An easy going hike, take around 1.5 - 2 hours up and down (with no stopping for lunch or anything).Beautiful views, easily one of the best hikes in the area! I have been at various times in the year, always well maintained and worthwhile.Highly recommend for families, or people who struggle to hike, but still want to get out and do things!

Throw a pack or weight vest on and give it hell. Or take a leisurely stroll with the fam. Perfect for a short and sweet hike either way.

Great trail for our family. I have a 9 year old & a 5 year old and they had a blast. The trail is easy to find and well marked. At the top of Chemise Peak is a shaded picnic table, great spot to view Shata Lake & Dam.

Pretty clear today. Nice breeze. Sunny but not hot. Trail has rocky sections and is powdery due to 30+ days of no rain. Big CalFire crew hiking down. Always a joy.

One of the best quick hikes in the area. Hike up to a little peak maybe 5 miles including both ways I believe. See a neat 360 view of the area including shasta dam. Nice clear trail, no big step ups. My mini aussie loves it. Plenty of parking at trail head.

Last hike in 2019. The trail is short of 5 miles round trip from trailhead to summit. Gradual incline all the way to the top. Its a wide, well groomed trail thats been thinned of brush and snags for better visibility. One of our favorites, will not disappoint

A nice, well-maintained trail, but heavily trafficked, especially during holidays and peak hours. Approximately 5.2 mi round trip from the Flanagan trailhead. Steady incline, but doable for beginners and children.

Short hike/bike if you park at the Flanagan Road trailhead. Other you can make it a longer route from other places. Great down hill on a bike, just be careful of people coming up, very popular trail

Nice hike, mostly a gradual uphill the whole way up to the peak. Starts out in shade and gets exposed toward the top. Great views of the 3 shastas. Try to plan on clear mild day. Nice park bench at top. It can get crowded at times on peak. Cell service the whole way. Seen bikers, dogs and runners. All ages.
