A fun spot for the kiddos. Always plenty of people fishing. we like to hike in this area and there are a spider web of trails. even more than your can find on google or alltrails.

I love this place!! I go here a lot. I caught my first bass there! Fishing is fun there but sometimes a bit crowded. I love the trail there & there are plenty of places to explore. You can see lots of wildlife. Overall it’s a nice place to go.

This parking area is small, but overflow parking along roadside works. It nice because its at the Falls Lake dam with access to many trails and clean bathrooms. On a busy day, bring your own tp. I was hiking the MST, but lots of bicyclists there too. Also, easy paved trails for a stroll.

Great place to start your Neuse River tubing trip or kayaking. We have a great time! There is a picnic area right there at the beginning or stop along the way. Plenty of stop-off points.

We love parking here to walk on the Greenway! We especially love watching the water as it comes out of the dam. Such a great little parking and picnic area!

Marks the end of the Mountains to Sea trail Segment 10 (a 70 mile hike which is mostly wonderful except for short spans of clear-cutting) and the beginning of segment 11 (a 60+ mile bicycle ride, the latter half of which is on the road-not ideal) but parking fills up quickly.

This is the start of the best flat trail in the area.

Crowded. Water smells. Not a good place for children. I would recommend it to some, but not all. Bathrooms available. Kind of handicap accessible there.

Nice place to go to walk/run, bike, fish or just enjoy time outside. Children love it here, plenty of bathroom facilities. Typical of camp ground facilities but were well maintained and stocked. Small playground near the dam site. Your near a lake so you MUST watch your children at all times.

On any nice day it is totally over crowded. Area needs more parking. Maybe a small fee for parking could find it, NOT TAXES!

Bathrooms. Easy to park unless it’s a busy time. I’ve only been once or twice where I didn’t find a parking spot. You can walk the greenway from here, walk over the hill to falls late, or watch the white water as it comes through the dam — if you’re lucky you’ll even get to see some whitewater kayakers!

It was a nice trip for me and the family! Only thing is the playground set is too small, so it gets crowded really quick, also no swings. The visitor center was closed when I went but peeking through the windows there is a nice little expo for the dam. We found a snake peeking through the rocks!

Get on the amazing Neuse River Trail here. Restrooms and a bike shop make it even better.

Beautiful, during the quarntine it is nice to have a place to walk around and enjoy the outdoors

When releases from the dam are at the right levels a great wave forms. For skilled whitewater kayakers this is an amazing surfing resource for the Triangle region. I wont dive into water levels, cfs, wave characteristics, and specifics here. But if youre interested in this awesome opportunity, do a little interwebs research, know how to roll a kayak, and know before you go.

Plenty of parking at this scenic trailhead. Restrooms on site. Seemed like a safe place to park. Btw, should you need some last minute bike parts or repairs, there is a bicycle repair shop right near the entrance. Didnt stop in so I couldnt say anything about it.

One of the best kept secrets has been exposed. Many individuals and families are using this area to enjoy biking and walking. Saw people fishing in the lake or at the bridge the river.

Great spot to START your journey, but best to move on. Usually smells like dead fish and the guys smoking while they fish. Follow the Greenway to a more pristine adventure or climb the gravel paths to the lake.

Great for fishing. You can fish at the dam release and at least six other areas before you get to the canoe launch just 0.25 miles downstream. Theres also a great swimming hole. The canoe launch is great for other activities, such as introducing your dog to water. The water is usually less than knee deep at the launch.

I took my actual first long walk around the Neusse river nature trail, up to the dam overlooking the huge lake, the place is really cool. Lots of, excellent views. Id definitely recommend it.

Great area to view the dam and fish. Kids loved it, but be sure to bring extra socks and shoes.

Awesome place to fish and walk around! Relatively clean, spacious, and having some very picturesque viewpoints. Be warned though (from my recent personal experience): do not come there after dark - there are sheriffs (with nothing better to do) who could be waiting to get you into trouble, right after you pull out of there.

Always good to watch the river discharge. Fished on lake pier. No fish

Great place to start your bike ride. Go early, trail gets crowded especially within a few miles of the dam.

Bathrooms and access to the Falls Greenway. Cant ask for more. Old bathrooms and tight parking. Be careful up here.

Beautiful walk along the Neuse River. Just watch out for a few entitled bicyclist! Most people on their bikes were very respectful of the walking visitors.

A great place to fish, have a picnic, enjoy the Greenway, paddle whitewater, hike up to Falls lake, hike The Mountain to Sea Trail, or just sit by the river or lake and enjoy the day.

Lovely scenery..falls,trails,canoe launch..not to mention great fishing

Enjoyed the river. A lot of rock in the river so its easy to get stuck.Got the help of a man who went out into the river to get me loose.The toilet are bad and terrible. dirty, mans toilet did not have water to flush or wash hands.The ladys toilet room was dirty, the toilet was tight, so when you flushed down the water came over to the floor. No pleasant experience.

Parking is always good and the wife and I really love it there. We will always suggest this to all our friends and family if there ever in the area they should always go to Falls Lake

This trail is so beautiful. Its ljke yiu aren t even in Raleigh anymore . Your in some lush mountains.

Rarely have I had a problem finding parking, however on popular days there are other lots that you can access the trail from. Bathrooms have always been well maintained and clean.
