I went today for the Wags for Tags fundraiser. The shop is clean and employees are professional and helpful. The art is beautiful and and they make it easy to customize your piece how you want it. Lacey did this piece and it looks amazing and she finished it quickly while still ensuring quality. She constantly checked to make sure it didnt hurt, and asked regularly if I needed a break and made sure I was ok. Im so happy with my experience and recommend this shop to anyone looking for a quality tattoo.

Sam and Paul tattooed me and my two buddies today and did an incredible job. They were both wonderful to work with and the awesome owner really advocated for me to be able to get a tattoo with my buds even though I tagged along last minute. Everyone there was awesome and we all got some beautiful art. I also checked out the pieces the other artists were working on. High quality work all around! Absolutely recommend this place!

This is a long review, but worth reading if your thinking about getting a tattoo! Remember this is artwork that you’ll have on your body for life...In October I went to the shop to check it out for cleanliness, set up, and get an idea on price. It’s not my 1st tattoo, but everyone shoIuld look for these things regardless if you have 44 tats or it’s your 1st. Their stations as well as the shop was squared away and look very clean. I spoke to Chris whom answered all my questions and was very helpful. I told him what I wanted done and he walked me over to the books they have. He also suggested to check out the artists on Instagram. After looking online I liked the other artist work, but I found Ms Lacie’s work to be what I was looking for.When I talked to her she is down to earth and LISTENED to what I wanted done. After all her help I knew she was the artist I wanted. I still had 3 other shops on my list to visit, but felt no reason to go and research anywhere else. Phoenix Tattoos hit all my marks and expectations! I set up my appointment and was now more excited about my art after talking to her.My Tattoo:I got there early and her station was all set for me and she was just finishing up my artwork. She asked me if the design is good and was willing to make any changes that need to be done. She also checked wit me several times for the placement of my tattoo. She was very thorough and took the time to answer all my questions. She understands that this is for life and wanted me to be happy. At no time did I feel that I was being rushed, she is very chill and understanding. Like I said I have several tattoos and she is a very skilled artist and I didn’t feel like she was carving into my body that I’ve had other artist do. She also asked me several times throughout if I needed a break, if so she was willing to stop. She made me feel more like a friend instead of a customer.When my tattoo was finished she gave me a total rundown on what to expect the next few days as well as the next few weeks in the care of my tattoo. She also gave me a package that had the A&D ointment and Lubriderm moisturizing cream to make sure I use the right stuff in taking care of my tattoo. Also had a card inside reiterating everything she just told me so if I forgot anything it was all there. She also said that if I have any questions at all from everything that’s been done, to the care of my tattoo or any touchups that needed to be done feel free to contact her or anyone at the shop.I am extremely pleased wit her work and my tattoo. I’ve got tattoos from famously known Jersey shops and she, hands down, was the best artist I’ve ever had! I have already scheduled another appointment in December for another and plan on getting my future tattoos from her at Phoenix Tattoos.TL;DR This is the place to get your tattoo if you like a friendly place, a clean shop, good prices, and outstanding artists for your tattoo.

I have been to this shop a few times now and I have had nothing but great experiences each time. Everyone is kind, funny and helpful when it comes to deciding and getting work done. Each of the artists has their own style and each one brings something to the table that never stops amazing.

I went to Phoenix tattoo studio for the first time today, I’ve gotten tattoos at other places and have had great experiences and bad experiences but this was the best experience at a tattoo studio I’ve ever had. They were very kind and helpful when I came in, they asked what I wanted and I had a sketch all ready for them and they took it and Sam did my tattoo exactly how I wanted it. The thing that separated him from the other tattoo studios I’ve been to is he was very personable and friendly, it was a very inviting environment. 100% going back soon for my next tattoo!!

Just made an appointment for my 3rd visit to Phoenix Tattoo Studio. Everyone is always friendly and easy to talk to. They make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. It is not an intimidating place at all. Lacie may be the nicest and most approachable person in the tattoo industry. I am really looking forward to my next session there.

Visiting from Atlanta and dropped in with my aunt to get tattoos together. The staff was honest, knowledgeable, and did a solid job on our ink; plus the shop provided the post-tattoo ointment. Sam was fantastic. Polite, professional and friendly. Just got my first tatoo and he was patient as i had a lot of questions. He made the whole process(which getting a tattoo especially when youve never had one before is a huge decision). My tattoo came out 10x better than i possibly could have expected. When/if i decide to get another one hell be who i go to. I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience than i did with Phoenix.

Phoenix has become my go-to shop in the Triangle for high quality artwork. The artists are competent, creative professionals who do outstanding custom work in a variety of styles. I have yet to see any disappointing work out of this shop, and highly recommend them for anyone looking to get a new custom piece.

Absolutely recommend Phoenix Tattoos. Have only been tattooed there by Rob, and have loved the outcome every single time. Very personable, and does excellent work. As far as the other artists there, I cannot speak to their work as I have not had them, but they are all extremely nice and have great senses of humor. Overall excellent place to go!

Phoenix Tattoo Studio is by far the best shop Ive been to! (This was my sixth tattoo and fifth shop) and Ive walked in and out of a lot more. Paul was great! I love love love my black roses tattoo. Hes the type of artist you can have a conversation with about placement and style, give feedback, and he doesnt make you feel bad about things. I trusted his placement and couldnt feel better about how things turned out. I will definitely be making a stop here when I am back in NC. Thank you again!!

First let me start out with, that i loved my experience here. I went in back in December 2015 to get a memorial tattoo for a family member. My artist was Craig and he was wonderful. Polite, funny, took what i wanted and actually made it better than what i had in mind honestly.My only problem is that afterwards the tattoo has a few spots that look as if.. well the only way i can describe it is as (if when youre writing and dont press down hard enough with the pen/pencil and it doesnt really show up..)Half of the tattoo is awesome but unfortunately the other half is not as great. A couple of the letters are not the same and the shading and line work is bad. Now i was nervous and tense. So if that much was my fault, i take credit for it 100%, but other than that. Thats my review.

My husband and I just got our first tattoos from here. Our experience was 100% positive. Everyone was friendly and we didnt feel judged or uncomfortable. Colby was our tattoo artist. She was very professional and told us what would and would not work, which I appreciated. She was patient with us and did exactly what we wanted. We are very pleased with our tattoos and will definitely be going back for more!

Did a walk in with Sam, he was super nice and funny which helped calm me down (even tho I was being the biggest baby over a tiny ass tattoo) my tattoo healed beautifully and I will definitely return for bigger pieces in the future!!

Got tattoo #7 last weekend. Another great job done by Lacie Frain. The newly remodeled shop is very nicely done and all the artists are very friendly. As always, I will be looking for an idea for another tattoo to be done by Lacie as soon as I can!

Dont get Rob...tattoo was rushed and sloppy. Such a shame as my first tattoo. I shouldve trusted my instincts and left after he said $120 for a tattoo the size of a fifty cent piece. He also talked me into changing my original idea cause No one in Raleigh or even NC would do a tattoo like that (it was a simple bold circular spiral...?????) he said there was no way it would be symmetrical, so we did a square design which is ok...but not what I wanted. See ANYONE but him!!

Pheonix Tattoo has an awesome staff and great enviornment! I got my first tattoo here yesterday! It was very intricate with a lot of lines and dot shading, so they told me at the counter that Brian was the right man for thd job. We hashed out the design, and set up an appointment. Brian was wonderful! He did this large peice in 3hrs and 15min and pays very close attention to detail and has impecable lines! I love his work and will be back for more!

Marco is the best, he is so laid back and creative. The whole place is is awesome the atmosphere is chill and laid back. Not pushy and extremely polite, I look forward to getting more work done by Marco.

I moved to the Raleigh area several years ago and was hesitant about finding a new tattoo artist. After some research I decided on Phoenix Tattoo. I looked at the various portfolios and decided I wanted Lacie to my tattoo because of the kind of work she does. I made an appointment for a consultation and pricing because I was getting a rather large tattoo and wasnt sure how much I would be investing in it. She was very professional, listened to my ideas, and tweaked them from there. I was quoted a price (they charge by the hour), and was given an estimate on how long it would take. Everything seemed reasonable to me, so I went ahead and scheduled the tattoo appointment. I had to wait a couple months, but that was ok because all good things are worth waiting for, right? When I came back everything was ready to go and so the process started. I brought a book along to read because it was going to be a 3+ hour appointment, and didnt want to get bored just sitting there. Well I think we ended up chatting the whole time about this and that and I dont think I actually read very much. My tattoo came out great, took just under 3 1/2 hours with no breaks, and was only charged for the 3 hours which was great. After 4 years the tattoo still looks fantastic, and only had to go back once for a touchup. People are amazed at how well it looks, and cant believe its a 4 year old tattoo. I would HIGHLY recommend Lacie at Phoenix Tattoo...shes worth the wait...trust me.

Extremely disappointing experience! From the moment I entered, not only did I not feel welcomed but once the friendly receptionist got the tatoo artist Matt to come and discuss our wants, I knew immediately he had no desire whatsoever to help me. Granted I came unprepared by not bringing in a image, but I knew what I wanted and I was under the impression that a tattoo artist was just that...... An artist. I assumed that he would work with me and help me create the image I wanted, but instead what I got was a condescending unhelpful attitude and told to go home and bring him an image. I was incredibly put off by Matts demeanor and I will ABSOLUTELY not return!

Recently decided I wanted to go ahead with getting a tattoo Ive wanted. A friend suggested Lacie so I set the appointment and literally had to wait 2 months. I told the person I spoke to on the phone this is a first tattoo for me, and then described a black design smaller than half a dollar bill on my foot with a chosen font and picture. Well I wish they would have mentioned this was only the consultation, looking back it makes perfect sense but I would have liked the information. Went to the appt still, waited 45 minutes while she enthusiastically talked with another customer about their tattoos, I thought awesome, shes a professional!. I guess she forgot about me because the front desk gal reminded her I was there. No handshake, no introduction, just sat down and completely rushed me through the consult making me feel uncomfortable. Then she wanted $210.00 for the above described tattoo, and it would be another 5 weeks before she had any available time. I left disappointed.
