Preserved nature area close to the city. Shared with an area set aside for archery. Popular place for horse riding as its near a boarding area but there are lots of trails are plenty of places to get out of the way. Trail through the park connects to others going all around the town. There is no play ground or grassy area. It is a natural area along the Yakima River.

I was sitting in my car looking for birds when a couple of house finches came to a lavender bush that was less than 6 feet from my car. I was really really quiet and eventually there were eight of the finches on the lavender bush. I know they are common, but its pretty cool to see that many of them on a bush so close to me.

Nice park for walking but theres lots of horse traffic kicking up dust. Trails can be quite sandy in spots. Lots of birds and butterflies to observe.

Very rustic river path; wide enough for mountain bikes and bird watchers!

We really looked forward to walking today. Only to read the signs when we got here. You have to be a club member to walk these trails.

Very well preserved. A forest in the city. Approach from Van Giesen, at Woods...more parking.

Spent my childhood down here. Chasing rabbits, catching snakes. Natures getting choked out here in the tri cities, weird to see this place surrounded by condos and modular homes. But still a nice walk I guess... Nostalgia is rough...

I used to tear this up with my dirt bike as a kid. Also rode horses here. The parking area was a city dump in the 1970s.
