Great little venue for local bands. Decent beer list for a place its size and mixed drinks as well. My only complaint is about the restrooms: theres only two of them and theyre unisex so theres always a line. Nothing significant and you shouldnt let that stop you from visiting. Just be aware. They took over a firehouse (which is kinda cool in and of itself) and turned it into what it is today
Beautiful space and atmosphere!
Art shows, concerts (even dance parties), and a bar. Pretty welcoming place. Although I dont know what happened to the second floor...it just isnt there anymore.
Great art studio. Wonderful place to see performances and live music.
Always fun to see a show there. Parking isnt that bad if there arent too many events going on in the same area. Burlesque shows are on the calendar often and a lot of fun.
Easy going venue. Very nice, laid-back, and helpful staff. Great drink prices.
Good art space, but also perhaps more notably an important up and coming music venue in the city with decent sound but a great atmosphere. Just wish it was a little bigger to accommodate more of a crowd comfortably for larger shows, but thats no fault of the venue itself.
Good place to see a show. $3 Hamm’s. Fun to go to on First Fridays as well.
Have a great time at game nights. Very friendly and welcoming.
The space is a little small so it made seating hard. The floor is brick so wear some comfortable shoes. Bar was nice for how small it was.
Cool place. Went to see a show and had a great time!
The venue is an amazing spots for live music. The drinks are plentiful and the people are nice. The upstairs has an Art Exhibit that rotates pretty regularly. The only reason I did not give it 5 Stars was thats the night of my most recent visit, the band was way too loud and not good. They normally do have talented acts.
One of the best places to catch a show.
Some of the best alternative and creative shows in Richmond are here. Its great for that. Two stars removed for two seperate occasions not letting me bring tea in. I am struggling to kick alcohol consumption and decaf tea is a good alternative. You dont have to lie to me and tell me tea is against ABC laws, come on buddy... It would be better to just sell me tea or present an alternative rather than a bad excuse, quit your rabble rousing for alcohol sales.
Awesome venues, good music, depending on what youre into, but it was pretty amazing. Really enjoyed my night out here, and I highly recommend this spot.
A beautiful safe space for art!
Very eclectic space. I was here for the Pyro Circus this year and had an amazing time. There were vendors and artists with booths upstairs and a concert with a full on bar downstairs. I sipped on ginger drinks and danced all night.
Richmond staple! Great music. One of the best First Friday spots.
They put on an excellent show
Great venue for more intimate shows
This gallery in the pulse of the Richmond eclectic art scene!
Wow. Such a cute quaint space. I came to see Elvis Depressedly and was impressed. I thought there were too many sound checks and audio guy needed to be fired for not doing these earlier. The sound in the small space was very good quality. So I guess the audio guy has nine lives. It could improve by being more organized then again I agree this is a micro venue so the experience level of a worker might not have followed Aerosmith
Great venue for all gamers on Wednesday nights cool crowd of ppl with all kinds of games to play.
Cant give an impartial review. While waiting for a show I became extremely ill. Staff wouldnt/couldnt let me inside to use the restroom. Ended up in the ER instead of seeing the show.
Great place to see shows. Always have a decent selection of beers and other alcohol. 10/10 experience
Saw Molly Burch, Good venue!
Solid venue, super excited for all of the upgrades.
A great blend for my first show ... Great time!
Of the events I went to, I was able to enjoy myself. Drinks are a little pricey, but what bar doesnt? Depending on the show, sitting is provided. The go-to spot for most Fridays.
This is what we can do when Richmonders associate and incorporate. Good job, buds.
This venue is nothing like any other in the city. Local art are constantly showcased each week. Come and enjoy the creative arts while listening to the live band and adult beverages. Theres always something fun and new to see every week. Come support the locals
Don’t drop a human baby off at the front door cause that ain’t a fire station, there are no dalmatians and they never sell tickets in advance
One of the best venues in town! Support the arts.
Great venue! Great art!
Great atmosphere, drinks and dancing
Always a great show.
One of the best place I have been at Richmond, thanks to Judy for bringing me here.
Cool place, love the vibe and nice staff! Saw a great show there!
Everyone really needs to support Gallery 5. They are a nonprofit that brings in great shows and gives back to the community as well.
Local Non-profit venue for music, art, dance, public forum, and a weekly game night! 13 years running and still going strong. Located in a former fire house in historic Jacson Ward!
Great location to support the arts. If you havent been, you have to come to a show or event.
Its a smaller venue but has a ton of character and a decent beer selection most the time. They also tend to host more obscure artists and performers so keep up with their events. Also, they usually have great art and put on a cool show for first fridays.
I have been coming to Gallery 5 for over 6 years. It is a great little venue thats has multiple uses. While its focus is music it also host one of the the more prominent local galleries. First Friday at Gallery 5 is one of those Summer things to put on your To Do List.
As Richmonds leading gallery in alternative creativity, Gallery5 carries their mission with tact and an embrace of the community. I am grateful to be able to experience the clever use of an outdated public service facility.
Cool room, wonderful bartender and sound guy. But the promoter and management lacked communication and didnt seem to care about our show. Good place to check out for exhibits and shows though!
Jackson WardFirehouse of history
Fun place to visit
Always a unique concert experience!
Great venue
Really fun place, friendly staff, cool building
Depending on the event, it can be amazing with a great atmosphere, or very awkward. Everytime Ive been, theres been at least two events going on, like an art exhibit and a musical performance that nnever really seem to work well together. Like a clown showing up at a playground unannounced. Yes, theyre technically intended for the same demographic... But its still a little off putting.
Hard to navigate when crowded. Not impressed at all. Crew is usually very good though. Just not a comfortable place. Poke your head in but keep going.
It is a converted firehouse. They serve beer and drinks. Anyone can get in, but you get Xs on your hands if you are not 21. It is a great place great music fun seen.
Great variety of entertainment.....nice atmosphere!
Unique shows great selection
Great for live music, burlesque shows, and amazing local art.
I need to go here more often. I took my daughter here for a Krampusnacht show and was very pleased with the people.
Art, Beer, music, and more, all in an old firehouse. First Fridays are a good time to swing by.
A place for everyone
Best diy space in Richmond
Cool place. Beer could be colder.
Good atmosphere
They should do this fire thing more often
Great shows and gallery! Always a good time here.
Its my home away from home!
