Good views the rest area by the iridium lay wasnt kept very clean and further up the hill there are large pieces of trash like an old seat from a car.

Very cool. Only problem is the sign explaining what the barrier is, is pretty messed due to the elements. City of Raton needs to fix it.

Interesting. Its shown as a trail on Google Maps but its actually at the top if the hill. Very cool.

Driving up the not so great road, you really have no idea what to expect. I love geology however, and when you see the sign Iridium Layer its a bit exciting to realize you are looking at the surface of the earth 65 ish million years ago. Theres not much to see other than the soil and a nice view of Raton, but Im glad I saw it none the less!

Excellent Trail, best in the area! Numerous Ponderosa Pines and no burn damage in this Canyon. Beautiful, well- maintained Trail.
