A+ Chris is a wonderful, patient teacher. I have looked for someone to teach me how to use the pottery wheel for quite a while and have been through a lot of studios. Chriss ability is effortless. He does not belittle you if you dont understand nor does he get frustrated. It is a very different experience. Not to mention the studio is spotless.

The classes are awesome. Chris in particular talks through his creative process with you inspiring you to make great things. This place is good for people new to clay and people who want a place to experiment and hone skills.

I have been a member of the Clay CoOp for over a year and have loved every second of it. The studio is extremely clean and organized. There are frequent bisque and cone 6 firings. The group of artists who are actual members of the studio are wonderful people... always respectful of one anothers space, excited to share techniques/ give feedback on one anothers work, and dedicated to ceramic arts as more than just a hobby but rather an important part of their lives. The overall level of artistry is very high and each artist brings a unique perspective to the studio. The classroom side where weekly classes are held is a newer aspect to the studio which has proven to be very successful. Students who have never thrown on the wheel before improve immensely over the span of their class session. Open Studio time allows these students to come in and practice on their own if they decide to. The environment is very welcoming and fun.The studio director is extremely knowledgeable in clay, glaze, firings, technique, etc. He is ALWAYS willing to help the artists of the studio to reach their creative goals, whatever they may be, and is a very trustworthy person.Lastly, as a young woman, I think it is important to say that the studio is a safe space to work in. I have never felt threatened while working in the studio alone or with other people. There are locks on the front and back doors that only studio members and students have access to opening. The Clay CoOp is a very special place I hold close to my heart! I have nothing but good things to say!

This is an amazing place. Space for artists to work with a classroom next door for other people to learn. Exhibits that simulate the soul.
