Ive lived around the world, and this museum has to be one of my favorites! Its literally got a little bit of everything - and a heck of a lot to see! They do a spectacular job with the displays, and theres everything from Samurai swords, to a plane, to a mummy, to one of a kind cars, items etc etc...Handicap accessible, and youll need about 2 hours. Get there as fast as you can and thank me later!

My daughter and 4 grandchildren went to the museum today after a Grandparents Day lunch. Sydney, our hostess and all the volunteers and staff maintain a very special place and should be commended! Halloween decorations and activities are in place and enhanced the fun. Wayne County should be proud.

Absolutely Visit! Our family has visited hundreds of museums and we have never encountered a county museum that is absolutely filled with such a global variety of historical items. Wow! It was wonderful. The kids will love it! At least two hours, possibly more if you love history like we do. When you drive through Richmond as much as we do, its wonderful knowing 40+ millionaire families are the roots of the city. The staff are wonderful, very informative. Cant wait to take our grandparents next time.

This is one of the best county museums that I have visited around the country. The museum has nice displays not just artifacts and stories. There is also a small pioneer village outside. I loved to see the old cars included here also. The city street display was amazing and a bonus. The displays here represent a part of American history not just Wayne County. Thanks for maintaining such a wonderful museum.

It had a lot of good information and old historical items. Good things to do. I wish they made the signs more noticeable. I only noticed a sign that said dont touch the exhibit after I touched it. I think it is pretty great except for my lack of seeing the signs. He he.

The museum is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. It was really cool learning about what Wayne County is proud of about their history. We enjoyed the out buildings and it gave us a look as to how people once lived.

I grew up in Richmond, so Ive been here several times. I love this museum! Its got everything from a one room school house to an Egyptian mummy! It has several outdoor buildings like an old-fashioned newspaper and log cabin. The Egyptian display is very well done, for a small town its an absolutely fantastic museum!

Boy is this place a gem! The incredibly rich history of Richmond, Indiana is on display in this quaint, quirky little museum that will entrance you for hours. From actual Egyptian mummies to antique autos built in Richmond in the early 1900s, there is something here for everyone. The early industrialists built many empires here, from Wayne school buses, to the first steam engine farm equipment, to the first lawnmowers. Fascinating!!!

Wedding Reception for 300 guests (August 29, 2015)Jim Harlan, their staff and volunteers made for a perfect wedding reception for our Daughter and her newlywed Husband and 300 guests. They kept the entire museum open during the festivities and we had a large number of compliments from our guests, both local and out of state, about how much they enjoyed the Museum and grounds both before and after the wedding party arrived. It was the perfect venue with air conditioned areas for those who wanted to get out of the heat and a rented 30 x 30 framed tent in the courtyard drive for dancing the evening away. If we had it to do all over again--we wouldnt change a thing. Wonderful people, stayed and supported throughout the entire event, and a beautiful and historic venue ... what more would anyone want,

This is a secret treasure that we found when travelling from Columbus to Indy. Take a few minutes to stop in and view the museum. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The artifacts are cool - including a mummy and a bunch of classic cars. Takes you about 5 minutes off the highway and is well worth it.

Outside buildings of antique cars, farm implements, carriage house, pioneer log cabin, bakery, printing shop etc. The main house (150 yrs old) has a basement of civil war memorabilia, cobbler shop, film history and so much more. The main floor is full of pre historic artifacts including mastidon tooth, arrowheads etc. Of special interest is the mummy and his x-rayd image. The best museum...well worth the $7.00 admission charge and reasonable gift shop (donated antique glassware etc for sale to support further museum finds). A must see in Richmond IN.

It was ok. The lighting is extremely poor, it definitively needed an upgrade on the lighting. The exhibits were interesting and well kept. The staff was pleasant. The facility and grounds were clean and well kept. The only complaint was the very poor lighting. The Groupon was the main motivator, I wouldnt feel the need to go back.
