This is a beautiful right in the middle of the city. Easily accessible through public transport. You can view the falls from the bridge. There is also a Genesee museum/bar at the end of the bridge. The falls is lit in the night with different colors. Thats a pretty view.Might not be an amazing falls but it is definitely worth visiting if you are near by.

Beautiful and the waterfall is just as spectacular as the ones at Niagara Falls. Best views see from the viewing area up the tiny path. Youll even experience slight spray from the waterfall, which is refreshing on a hot day.

Impressive falls with a really nice view from Pont Renne. The trail is also cool since it gives the history of how multiple businesses used the power from Genessee River to their advantage including the forge. The Race where they harnessed the dead drop from the top of the falls was also interesting. Would definitely walk around to look at the different parts of the trail to get a sense of the history surrounding the falls. Parking deck on ther outside of this historic area or on street parking is available.

Its rochester. Many things apply from that short blanket statement. Although on our trip we saw a couple of used needles and empty beer bottles, the falls were nice to look at and the history was fun to learn about. I give it a full five just because the old forges are awesome. Even if one of them is completely blocked off

Its a pretty way to view the waterfall, but the majority of the park encompasses just a single span bridge. Would be awesome if people were allowed to venture into the gorge, but I suppose when the location floods in high rain, that could be an issue. Definitely something to see, its right downtown.

Its not everyday you see waterfalls in the middle of a city setting. Usually you find them in out of the way natural locations. To see one in the middle of a city setting next to an abandoned building, flowing under a railroad track and past an 858 long and 114 high pedestrian foot bridge (Pont Dr Rennes bridge). The bridge is quite high, so it can be scary for those afraid of heights (like me). The east bank viewing platform at the High Falls Terrace Parks gives you a close and fantastic view of the powerful 96 fall. Another fantastic view is from the rooftop of the Genesee Brew House opposite the falls. You can see the rock formations made up of shale, limestone, sandstone and iron ore. The falls are part if the Genesee River which flows thru Rochester, a city on the mend and recovering after Kodak filed for bankruptcy and Xerox left downtown Rochester. I did not stick around till dark to see if the falls were lit at night. Suggest stay at the local Hyatt in downtown Rochester not only to visit the falls, but to take in the local sites such as the Rochester Museum and Science Center which has a planetarium, and the Strong Museum of play.

High Falls is beautiful and pretty darn amazing to witness. A good sized waterfall in the center of a major city in and of itself is quite amazing. A safe and (relatively) clean area thats easily accessible is also great. The High Falls area is deep in local history, if you are unaware of it do yourself a favor and Google it, very cool. Of, and the Genesee brewery and Tap room are right there.

Lovely walking area. Great place to sit and fall in love. The falls lit up at night are mesmerizing. My sweetheart took me here often in our first summer together-- wed ride through the city after dark on our bikes, and then stroll hand in hand along the bridge looking at the colors change in the mist. Wed always stay up way too late, not wanting the magic to end. I really love it when a train goes by, and the moon is rising over the cityscape behind the water. You wonder at all the lives that pass behind the dark windows in the buildings, and if any of them are looking back out at you, and the moon and the water. Or as I accidently put in one night when I was very sleepy, with my head resting on his shoulder but the night was too beautiful to pull ourselves away -- I love when the water-light on moon-falls.

This beautiful park could serve you for a long walk or a short, scenic stroll. The waterfalls (and old entrance tunnel) up front are beautiful and scenic. There are enough trails looping through the area to keep you busy for quite a while. They could use one or two more you are here signs inside the park itself, which can get confusing, but its all good. The trails can get a little muddle, so wear hiking shoes. Also, the parking gets a bit tight over on the route 441 side, so you might want to enter off of Old Penfield Road (other side from 441). Overall, this is a beautiful place and you will enjoy it.

This gorgeous waterfall located in downtown Rochester and situated right next to train tracks is best viewed from the Pont de Rennes Bridge, a pedestrian only vantage point that allows you to take in this natural wonder. There are benches along the bridge to stop and take in the scenery and a nearby park and restaurants in case you need a lunch or dinner option. If you come in the late afternoon, as we did, the chances are good you may see a rainbow in the falls, which makes for excellent photo opportunities. Definitely a good date spot.
