Its an area staple. Its a little aged, compared to the Stanley (which was recently restored) but I still love the old architecture and original features. Im glad they are using it more than in years past for movies now. I love it.

I remember this place as a kid going to the movies. I think the last movie I saw was the Disney movie. Shaggy dog. I bet it was absolutely extravagant in its heyday of the 1920s and 1930s. It is still very majestic today and well worth the visit.The seating is too cramped though.

I am from out of state and go for the silent film and early talkie film fest in August. It is the perfect venue. Great sound. Delicious popcorn. Nice people.

It is a true community gem, rich in history. Showing old movies as well as contemporary movies, even live shows!Sadly in need of some much needed TLC as well as renovations.

Watched Its a wonderful life. It was so neat seeing it on the big screen that way! The Capitol theatre, as always, looked magnificent... Such a piece of history! To sit and watch that iconic film with my wife in that place was surreal!

The Capitol Theatre has always been a family favorite. Last night was especially special as my son played in the Mama Mia production. It was amazing!!!

The city announced an upcoming renovation project that will revitilize the theator to former glory. Cant wait to see the outcome.

I have been going to The Capitol Theater since I was a young boy. Its so great that its still running. Its a piece of history that should never go away. I take my son to little events they have and tell him the stories of when I was his age. Follow them on Facebook and go to the events. They need a lot of support.

The Capitol Theatre is a historic landmark in downtown Rome, NY. It has great ambience and stays close to is roots. They always have something going for everyone. A must see place to stop by when visiting Rome. 90 years old and still going and growing. Glad to visit and glad to have it around.

If you want to see movies, go to Marquee or Rome Cinema...If you want to see a FILM, come here! First movie I saw here was American Beauty and it literally changed my life. This theater and the entire experience is infinitely less ostentatious than other chain cinemas.

Clean mid sized about 500 seats on main floor with balcony additional theater downtown in he small city of Rome. The theater has a good sound system and a large screen. Just saw 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the experience was uncompromised by any difficulties. It is very traditional no tricky seats or razzmatazz. Adequate refreshments from a modest concession stand. One of the most intriguing aspects of this facility is that it has smaller theaters where it shows lesser known films 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This makes it a major engine toward film appreciation. I helped conduct a League of Women Voters mayoral debate there a few years ago,. Packed the house. Well treated by management..accommodated perfectly.

A nice place to watch just about anything

For a smaller city of around 33,000, this place is really roomy. Even though the audio system had a couple glitches, the childrens voices carried remarkably well even to the food stand.My family was there for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Its always a pleasure to attend an event here! From concerts, to shows, to movies, the level of professionalism of the staff and volunteers and quality of the evemts is second to none! We are so fortunate to have such a magnificent venue in our city!

Have been there for events really nice looking building

Went for a marriage conference. This theatre is old and that is cool. The seats are a bit uncomfortable and the slope of the floor inadequate. I had a big dude sit in front of me and could see nothing.

We were at a dance competition. The staff was friendly. The menu at the conceession qstand was lim4ited but good. The theater needs upgrading. The bathroom were clean but small.

Great old 1920s movie palace shows 35mm classics & 2 intimate digital theaters next door screen current indie movies you cant see elsewhere. Just saw Dr. Strangelove on the big screen and Denial on digital.
