Absolutely love this place. Its in an old fireman house. You can take classes to learn how to letter press if you would like. We had our wedding invites printed there and they came out amazingly.

Ive been a studio artist at the FCAC for about 3 years. The facility is pretty good though some of the equipment should have been replaced years ago. The other artists are nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, management is very customer unfriendly. Lately the attitude has been my way or the highway. Membership seems to have taken a nosedive as a result. Im looking at other options and I dont think that Im the only one.

This is a great old building on Monroe Avenue where various events are held in their nice public areas. Also, it looks like they have community photographic facilities and many other activities. Lovely building!

This is the best place ever! I have learned so much about photography at this center. I have taken both digital and film/darkroom classes and have enjoyed both. Currently taking film class with Mark Watts a most patient and detailed instructor! Looking forward to more learning experiences at this wonderful center.

This is a boon for the local community. There are three parts, the pottery, the photography studio and the printing and book arts studio. All three have classes, or you can rent space from them with the proper membership. There are workshops offered though out the year. Make sure to get on both their mailing list and their e-mail list to find out what is coming up.

Tried a pottery class recently, the instructor kept saying its hard to explain, you just have to feel it. We missed the second class and the instructor was not at the third one. Apparently we hadnt missed anything? I wasnt interested in making the same bowl a third time, and my husband was having trouble getting even one out. No help at all from the backup instructor so we left and havent been back. Expensive lesson learned! Disappointing as I was really excited for this class...

I paid for a beginner pottery class (not cheap). I was disappointed in the lack of instructions given to the students.

Fantastic spot for a diverse group of artists. They offer classes in darkroom photography, book arts, pottery, and printmaking. They often have weekend open houses where art is for sale and they do demos - and you can try things out for yourself.

Currently taking an intermediate wheel pottery class. Ive taken many classes at multiple studios outside of Rochester. I was very surprised that this studio does not supply any tools. The class fee is more than other studios and it doesnt include clay either. Its also disappointing that you do not get your own shelf to keep your stuff like Im accustom to. I havent started glazing yet but the glazing selection does look good and I like that they have a gas klin. Doesnt seem like they have a soda klin. In other studios, towels were provided and washed for the students and the floors were also mopped by the staff and not the students. Open studio are are less and mostly only during times that most people work. Ive also been accustomed fee firing of as many pieces as I can produce during the class time. Here it maxes out. Overall so far it seems like the few things the studio does supply there are not enough of. Im not exactly sure what the class fee is going towards.

We are so fortunate to have this gem in our city. Megan is incredible and Susan is such a fun teacher in Book Arts. This is a great place to go have an enjoyable time and really learn the details of a craft.
