dinner across the street. Well located with lots to eat and park vehicles within a short walking distance. Well be back soon for some really good shows coming up.
Love this place. Venue is fairly small. They almost always have something happening with someone younqill enjoy playing.
Loved the sound in this place. The venue is good sized. Only taking one star away for making everyone stand in the rain across the street while waiting to get in.
I had a great time. Ace of spades was organized and we were quickly seated and served. The band was awesome as well.
I absolutely love this place I went to see Andy Black on 4/7/19 and Im so happy, just wish it was a little bigger but overall I love it
Great venue to see a show. Floor is concrete though, so bring sturdy shoes or boots if if youre going to stand near the stage.
Always a great time with great staff
Had a great night - it was the first time I filled in on bass for Missing Persons!
Standing room only for the most part. Hot and crowded but good music. Blast from the past
Security staff got aggressive with my search going in and ripped my bra. Rude and over the top. Search to protect not to scare your customers away. Will never return no matter who is playing.
Great Venue!! Weve seen many bands here most recently Starset and Nothing More, different occasions! Jessica greenish hair now... the upstairs bartender shes amazing. Shes so attentive with a great memory on what you ordered. We will look for Jessica on our next show great customer service.
Great little music club. Gets pretty packed, but has multiple bars and really great bands
Great place to see your favorite band. Alcohol is reasonably priced, tickets usually arent that expensive, and its bigger than it looks from the outside. Just do yourself a favor and purchase the upgraded seating if you can: the floor can get VERY crowded, and youre likely to get beer spilled all over you.
We were a group of nine to see a show. We were early, went upstairs & posted up at one of the couches. We were all sitting & standing at the couch, when a member of the staff told the women in our group that they could not save seats with there coats, that were lying on the couch. I had to argue with the staff that we were occupying the seats, not saving them. The staff finally agreed & left. Not a good way to start an evening of fun.I will not return here or reccomend this venue.
Great location, small venue that hosts big names and just up and coming. Just saw Hobo Johnson that was so much fun, can wait to see Snoop next week
Cool place saw the Ratt concert
Awesome venue, great artists, saw Daryl Black and a bunch of other local artists recently, well worth the price of admission!
Great experience. SO CLOSE to the artists.
Ive been here twice. Both times to see Hobo Johnson & the Lovemakers. Great shows, great time. Definitely would see more shows here.
This place has a big stage and plenty of room to dance. Security is tight and on their job, walking around and watching everything. They scan your ID when you pass the seurity at the door, so have them out and ready. They had a $13 Modelo tall can special and they sold out from what I heard. Either way, the band sounded great and overall, a good time.
Great Tech N9ne Show! Im a Disabled Vet and they Treated me like a VIP. Thankyou! The Employee Cecilia who assisted me is Outstanding and I will return again and again. The Venue was sold out and Security handled it great.
Absolutely radical venue. Grungy feel, but clean with great sound and 4 different bars (depending on how full it is)
Small venue that packs a punch with 3 bars and 2 VIP areas. Bartender upstairs made the best drinks! VIP area can be more VIP and not let just anyone sneak in, it defeats the purpose for those that paid extra for it lol. Parking is a bit scarce here but its free if you can find it & make sure you abide by the rules on the signs other wise be ready for a ticket lol. The staff is very friendly as well.
Christina and her team of servers in VIP section were awesome. Recommend them and will return.
We came to see Twitch Angry, they opened for the Dead Kennedys!!! Holy cow! What a great venue! Plenty of places to get beverages, everyone checking to make sure theres no underage drinking. Backdoor load in, private pre-staging, merch area and plenty of room for the mosh pitt that looks like a tornado of people! All ages venue! Totally cool!
Great venue for more intimate shows
Very spacious and a great place to see live music!!
Love this venue. I like that no matter where you sit or stand, you can see the performances. I also like that they have reserved seating options.
Awesome, small venue for a FANTASTIC show (Tech N9ne). Good crowd & great staff. Cant wait for another show!
First time I was at this venue. Thought it was all hard rock or something... well friends enlightened me and then I bought 4 VIP tickets for Christian artist Travis Greene. Phenomenal, phenomenal phenomenal! I hope he comes back next year. Will also look forward to some jazz here! Bring it on!
Went with the family all ages were welcome, we took our 13 month old. Saw LP was an amazing experience only wish there was more seating.
The diamond/special seating was a bust. No one escorted me to my seat like promised. Also the seats are very far from the stage, at least 150 feet. I would not purchase those premium seats again.
A great place to go see live bands and even good headliners. And the staff that work there are very friendly.
Wasnt expecting much and was blown away. Great venue, especially at 1000 capacity. Its just big enough to accommodate major artists, while retaining the intensity of a small show. The layout is pretty good, with multiple bars and segregated pathways leading to them. The sound was pretty good too, though I felt the bass to be lacking. The ambiance is 100% metal, with a buttload of interesting wall art. The only downfall? They frown on cannabis Vapes, the smoking section is miniscule, and the drinks are radically overpriced, especially given the size of their shots. Still, one of the better venues in Sac!
Im a snow tha product fan
Nice place to see a show.
The place was packed and band was good. Wish the whole floor was sloped so the whole floor could see the band. But there is a upper level with its pin bar but the sound is not quite as good up stairs.
Saw the Voidz here and it was pretty awesome! BEARDO put on a show that was both comedic and pulled off flawlessly as a performing musician! He was acting so over-the-top as if he was a caricature of a lead guitarist and thus, was so classic! I was reminded that music can be fun and silly without sacrificing depth and musicality. Julian Casablancas is my all-time FAVORITE singerwhich in my opinion, and the fact that you can be so down to earth between songs when you were takking about watching Road House and the torn rhing
I love this place! We saw The Claypool Lennon Delirium last night and it was amazing! It was my first time there and I cant wait to go back! As someone who goes to a lot of shows this is the first place Ive ever been that provides accessible complimentary iced water!! FREE WATER!! Hats off to the Ace of Spades!!
The band was awesome and the venue is great. The merchandise didnt get there so that was a huge disappointment for the fans since Dir en Grey is from Japan and rarely tour North America.
Demon Hunter was absolutely EPIC. Great place for a show!
Great venue. Super packed with sold out shows tho
