I love shopping anything fish here. Their selection of fish, corals, fish food or anything fish related is always great. The staff is always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Decent selection although their live rock is pretty limited at this time (fair amount of manufactured rock though). Fish and tanks generally appear healthy. Hardware selection is a bit less than it used to be but that makes sense with more people purchasing online.

I had been searching for a mcoskers wrasse for a while and decided to order one with the store, i got an absolutely stunning male mcoskers wrasse at a very good price! Amazing experience. Just starting out reefing though its a Nano (13.5) have been great in helping me understand the chemistry. Have yet to buy any corals from them but already have some ideas..looking forward to giving them my buisness. The owners are great and dont talk down to customers as I have experienced at other shops (freshwater). Overall the past 2 visit have been great. Already excited for our next visit as we wont be leaving without a coral.

Just moved to Rochester and I must say this place looks great. The tanks are well maintained which means everything is healthy and their prices beat everyone elses. Plus the people are super friendly.

I havent had a saltwater tank in about 10 years I finally decided to go back. Walked back into Caribbean Forest and know I made the right choice. I love that place I recommend it to everyone.

This place is amazing! They helped me out with some springtails for my crested gecko’s bioactive enclosure and I found some amazing cork bark to add to it. Very supportive of bioactive setups for their animals. Excellent husbandry. I’ll be coming back here for some new plants and accessories!

Beautiful salt water and coral aquariums! All kinds of tropical fish. Eye candy! Loved to take my kids here for them to see the fish and then I would buy them a seashell. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will share facts about the fish which makes it educational. I myself would love to have a saltwater tank but dont have time to maintain. If I did this would be where I would go.

Went into Caribbean Forest last week looking for pods and came home with so much more. Picked up spare parts, pods, a new copper band and some awesome knowledge. When I asked about the copperband I had them feed it because they are notoriously picky. Staff came right over and fed it and talked with me about it. I will be taking the hour and a half drive more frequently.

Caribbean forest has been in business for 20+ years. They have the best selection of fish and hard goods in the Rochester area. I purchased my first tank set up from them 14 years ago when I got into the hobby. The staff is friendly and full of knowledge. You cant go wrong checking them out.

I just love it here. The experience you get with customer service is not like other stores. Not bashing other stores but here at Caribbean Forest when you walk into the store you are just in wow with everything... The employees are all extremely helpful, knowledgable and they all make the environment very homey. Any question you could have they have a answer ready to make you feel more comfortable to be in the saltwater hobby. I before coming here never wanted to do salt or reef tanks cause of the nightmare stories In the past Ive heard. Well lucky for me I actually want to do the hobby cause of the experience I gotten from coming into the store. If I could bring everyone in the world here I definitely would cause its just a one in a life time experience you cant miss out on.

A very good selection of interesting fish. The staples of the industry, but also usually some different and rarer fish as well. Coral selection is generally fairly poor or overpriced, not to mention presented very awkwardly. Great dry good selection.

Went to a bunch of Rochester shops this weekend, This was the only one I felt pressured to buy. The owner would not stop following us around and was kind of creepy. Prices where the highest in the area and quality wasnt that good. Seen a few dead fish in the tanks, and dead corals as well.EDIT in response to owner: def saw 3-4 dead fish in the tanks, not that big of a deal just figured you should know, if you where not there, how would you know?They do how ever have the best selection of dry goods in the area

I am new to the hobby and even after a great deal of research and reading was uncertain as to the type of tank I would invest in. I have a microbiology and chemistry background so with the extent of reading I did in preparation of this new hobby and my enthusiasm for it I probably had the makings of a potentially annoying new client. Having said that, I visited several local shops with questions and looking for guidance to ensure that whatever I did would be correct and become a healthy suitable home for our new fish. After one conversation with Jason at Caribbean Forest I knew I found my local shop. Despite being very busy he was never in a rush to answer my many questions with great information and a genuine enthusiasm for the well-being and esthetic of the environment I had in mind to create. Never have I felt I was being sold, upsold, or as a true novice, that my need for some hand-holding was a nuisance. I am a business owner and appreciate the GREAT difference between cost and value, as such I am quick to recognize that difference and can be difficult to please. Caribbean Forest is pure value. Happily enough theyre prices were on par with what I observed elsewhere but that was not my primary concern. From initial decision making to in-home set-up and service to cycling the tank and getting it stocked Jason has not only made the exercise successful but has added a great value, energy and confidence to the experience. If your reading reviews your probably shopping for a store, do yourself a favor and start here!

Milly Is a wonderful person, and runs a very honest, and friendly business!

We started out with a 125 gallon tank which we got about 75% of our stuff through Caribbean Forest. we got a coraline beauty that had a few spots on it and was told it was fine and was normal for them to have it. I took Millies word on it since I felt she knew better than me. However two weeks later we lost every fish in our tank due to ick. Finally after rebuliding up the tank and clearing it af anything bad we got more fish, increased the size to 180 gallon had healthy fish for years then decided to get a christmas gift for my husband and ordered a blonde naso tang. When i went to pick it up it looked very stressed and i again questioned it due to our last experience and was told not only by Milly but by another employee that blotches on the blonde naso tang is normal cause they are going through adolesent stage and it will go away. Well the blonde naso didnt make it past two weeks and even didnt make it to christmas and now our 5-6 inch unicorn tang that we had for 5yrs along with our two clowns and dotty back are just about on their death bed due to the ick and desease that the blonde naso tang brought into our tank. Im not putting all the blame on them we should have quaranteed him longer but our concerns were pushed aside so that the sale could be made and taking the words of who should be professionals we put him in the tank only to possibly lose all of our fish yet once again by a puchase made at Caribbean forest. Well i can honestly say that will be the last 58 bucks they will every get from me. Since then we have been to the reef shop and house of corals and would highly recommend them. they hold their fish after getting them before selling them too customers to make sure they are healthy they arent just out to make a sale but actually want people to enjoy their puchase and come back for more.
