I highly suggest those who are members of the Sacramento Poetry Center cancel your memberships immediately.Through a blatant coup, a new board named themselves, shoving out the most long-term volunteers on the board (who together make up 90 years of experience in serving on the board), without allowing paying members to have a voice in the operation (who desperately wanted a voice). It was very shady and underhanded, and something I’ve never heard of happening in similar non-profits. They also drove out a number of women who served on the board previous to this final massive overtaking, ultimately leaving only one (new) board member that identifies as a woman. It was a truly appalling power grab. DON’T give them your money.New poetry groups shall form and I suggest you keep a look out for those.
Actually we went to the Womens Wisdom Gallery thats at R25 along with the Wilkerson Theatre and other artistic endeavors.
It is a very nice environment to be in. Staff are nice! I have preformed there, two times. Really good food. Good vibe!

Absolutely wonderful to have a space to listen and share with so many amazing writers, poets and artists. Glad there is access to a bathroom, but Ill have to bring my wrench along to fix the sink knob!
Great atmosphere, great artists.
Quaint and intimate setting for readings. Good for small groups.
Literary excellence from dedicated volunteers.
Love the artwork and food.
