Super cute and fun! My two year old loved all the beautiful lights and the airplane strip! We went around 6:30 and it was perfect. We got to go around the whole neighborhood a few times.
This was a garbage Christmas light display. I came 15 years ago and it was so much better. Please dont waste your time. Im writing this as Im driving through because my phone is more exciting than these lights and to make sure people dont make the same mistake I did and actually wait in the line. Turn around and drive to sleepy hollow in Torrance or bainbridge in Murrieta. Regular neighborhood lights are better than these. Im absolutely furious that I wasted an entire evening (yes entire evening 5:30-9pm waiting and driving through). Light candles in your living room and watch them flicker because its a better light show then this poor excuse of an attraction.
Every year beautiful peaceful the only place where everyone smiles and says hi and gives each other space to enjoy Merry Christmas EVERYONE
I have been there. I like going and seeing it. It is a fun event
I went a little early this year..as in first week of dec, still rocking and rolling...not every house but most...I would suggest for full experience go after the 15th...
Do not be fooled by hours & reviews. This place is closed #Covid19update
Awesome! Great event for the kids, and entire family
It was much better 1015 years ago but its still a Winter wonderland
The lights were as expected. We come every year and the kids really enjoy the sights. However, this year we came a little early and waited till 5:30 pm as we were told the lights come on at 5:30 pm and some houses were still not on. So if you come early to try to avoid the crazy traffic mess...you may find not all the displays are on. We drove through Thoroughbred at around 5:50 PM and some were still not on. We made it through by 6 PM and the line was already back to 19th street on Sapphire. This was still an enjoyable experience as usual as most displays were on and the friendly neighbors would wave to us as we drove by. If you are thinking about driving by...do it...you will enjoy it especially for the kiddos. If you are thinking about walking the displays...in have read and heard many conflicting statements...some say you can walk M - TH but not on weekends. Not too sure about how true that is. We did witness some walking this time around on Sat but not many...we even say Police turn around some families trying to walk. Truth be told...the experience is much better walking as we have in times past walked the displays...good luck.
Not worth all the hype. We got there early and not even half the neighborhood was lit up. It was better a few years ago.Def will find something else to do next year.
Its difficult to rate this year. The houses always look awesome, however this year the streets are open to vehicle traffic only. The wait on the vehicle line was two hours this year when I went. I can understand that the mix of vehicles and pedestrians presents a safety issue though. I would have rather it be closed to vehicle traffic and open to pedestrians though.
Its our yearly tradition to go there for a walk. Its so much fun, the police and security is amazing, people are so friendly, decorated houses are very well done and creative every year.Very recommended for families and to take your kids out for the night
Nice decorated houses; however, it is no longer the same environment and Christmas spirit as the previous years. Too, it was inconvenient when my sister had to go to the restroom, and cars are not allowed to get out of the line. Officers will only let you go one way in and one way out. Overall, it’s a great neighborhood, nice people, but no longer as fun as it used to be. City over EXAGGERATED restrictions!
Know before you go! The city has heavily restricted what days you are permitted to walk instead of being stuck in your car. Pro Tip...GO EARLY! We walked it yesterday at 5:30 and it was delightful! By the time we left at 7:30, it was a madhouse.
The lights themselves were amazing but the officers set up pretty late and seemed a little disorganized. We waited in line for a half hour and got to the entrance and was turned around because they were setting up late. They tried to send us to the back of the line. If you have the patience its definitely worth it. Its about a 20-30 minute experience.
This was the worst Christmas lights experience ever!!! First of all you are in a horrendous line of cars that DONT MOVE!!!! And theres no way around it because cops are everywhere patrolling the area. Then after eons of waiting we decided to park and walk but after we did we were told theres no walking. Its drive thru only! What???? Wheres the enjoyment in that?? Ive been to plenty of neighborhoods decked out and Ive always been able to walk and enjoy the lights on foot. Its no fun watching them in bumper to bumper traffic. Id rather be on the 405 in rush hour. Nothing is worth that time in those lines. Theyre just Christmas lights!! Save your gas, time and nerves and go somewhere else. Not worth it!!!
It was too packed way too busy to even enjoy. People honking and being rude. Dont want my kids around that. It was better a few years ago. Thanks for the thoughtful time they put.
Christmas 2019 was very bad. I would say 90% of the houses had their lights off even though it was barely 9pm. We waited in line to go into the neighborhood a little over an hour. Ive noticed each year they are less and less great.
It’s unfortunate we can’t walk through here anymore and apparently not on selected days either :/ where’s the fun in that? especially when you have babies/toddlers.. no one wants to be stuck in traffic just to look at lights. Where’s the sense of community, when we were able to walk around and enjoy hot cocoa from the houses? Now it’s so isolating and definitely doesn’t bring out the Christmas spirit especially with it being heavily patrolled by police. If the city/residents don’t want people walking through there perhaps they should invest in trolleys/trams.. I think that would make it a lot more bearable. If not, then I can see this quickly dying out within the next few years. Such a shame we can’t enjoy this holiday tradition with our children like we used to.
Not what I expected. I came here 4 years ago where we were able to walk through the neighborhood probably 2 hours worth of viewing homes. We were able to get hot cocoa and snacks from the owners of homes. Now it’s drive only and they only lead you through one little area. 25 mins tops. Wasn’t worth the drive. Save your gas if you live further out.
The lights themselves were really nice, however the line and wait were horrendous. Best to get there early when it starts. Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic and not enough police to enforce not cutting the line.
Really long lines of traffic. Go earlier(5pm) to avoid the long wait. Beautiful Christmas lights. Worth the wait.
One of the best displays of lights in all of empire. Come check out all these housesIt will make you wow your self
Beautiful! Amazing and hard work these residents do just so the rest of us can enjoy it. Thank you for all that you do!
My family and I came from Redlands to enjoy beautiful lights and came across Thoroughbread. After a long drive, a sign appeared informing us that there was in fact, no lights. Someone should have updated that there would be no lights this tonight. What a disappointment. I am so upset I was looking forward to Christmas photos
Our first time trick or treating and it was amazing. Fun and enjoyable for the whole family
The grandest Christmas light display of them all is found right here in the heart of Rancho Cucamonga. The Thoroughbred Christmas Lights in Rancho Cucamonga, sometimes called “Alta Loma Christmas Lights,” are a long-standing Christmas tradition that has been enjoyed by locals and beyond for over 20 years. The Christmas lights installation in Rancho Cucamonga brings in countless families every single year, and this year should be no exception!
Very festive. Only took 90 minutes to get through.
The Christmas lights are always a sight to see. However, the city is making it difficult as they now require that those visiting the lights must stay in their vehicle. During the peak nights there are no pedestrians allowed. The county Sheriff does a great job of traffic control but it is unfortunate that no pedestrians are allowed to walk the route. The best time to visit is 6:00 pm as many of the lights are on but the traffic is very light at that time.
We went on one of the nights you can walk and loved it! There was a few houses selling food so we got some churros and hot chocolate along our stroll. Weve driven through one year and walked another but I definitely recommend going on a night you can walk through. Just double check the cities website to see what nights those are. Its just such a better experience because you can stop and look at the houses and really just take in the whole experience.
Intense lights but no music. Arrive early!
Not worth the 2 hours in traffic. It needs to be better organized. Not impressed with the decoration, nothing special.
Whem you were able to walk through felt so much more magical. Being im a moving car like disneyland isnt so fun anymore.
Beautiful houses beautiful light displays and by far the best
A lovely neighborhood with friendly people.
Nice decoration. Attractive.
My husband and I drove all the way to the lights only to find out that they are not allowing walking through the lights on certain days! It would of been nice to have this posted on their website! So disappointing.
They do not allow walking this year except for residents. Felt we were rushed through with all the traffic
Awesome! But get there early!!
An hour and 30 min wait. While it was no Dyker Heights, it was a nice treat. There definitely NEEDS to someone at the entrance of the intersection guiding driver in.
Awesome place to look at lights
If you have sone spare time its good to see but it will take you awhile to go the whole tour.
Gone traditionally until this yr,hearing people quit decorating due to rules changing to no more walking, understandable, but does anyone know what days we can walk through, if any? Thanks! Merry Xmas!
This has been an attraction since I can rememberIt it now on Google Maps as a Tourist Attraction
Very short and not as many lights as last year
Very nice Christmas lights
Love it, drove through there twice already and walked once. Theres plenty of lights up and some neighbors sell food too.
Exelent to have good times!
It was alright, but they dont let you walk through the neighborhood. Now until Christmas its just drive by,
Beautiful place
Nice display but windy the night I went...
Not as good as a few years ago
Waiting in car line too long
It is Feb now. There were no Christmas lights. We went to an estate sale.
The wait made the experience not a great one but good light shows
So apparently you can only drive through. Walking is no longer allowed through neighborhoods. Traffic was horrible, it took us about close to an hour and we werent even close to lights. Made U turn and left. Not worth the wait.
Very organized
Always my favorite ! Have been going since I was little!!
Closed. Dont go there are no lights this year
To whom it may concern I travel an hour to view this location base on it being still open like what was posted but 80 percent of the homes with lights are not on so it is not all available to view
Make sure you get there by7 p.m.
Go there when its almost Christmas!!!
Traffic is Horrible here, never made it to the lights we took the freeway back home as soon as we could (which also took for ever because of the horrible traffic) I feel sorry for the people who live around this area.
Worth the drive
Super
Its not as good as it uses to be.
Internet
The city has ruined the experience
Perfect
Beautiful Lights must go early at least a 2hr wait on the weekend..by the time we got to the entrance we only enjoyed half of the lights. Since they close at 11. However, my kids loved this place
Plan to get there early before the line starts.Cute Nightmare Before Christmas, Grinch, Frozen themed homes and other more traditional light decorations. The kids loved it!
