Very educational. We had a private tour of the sight with a retired petty officer of the navy. He told us all about how they retire nuclear subs. The sail of the retired Triton sub is physically there at the park,as well as informational displays about the Triton nuclear sub which has been decomitioned from service.

Its only open for tours during special events, however it is right next to a really steep hill on the bike path... And a supposedly crazy radioactive building. Dont hop that fence!

A strange and interesting bit of naval history hidden in Richland. No one would except any part of a submarine in the middle of an arid desert but here it is.

Fun little park to learn some quick history about submarines and to see a con tower. I heard that you can get inside it from time to time but for the most part its really quick stop. No water to place to sit no facilities. So... yeah the novelty wears of quick and then you leave. Most fun as a turnaround spot for a nice run or bike ride.

While this is a small park it is more of a memorial. Every submarine had a different mission and there are several of these around the country each with a different significance. This one is particularly unique and is was the only submarine of this type and its location is near the area where the reactor compartments are removed from the barge and sent to their final resting place. Its also located near the campuses of some of the finest research laboratories in the country.Below along the river is a gazebo with a table for a quick bite or just to look out over the river. Its a pleasant walk from WSU Tri-Cities to here.

I full blown sub sail. Its an awesome sight to see, great starting, halfway point out finishing spot for a walk, run or bike ride. The Port of Benton even sets up tours of the inside. Go check it out. It is a piece of history for sure, being from the submarine that followed Magellans route submerged.

Very interesting but not much to see. The history of the sub is layed out very well on the information boards. Its parked near a very large launch ramp that was used for secret launchings on the Columbia of other vessels, but you have to dig for that info.
