Its a splendid, colorful bridge that lights up ones mood from the bright green & red lights dancing about! During our 2nd visit, we even ventured underneath this magnificent bridge & enjoyed the water reflection very much! Light show is a bit pricey for the 45 minute walk...creative & well decorated, it lacked a live performance! Still worth our trip from the bay area for a nice change of scenery. Friendly people :)

If you’re in Redding you have to check out the sundial bridge. A nice place to walk around, enjoy the Sacramento River. There is a coffee shop/gift shop, and a museum and park that is great for kids. Just a nice place to walk around the river.

This is a beautiful, natural setting with a unique bridge offering views of the Sacramento River. At certain times of the year the river is full of steelhead which can be seen from the bridge. There are walking paths along the river, a botanical garden and shady picnic areas. I dont advise visiting in midsummer unless you really like heat, it gets very hot there.

We went to the Redding garden of lights located here at turtle bay. It was a wonderful experience that we will always remember. It was a bit crowded so I would suggest purchasing tickets in advance as well as showing up a little early to make sure you are able to check in on time. All and all a great time.

As cycling tourist, we rode from Sundial Bridge to Shasta Dam Visitors Center. There is the nice and easy river belt ride, and there is the tougher climbs in the middle section and up to the top of the dam. My daughter, a tough 9 year old road cyclist, struggled at times, including the final climb. The reward, as usual, was worth the effort. The lower river belt ride is very nice for the typical family ride.

My road trip from San Jose to Burney Falls on 6/15/20 was so exciting. My first stopped was Duck Lake. It is nice garden and a lot more to see over there, but the highlight of the park right now is lotuses blooming. There was a lot of folks standing by the lake, trying to take the best pictures of lotuses, and some just enjoyed them.My second stopped was Sundial Bridge. It is the heart of Redding. It is free to the public.Sundial Bridge is very unique and interesting bridge.Definitely worth to stop if you’re driving along highway 5.The good thing is Sundial Bridge only 1.5 miles away from freeway entrance and exit. The walk from parking lot to sundial bridge is short walk.It has bathroom at both ends of the bridge for public use.It is surrounding with river trails.I was able to sit at the river’s edge and enjoyed the beauty of the bridge.it has very nice garden too. This is one of my favor place in Redding.I’m highly recommend this place to anyone who loves outdoors .

What a great stop-over for kids and pets on the road - and their architecture hound parents. The local community has been inspired in making a great destination to stop off - good for an hour, an evening or even a couple of days. Really transformative for a community.

Even though theres a sign at the entrance asking people to wear a mask, 90% of the over 200 people there were not. And one large party of 25 people stood in the center of the bridge taking pictures, blocking the way for others. I left after 15 minutes as I did not feel safe from COVID-19 in that environment.

Thia is a fun family place to spend an afternoon. Plenty of garden trails to stroll down, things for kids to explore and the Sundial Bridge! The science of the bridge is explained through educational plaques and signage, though it remains a mystery. The blue glass bridge deck gives the impression of walking on the clouds.
