I am sorry to post this as I enjoyed the atmosphere at this winery. However, I must warn others of what i think is either a scam or a poorly run business. After 1 year of paying for a wine membership (which was my obligation) I canceled. I called and spoke to a man who confirmed the cancellation days prior to a future charge. Every quarter since that time, my credit card has been charged. This month was the 3rd time. Even after calls, left voice mails and disputing charges on my credit card, they continue to charge for a wine membership. And they charge your card as an installment plan, making it more difficult for the credit card company to investigate or deny. Be forewarned. Enjoy a glass of wine, the music and art. Dont join the club!
Beautiful art and delicious wine! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a whim and were not disappointed. A must see if you’re nearby! Can’t wait to come back.
Experience: five stars. Wine: three. My boyfriend and I came for sunset and a tasting. Service was excellent. The setting was romantic and interesting with all the art. The cheese plate was delicious. I want to give this place five stars, but a winery with wine that disappoints cant quite pull that off. But if you dont go for the wine, youll have an incredible experience. We will be going back!
This place is beautiful. The artwork is amazing, the scenery is gorgeous and all of that is free. The wine is also very tasty, you wont go wrong there but if you want to just relax and enjoy a beautiful world then this is the place to be.
It made this Puerto Rican girl want to cry! Music and wine was amazing! I felt the spirit of mi papa in the music. What a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. I loved it so much I am booking my upcoming birthday party here. Spectacular personalized secret you must experience this to understand
No information on current hours and no one returns voice mail. Are they still in business??
Loved the wine, pizza, music and art! Has the Valle de Guadalupe vibe on this side of the border!
This winery has great wines with amazing views. The grounds are beautifully covered in art sculptures and very well maintained. They offer a great cheese plate, bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and pizza plates.
I cannot say enough about this place this place is beautiful its amazing its peaceful if you want to enjoy a really good glass of wine this is the place to go to the owner walks around and greets you all the time making sure that your glass is filled with wine very amazing sculptures if you the type of person that likes to go and drink some wine and walk around and see beautiful art sculptures this is the place to go Ive been to several wineries this is the place to go I will be heading back this weekend coming up the music that they have is really good so see you guys there on Sunday my name is Gino and I will be there Sunday
My mother brought me a bottle of wine Temptation Dessert delicious
Nice exhibition of art works. Nice wines. You can have a generous portion of wine a nice cheese plate and relax an enjoy the music.
My wife and myself are members here. Always a great experience when we come here. Very relaxing beautiful scenery. The hostess is the best.
Great place for short weekend trip in San Diego! Beautiful ambiance. Family friendly, live music, surrounded with impressive sculptures...
Used to come all the time and loved the place. After the owner passed away a lot left with him. More focused on style and less substance. Love the sculpture collection but miss the good pizza.
The wine was good with a nice variety for tasting. The art was eclectic and interesting and the view breath taking.
I wish there was a zero star. Absolutely the worst experience and waste of time. Id say dont bother here. Worst customer service and ruined our Valentines Day. First time wine tasting in Ramona and we stopped in. We waited an hour and never got our tasting. The staff looks like they have no idea what they are doing. They ran out of tasting glasses?? You do wine tasting why and on a holiday why dont you stock up. We even asked twice for help- Ill be right over and never did. Once we get up to leave the lady finally ask if wed like to talk to her manager who was sitting down at a table the whole time vs helping. He saw us there for an hour and never offered to help. 2 other couples were waiting too and absolutely no service. 2 parties that arrived after us got served first. Absolutely dont recommend and sad since I heard they were one of the better ones- property is cool though but better wineries to visit than Salerno.. Saw on other reviews that this happens all the time someone waited 2 hours to get an overpriced $19 pizza. Save yourself the frustration..
We became wine club members quarterly and Salerno winery was to send our win by September 20 for our sons surprise engagement party. The wine was not delivered and they charged us for the next quarter and still NO wine! We joined in July and have not see any wine, just charges on out credit card. No one will answer the phone or call back when you leave a message! Not happy!
It sucks when very bad service spoils a great view. The property and art are stunning. The cheese plate was aweful. You pay $15 for a few blocks of cheese, keebler buttery crackers, and some colored syrup. Theres no cutlery so be prepared to eat the cheese off the block. I cant comment on the wine as mine was never delivered. The server said someone else took it. Not a great excuse. Very bummed as I had been looking forward to visiting and becoming a regular. Luckily they arent the only winery in Ramona.
While the lawn art is interesting, the wines are anything but interesting. The service is mediocre at best and the behind the curtain kitchen is atrocious and should be reported to the health department. On occasion previous owner Herman sings opera which is amazing in itself but thats the highlight.
Great wines, easy drinking Sangria and plenty of art pieces to look at. Must stop and try
Great wine and pizza. The art is beautiful!
The winery tragically lost an owner to death recently. The transition is going well with new ownership showing the same love for art and wine together. Stop by and soak up the world class sculpture garden and vineyard.
A spectacular museum inside a Winery. Unique. A must see !!!
The location is magical surrounded by Italian inspired art and views of the valley. The pizza was very good.
Uniquely hidden gem among the local wineries. Hearty reds...the cherry bomb malbec is awesome. Friendly staff.
Beautiful beautiful place!! Love this place, so relaxing!!! Yummy wine, music, and sculptures galore! And bocce!!
I have good experience i have good time that was first time going to that place i well go back soon thanks for the service
Vineyard/exhibition. Come and enjoy nice weather, a stroll among the sculptures and a glass of wine..
I love this place. Delicious wine, freshest food (wood fired bread and pizza), great entertainment, exquisite atmosphere - whats not to love!
Avoid, went on a Saturday afternoon. All they have is an open door drafty barracks. If you know nothing about a wine tasting experience look here to set the bar low.
Im so bummed to be writing this review, but Im terribly disappointed with my recent experiences with Salerno Winery. We have been wine club members with them for nearly 3 years, and have always loved their wines and their lovely winery. However, the owners, Herman and Rose, are no longer managing the winery, and the new management is truly terrible. The wines are not as good, the food is definitely not as good, and the service - OMG it is the absolute worst. We regularly brought our family up to Salerno for pizza and wine and good times, but starting in the summer of 2014, things got weird. We showed up, and no pizza was available, just store-bought salad, bread and lasagna? Weird. And weirder - wouldnt that be a great thing to put on your web site, or maybe tell your wine club members about? Sadly, this strange disconnect of service happened three more times! They got the pizza going, but suddenly didnt allow dogs (again, no notice, although they did send out notice a month AFTER they stopped allowing dogs.) Then we showed up once and the pizza was really awful, and took 40 minutes to get to us. The only good thing that came out of this was that, hungry and irritated and having promised our group a nice time at a winery, we found Cordiano winery reasonably close by and were able to salvage our afternoons.Throughout all of this, we maintained our wine club membership, and hoped one day they might return to their former glory. Then, out of the blue, they literally stopped sending my wine shipments in July of this year, but continued to bill me! When I called and emailed asking what was up, no one ever responded (and I was quite persistent, as people tend to be when you bill them for nothing!) I finally gave in and called the credit card company to charge the transactions back and then wouldnt you know it, someone called. That started a 6 week long process of promises that theyd deliver the back order of wine. I finally gave up. And just a note here - they continued billing me for two more months of shipments that also never came. Everything else here might have fallen apart, but their billing system is top notch! Its really sad to see what Herman and Rose created fall apart so terribly. And its even worse to have one of our favorite places to visit so badly managed that its an exercise in frustration to go there. If youre considering this winery for a visit, reconsider - the older reviews reflect a better time, when Salerno stood for great wine, warm, comfortable ambiance and good service. I sure miss that place!
A beautiful place, filled with world class fine art sculptures, amazing views, and great environment.
Beautiful facility and even more fantastic wine!
Beautiful sculptures only 30 minutes from PQ. Relaxing and tranquil afternoon.
Excellent views and wine. Missing some offerings.
20 dollar pizza was worse than a 5 buck little Cesars. Art is neat. Wine was ok.
Dont go here if you have a lowered car... Speedbump in front jacked my car up... I dont have a rice car but just a regular car. Car almost got stuck on speedbump and scrapped it to hell... No signs posted.
Enjoyed the art collection & outdoor setting!! Good Petit Sirah!!
Great wine, great art sculptures!
Great wine fabulous sculptures.
Delightful grounds full of people and beautiful art, and complex, mature vino!
The most wonderful intimate wine tasting room in Ramona.
What an amazing place. Takes me back to Italy.
Nope.
