Rich in culture and an adventure all in one. When outside, make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Well worth the trip. Bring friends or family and lunch for a picnic outside. Staff is great, as well.
A fine collection. Would advise taking a couple days to really soak up the experience and enjoy the outdoor activities.
Theres normally ample space to park. Only during the busiest times does it get full, and even then you can normally find a spot still
Plenty of greenway trails and places to sit down. It can get busy on the weekends, but Ive always been able to find parking.
Very nice and love the outdoor space too
Not only is the NCMA museum free, the parking is too. Not many museums can claim that. Its a huge lot which is also popular with hikers on the art trails. If full, drive around the museum for more parking on other side.During the State Fair days, watch the fireworks over the nearby fairgrounds from here.
Even the museum is closed, theres a great place to take a walk.
I love going to this place. I make sure to visit at least twice a year. The outside is so fun for a nice walk with the family and the inside is great for a lunch date. Much better than going to a movie! So glad this exists in NC!
Great art space inside and out, great trails, concerts, and other events.
Such a great place to stroll with a friend, lots of great walking areas
Very spacious parking lot. Enough room to host quite. Few people. Love the fact no matter where you park, there is some kind of activity that you can do or see. One side of the parking lot has the art museum and the other side of the parking lot has the many walking trails. Which is another great site to see. Art all along the trails! And they seem to go so far with sculptures in the middle of the wall. There also a place where they seem to host events, like an arena.
Awesome artwork and walking trail.
Always a splendid time at the NCMA.
Lots of spaces. Wish I had a photo to share.
Parking lot is huge and there are enough entries close enough for wherever you decide to park.
The parking lot is huge... and FREE!!! Its super easy to get into and out of, and there are a good number of handicapped spots down between the two main buildings. The only thing I could say that I didnt necessarily like was the fact that there is basically zero shade in the parking lot.
Favorite place in raleigh!!
Super duper easy. Extra great for folks in need of handicap parking— follow the signs that take you towards the left. Not a ton of spots up close, but good enough. Also, if I recall, you can rent a wheelchair and bring it outside to the car if your loved one needs one. However, there isn’t curbside service for these wheelchairs. You’ll need to go inside to rent and return them.
Great variety of exhibits inside and outside the buildings. The walking path outside is a great addition. Has an area for children to play and summer events. Such a great spot in Raleigh.
Beautiful park and galleries
Love this great and FREE museum. Roden collection is expansive. Attended an outdoor concert in the amphitheatre. We often take our out of town guests here.
Beautiful artwork, very calming atmosphere
This is a world-class collection with an incredible outdoor sculpture garden
Beautiful and eclectic.
Enjoyed the walk around the grounds, stop and get a map of outdoor art exhibitions to really enjoy your hike
Variety of art works, lunch options, shops, large park with walking trails that connect to city greenway system and plenty of free parking. Very well done facility. Lawrence Wheeler left large shoes to fill.
Great parking lot with the outdoor museum pieces and a short walk to the museum proper
Really cool displays and nice walking trails.
Some of the displays/works of art in the outdoor sculpture area appeared old and in disrepair. However it was a nice walking trail.
Best place to start your bike ride toward downtown if you want to avoid the hill at Meridith lol.
Ummm. It’s a parking lot. I was able to park.
Plentiful parking spaces. Plenty of room between vehicles in the spaces. Close in proximity to the museum.
Convenient and plentiful parking. Love it.
Although there was lots of traffic waiting to get into the parking lot, parking was great.
A tremendous asset, place is great!
This place is amazing. You can walk your dog. The museum is free. They have art out while you walk around the park.
Diego Rivera is a great artist.
Fantastic spot for walking dogs, going on dates, or generally relaxing
The expanded parking area is awesome. And they have great volunteers to help everyone get on and out smoothly.
Very nice and educational. it seems they do a whole lot of things here throughout the year. must download schedule.
Its a parking lot adjacent to the museum and the museum park. Nice and clean, well maintained. Easy to get in and out.
Plenty of good parking. Great for using the trails early morning for a run or hike
Lots of overflow parking. If youre going to a busy show, park farther from the entrance - the trails along the edge of the parking are a nice way to skip sitting in line waiting to exit the lot.
Used to be an issue but parking area was significantly expanded in 2017. Theres an entrance to parking off I-40 (before the traffic light) if your just waking the grounds - close to a low-wall amphitheatre / grassy area.
The parking lot generally has enough parking. Has spots near the different walking paths. There are extra spots behind the buildings that are closer to the museum.
Ample parking for both trails and museum. Handicap parking right near museum doors.
Parking was there. It worked just fine. What do you say in a review of a parking spot?
Great place
One of the prettiest parking lots around!!
Great parking lot with tons of space, even during NCMA events and concerts.
This parking lot is free. It is also one of the prettiest parking lots lve seen.
Always lots of parking for Great Exhibits.
Plenty of convenient free parking.
Great exhibits and a great rotation of art to keep it fresh
The parking lot is huge and free, its also right next to the museum and park, which are both free.
My bf proposed to me here
Very interesting, educational and fun!
Overflow parking is a bit of a hike, but still convenient
Found a spot without a problem!
Newly expanded lot with plenty of parking.
Good parking lot, lots of sidewalks
Its a parking lot, really! Very convenient for NCMA too!!
Easy to get out
One of North Carplinas Gems
Awesome
Dedicated parking lot for NCMA. Ample parking space. NCMA is 2 minutes walk from the parking lot.
Great parking?
Parking was very friendly, especially for those of us who are handicapped, and needed to be dropped off closer to the museum.
Fair week. Never found a place to park.
Nice lot
Love the outside art
