Mavis Stouffer Park

This is such a beautiful park. Just minutes away from the 99. We were in the area all the way down at the end of the road. Huge open grass areas. Sandy volleyball courts with nets set up. A big gazebo. The bathrooms were closed. Possibly due to COVID. Parking can get packed depending on the day u go so I suggest to go early if possible. We went on Labor Day so it was packed. Easy access to the park from parking lot.We were mainly there for the river. Stanislaus River runs right alongside it. Entrance to the river may be a bit tricky. Also going up n down to the river can be tricky, bt we managed. Theres a cliff up the way that some of us went jumping off of into the river. But be careful.. u have to make sure to jump into the deep end. We ended our day playing relay race with the kids n took a big family pic with a pretty scenic background. It was my first time there so I didnt get to scope out the entire park, bt some of the reviews tells me theres more to offer. We had such a great time here. Well be coming here more often now.

This is a very nice park with a lot of room for all kinds of outdoor activites.

I love how beautiful and green it is. So spacious and many seating areas. Beautiful gazebo you can rent out, a park, volleyball courts. My favorite is the butterfly garden. Its next to water and its so much fun to swim in

Pretty clean, lots of people floating on inner tubes and kids playing in the water. No signs of homeless camps. The rivers pretty low so I didnt get any bites while fishing, but Ill be back.

Stouffer Park has a nice play area for the kids. There are large grass areas to hang out or picnic. It has a beautiful river that’s surrounded with a small forest of trees. It has a large gazebo and a volleyball net in the lower grass area. The running river is breath taking to see. There are also bathrooms.

Beautiful large park with a river out back! It was kind of tricky to find how to get to the river. I had to ask people. Follow the gate all the way down to your right and you will see a gate on your left that opens to the river. Its about 5min to walk there from the parking lot. 4 stars because there is no safe way to actually get down and up the hill. If you have any existing problems and have a hard time walking...dont bother because you will probably slip and get hurt. We had to have strangers help us to get back up the hill because we were slipping. Other than that its nice and shallow overall and there is a rope for the dare devils that enjoy swinging into the water! And you saw many using it as a lazy river. Great stuff!

Its BEAUTIFUL, great place for a picnic, bbq, walk along the river and just added to the park is a beautiful butterfly garden!

A very quiet and Serene place just the ideal place to go for long walks

My friend lived right off of this park for years. The trails are beautiful. The park large and clean and the river refreshing.Stop by and enjoy the fine weather.

If you like sunny grass its OK. Couldnt find a way to get to the river. The only part we saw was a steep muddy area and it was packed with people.

My husbands grandsons first Birthday was celebrated here! Nice, clean park. Very family oriented which I love! Gotta say I had a great time.

I was given citation just because of doing BBQ. There is no sign where to say that BBQ is not allowed. But they just gave it to me. I asked the office to please show me in one place where it says that BBQ is not allowed. He couldnt. Just said I have to gave you citation because its a mandate.It made me very sad because it was my daughters Birthday and she was crying so hard while the officer was writing the citation for no reason. It just took away my daughter happiness.

Great park for events but there is not a lot of play structures and the ones that are there are in direct sun. But they have. Ton of other stuff there.

I like to stop here for water and bathroom break while in long bike rides. 50+ milesNice shade

Down the far end is the beginning of Stanislaus River Trail. Great trail to start Mountain bike training. Rougher at the other end. It is straight forward in-between.

The awesomest park in California! It simply doesnt get any better! Pristine grass, sand volleyball courts, babbling river you can jump in to cool down. My favorite place in the Central Valley!

First time here and a i gotta say its a verry peacefull park. Well at least on the day i went it was nice calm it has all the aspects of a regular park people playing kids practicing dogs being walked and i love the voleyball courts its nice.

Nice big park with lots of shaded trails. Only bad part is bugs in the grass/weeds will bite your lower legs

Super cute park. There is a building that can be rented as a venue, very reasonable price and probably good for up to maybe 60 people. River isnt anything special in this area.

Clean and great place to have a picnic or small gathering.

Lots of shade and picnic tables here, as well as wide open spaces. The area down by the river can sometimes be flooded when the river is high, but generally is a great place to visit and be with family and friends. Well maintained and clean!

The park is pretty nice. Theres an open. Space where you can soak up some sun and a baseball diamond. If you go down a small hill there are more pucknicn tables and another smaller clearing with lots of trees for shade if you need to a paid the sun. Good for gatherings of all sizes

Nice park . We train for soccer there but we pay for access and lights when winter comes around . You even have to get a permit to BBQ or use their grounds. Its nice with good shade trees and you even can access the river for fishing. Good safe place with bathrooms in a nice neighborhood. 3

It is a great parj for biking hiking kids tots and teens. It has many great views of the river and is great for photo shoots. I love the park, its a priceless place of memorys no one could take away

Very spacious & clean.

Love this park! Come often for horse shoes and bocce ball. Weve had lots and lots of parties and church picnics here over the years and its always a great time.

Great place to bring your kiddos of all ages. Volleyball area, baseball diamond, playground areas, restrooms, and a great area for outdoor pictures. Dont forget your bug repellent when sun starts coming down.

Very nice park for events but bathrooms were so far away for guest needed at least porta potties

My wife loves coming here to walk and play pokemon go. Also a great place to swim during the summer time

What a beautiful park. Perfect for picnics or letting the kids run off some energy. I love the big trees! Just be sure you wear mosquito repellent because sometimes they can be kind of bad sometimes.

I come here once a year for a youth event and its great. We have a volleyball tournament and theres still plenty of space for the kids to play soccer and/or other parties. Theres a river too which is great but the water is freezing. Overall a great place.

Always clean. I like to take pictures of my niece and nephew there as the is a lot of good scenery there.

Great food, great service, great surroundings

Very randomly shaped/organized park. There are random fields behind random patches of trees which are not very well kept either. Certain paths pass directly through what I would call swamps with malaria/dengue written all over them. There were also portions that were flooded from the nearby river and were closed off. The trees do provide good shade and there is adequate parking.

Great place to swim for the day. Nice water a lot of trees for shade and a playground. Good walk to the. Water though. If you bring an ice chest, make sure it has wheels. I learned the hard way.
