Great Friday night at the Drive-in! Looking forward to seeing more movies...
Really good local history museum and resource center. They also have information on tours outings in and around the county a few times per month to go the eagle center in Winona, or to a nearby regional or state park to learn some skill, or something like that. They have databases and historical documents for family history research. I plan to join as a member, actually, and look forward to returning often in the spring and summer to see some of the living history activities, including a baseball diamond where they play baseball the rules in use in the 1920s.
Very nice group of people and participants at Winterfest! The bobsled ride was relaxing and brought back fond memories! A fun and relaxing event!
Great blurb about the african American history. Information that was very enlightening. Not a large display, but very good information.
Just a fantastic place to visit! Highlights for us included the research center and the old schoolhouse. The featured exhibition when we were there was about the Green Book and the travel experiences of African Americans during the early part of the 20th century. Rochesters landmark Avalon Hotel was featured, which has a rich historical context. The staff were very helpful, courteous, and friendly. When visiting or driving through Rochester, plan on spending a few hours here!
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Good parking and fees for copies are very fair. Comfortable and large tables to work on research. Everything is within reach and well organized.
Love the events. Not a whole lot for daily visits but Ive never regretted going to the events. Days of yesteryear is my favorite.

We saw a 1860s baseball game. It was great! We didnt visit the museum building but we still had a great time.
I took a 1860 Platt map to find my ancestors original farmsteads the young lady who helped me was knowledgeable and was able to help me find the roads that exist today with those that matched the roads that may have been there during that time period I really wished I had gotten her name she led me straight to where I needed to go I found the original spots with no problem thank you for the service you provided to me
I went to see the Downtown Abbey Exhibit. Also watched a video about Mayo Brothers.

The nursing exhibition that is now showing is amazing. The speaker Sat was excellent for giving the history of the Japanese people. Mayo School of Nursing played a wonderful part of this history.
Great place to play Pokemon go
Go every year to be part of the living history weekend. It is wonderful and informative, this year was the siege of Vicksburg. Great for live learning.
Wonderful staff, nice history tour starting here, and finishing at Dr. Charles Mayos home, outside of Rochester, Minnesota. Lovely home, filled with family memories.
